        Interactions Between IL-17 Variants and Streptococcus in the Gut Contribute to the Development of Atopic Dermatitis in Infancy

        Purpose Interleukin (IL)-17 variants and perturbations in the gut microbiota may influence the development of atopic dermatitis (AD). However, unifying principles for variants of host and microbe interaction remains unclear. We sought to investigate whether IL-17 variants and gut microbiota affect the development of AD in infancy. Methods Composition of the gut microbiota was analyzed in fecal samples from 99 normal healthy and 61 AD infants at 6 months of age. The associations between total immunoglobulin E (IgE), the scoring atopic dermatitis (SCORAD), short-chain fatty acids, transcriptome and functional profile of the gut measured in these subjects and Streptococcus were analyzed. IL-6 and IL-8 in the human intestinal epithelial cell line (HIEC-6) were measured after stimulation of IL-17 and Streptococcus mitis. Results In this study, Streptococcus was enriched in infants with AD and was higher in those with the GA + AA of IL-17 (rs2275913) variant. Streptococcus was positively correlated with IgE and SCORAD in infants with AD and GA + AA of IL-17. Butyrate and valerate were negatively correlated with Streptococcus and were decreased in infants with AD and GA + AA. Bacterial genes for oxidative phosphorylation induced by reduced colonization of Clostridium were decreased compared with normal and GG. In transcriptome analysis, lactate dehydrogenase A-like 6B was higher in infants with AD compared with healthy infants. IL-6 and IL-8 were increased in IL-17 and/or S. mitis-stimulated HIEC-6 cells. Conclusions These findings suggest that increased Streptococcus and A allele of IL-17 (rs2275913) may contribute to the pathogenesis of AD via modulation of the immune system in infancy.

        성인 Swyer-James-MacLeod 증후군 환자의 CT 소견: 나이에 따른 차이점의 유무

        Purpose: We wanted to evaluate whether there is any different finding on CT with aging for the patients suffering with adult Swyer-James-MacLeod Syndrome (SJMS). Materials and Methods: We included 11 patients (7 males and 4 females) who underwent chest CT scan among 18 patients who were suspected of suffering with SJMS on chest radiographs. The range of age was from 28 to 85 years (mean: 58.5). We evaluated the diameter of both the main pulmonary artery (MPA) with its ratio, and the diameter of the pulmonary trunk (PT) to evaluate the possibility of pulmonary arterial hypertension, and the presence or absence of bronchiectasis. We also evaluated the relationships between these findings and aging. Results: SJMS affected the left lung in 10 of 11 patients. The mean diameter of the main pulmonary artery of the normal lung was 2.5 cm and it was 1.6 cm in the involved site. The mean ratio of the normal MPA diameter to the involved one was 1.6 and this did not correlate with age (p>0.1). The mean diameter of the pulmonary trunk was 2.8 cm and this increased with age (p<0.05). There was bronchiectasis in 6 of 11 patients, and the ratio of bronchiectasis did not correlate with age (p>0.5). Conclusion: SJMS absolutely affected the left lung much more than the right lung. All the patients demonstrated about 1.6 times the compensatory hypertrophy of MPA of the normal lung compared with that of the affected lung on chest CT, which was irrespective of age. The presence or absence of bronchiectasis has no correlation with age. 목적: 성인에서 발견된 Swyer-James-MacLeod 증후군(SJMS) 환자의 CT 소견을 분석하여 나이에 따라 차이가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 최근 2년간 흉부 단순 촬영에서 SJMS가 의심된다고 판독한 환자 19명 중 CT를 시행하여 SJMS의 진단 기준에 포함되는 11명의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 남자가 7명, 여자가 4명이었고, 나이는 28-85세(평균연령: 58.5세)였다. CT에서 양측 주폐동맥의 직경을 측정하여 양측의 비율을 구하고, 폐동맥간의 직경을 측정하여 폐동맥 고혈압 유무를 확인하였으며 동반된 기관지 확장증의 유무 및 종류도 확인하였다. 또한, 이러한 소견과 나이와의 상관관계를 알아보았다. 결과: SJMS는 11예 중, 1예를 제외한 10예에서 모두 좌측 폐를 침범하였다. 정상 폐의 주폐동맥(main pulmonary artery: MPA)의 직경은 평균 2.5 cm, 침범된 폐의 주폐동맥 직경은 평균 1.6 cm로 정상 폐의 주폐동맥이 1.6배 과증식(hypertrophy)되어 있었으며, 이 비율은 나이와 상관관계를 보이지 않았다(p > 0.1). 폐동맥간(pulmonary trunk: PT)의 직경은 평균 2.8 cm로 나이가 증가함에 따라 증가하였다(p < 0.05). 11예 중 6예에서는 기관지 확장증이 동반되었으며, 이 비율은 나이와 상관 관계를 보이지 않았다(p > 0.5). 결론: SJMS는 대부분이 좌측 폐에서 발생하였으며, 모든 환자에서 나이와 무관하게 정상 폐 부위에서 1.6배 정도 폐혈관의 보상적 증식이 있었으며, 기관지 확장증의 동반 여부도 나이와는 상관 관계가 없었다.

        대학의 연구실 안전환경관리자 선임기준 합리화 방안

        This paper shows survey result on safety management status of laboratories in Korea. In Korea, many studies and reports on laboratory safety have been published since the ministry of education, science and technology (MEST) enforced the Act on Establishing a Safe Environment of Laboratories (Lab Safety Act) in 2006. The MEST has surveyed status of safety management in institutions subject to Lab Safety Act in 2008 and 2010. According to the survey result, safety management status of universities and colleges has been improved on several factors such as establishment of safety manual and implementation of safety inspection; while the number of safety managers of universities and colleges have increased. However, the difficulties in performing duties of safety managers has increased because the number of exclusive safety managers has decreased. This paper identifies the similarities and differences between Occupational Safety and Health Act and Lab Safety Act on assignment and duties of safety managers; therefore, this paper suggests a standard to determine the number of safety managers and decide whether or not their duties should be exclusive. Besides current standard that is based on the number of researchers, the number of individual laboratories should be considered. The new method would be helpful to determine the number of exclusive safety managers because the amount of safety managers' duties generally do not depend on only the number of people who may be exposed to any risk but also the number of facilities that may be cause of any accident

        관광서비스 일본어 수업에서의 PBL적용 사례연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the education result of tourism service Japanese using by problem based learning (PBL). Tourism Japanese service industry needs creativity and problem-solving ability for the practical and unpredictable problems during the tourism service performance process. In this regard, the PBL lecture has adequate situations and requirements. Thus, this study performed the PBL lecture for enrolled students and the effectiveness analysis was carried out through a survey. From the results, the PBL lecture aroused not only learning interests with learning motivations, but also acquisition and transfer of knowledges for students. Furthermore, problem-solving abilities of the students were also enhanced through self-initiated problem-solving process.

        간혈관종을 동반한 좌심방개의 혈관종: CT 및 관상동맥 조영술 소견

        Cardiac hemangioma is a rare benign tumor of the heart. We report here on a case of cardiac hemangioma that originated from the left atrial appendage; this was observed on the CT and coronary angiographic findings and the lesion was pathologically proved. 혈관종의 심장의 드문 양성 종양이다. 이에 본원에서 좌심방개(left atrial appendage)에서 기원한 병리학적으로 확진된 심장 혈관종을 경험하였기에 CT 및 관상동맥 조영술 소견을 보고하고자 한다.

        본 논문은 딥러닝 모델을 위한 효율적인 채널 및 공간 정보 중요도 모듈을 제안한다. 일반적으로 중요도는 특징맵 채널 또는 공간에서 계산되며, 주로 성능 및 연산량 등의 이유로 채널 중심 중요도가 많이 활용되고 있다. 제안하는 방법에서는 풀링 연산 및 1차 필터를 통해 중요도를 계산하여 연산량을 줄이면서 성능을 개선한다. 먼저, 특징맵에 대해서 채널 방향의 중요도를 반영하고, 공간 방향 중요도는 채널과 같은 방법으로 높이 및 너비 방향에 대해 각각 계산 후 곱연산을 통해 중요도를 반영한다. 이 과정을 통해서 특징맵은 채널 및 공간에 대한 중요도를 학습하여 딥러닝 모델 성능 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 제안된 방법은 CIFAR-10 및 ImageNet DB에서 MobileNetV2으로 평가하였고, 기존 채널 중요도 방법에 비해 성능이 개선됨을 확인하였다.
