The Guillain·Barre syndrome is characterized by symmetrical rapidly, ascending paralysis that occasionally leads to respiratory embarrassment and death. We atudied 16 patients diagnosed as Guillain-Barre syndrome admitted to ICU at Severance Hospital from, January 1981 to April 1986. All patients were managed by respirators and 10 cases were tracheostomised. In addition to antibioticts with steroid therapy, rigid or fiheroptic bronchoscopy and plasma exchange were performed. The results were as follows ; 1) The 16 cases consist of 9 males and 7 females. 2) Prodromal symptoms were URI, fever, and gastrointestinal symptoms. 3) Diagnosis was 7ased on clinical symptoms, CSF studios and nerve conduction study. 4) Treatments included airway maintenance with ventilators, trachestomy, antibiotics with steroid therapy, rigid or fiberoptic bronchoscopy and plasma exchange. 5) Pulmonary complications (aspiration pneumonia, pneumoia, atelectasis, laryngeal ede-ma) and cardiovascular complications (hypertension, tachycrdia, bradycardia, fever) were observed. However, there was no death in this group. ln conclusion, respiratory care and otter supportive therapy are of prime importance in the management of Guillain·Barre Syndorme.

This study focuses on the melancholic affect in understanding the symbolism of death, which serves as a central motif in the works of Woolf. As a type of the study on affect expressed through various terms such as sentiment, emotion, affect, feeling, the melancholic affect in Woolf ’s Mrs Dalloway constitutes a narcissistic structure where emotions, sensations, and perceptions intersect, each occupying its own space within the whole. In Holbein’s “The Body of the Dead Christ in the Tomb,” Kristeva analyzes the ‘black sun’ of Jesus who, despite pleading for a response from God, remains unanswered. The melancholy of this ‘black sun’ is something we all experience within the narcissistic structure. What’s important to Kristeva is not just experiencing sadness due to being afflicted by this melancholy, but rather, for the individual who can look straight at this ‘black sun’ and confront what it truly is, it is from that confrontation that the ability for creation emerges. If, through affect, we come to perceive the real existence, we must also return to the everyday lives to prevent this phenomenon from plunging us into deeper darkness. Therefore, when Clarissa hears of Septimus’s suicide, she faces a crucial moment of reshaping herself anew.

The effects of the ethanol extracts from Gynostemma pentaphyllum (GP extracts) on body weights, grip strengths, endurances and catecholamine levels after electric footshock (EF) stress in mice and rats were investigated. The animals were treated with GP extracts (50 mg/kg/day, p.o.) for 21 days before exposure to EF (duration and interval 10 sec for 3 min, 2 mA) once a day. The increases in body weights were delayed by 13.1% of the control levels by EF-induced stress in mice, which were recovered to 24.1% of the control levels in GP extract-treated groups. The grip strengths were significantly decreased by EF stress in mice and the EF-stressed groups treated with GP extracts increased grip strengths to 115.2% compared to control levels. The endurance times by forced swimming, which reduced significantly by EF stress, were also maintained similar to control levels by GP extracts in rats. In addition, the levels of norepinephrine and epinephrine in serum and brain, and dopamine in brain were significantly increased to 17.5-95.0% of the control levels after exposure of EF stress in mice. However, EF stressinduced increases in norepinephrine and epinephrine in serum were reduced to 17.1-17.3% of the control levels by treatments of GP extracts, and those in dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine in brain were also reduced to 5.0-19.5%. These results suggest that GP extracts showed the protective effects on EF stress-induced physiological functions and can be developed as the promising anti-stress agents.
나와 학생들의 물리 서술형 문항 채점 기준 공유에 관한 실행연구

The purpose of this action study is to explore ways to improve classroom assessment in my physics class. For this purpose, I examined the problems of my classroom assessment based on the information obtained from the students' survey and refined the critical practical tasks. Among them, 'What are the causes of the discrepancies between students and me in descriptive assessment items?'. To solve this, I redrew the scoring rubric shared with 193 students who took my physics class. Also, by re-scoring using a revised scoring rubric, the causes were analyzed. They were as follows. First, a low level of students' understanding of a scoring rubric, second, a lack of aligning the assessment with the teaching method, third, my some difficulties with interpreting students' descriptive answers. After redrawing the scoring rubric with the students, I reflected on these activities in light of the factors, that presented by McMillan(2013/2015), be considered for the high-quality classroom assessment. And these reflections were reviewed by education experts and mentor teachers. The revised scoring rubric was applied to classes for the following year and was used to create a descriptive assessment item in the 2018 midterm exam. In the future, I hope that there will be continued action researches that will allow me and my students to grow together in my physics class. 이 실행 연구의 목적은 나의 물리 수업에서 교실평가 개선 방안을 탐색하기 위해서이다. 이러한 목적 달성을 위해 학생설문으로부터 얻은 정보를 기반으로 나의 교실평가의 문제점들을 조사해 이를 ‘중요 실천 과제’로 다듬어 갔다. 이 중 ‘서술형 평가에서 나와 학생의 채점 불일치 원인은 무엇인가?’라는 과제 해결을 위해 나의 물리1 수업을 듣는 193명의 학생들과 채점 기준을 공유하며 채점 기준을 개선하였다. 또한, 수정한 채점 기준을 이용해 학생답안을 재채점해 나와 학생의 불일치 원인들을 분석하였다. 이러한 교실평가 활동을 통해 찾은 불일치 원인은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 채점 기준에 대한 학생들의 낮은 이해 수준, 둘째, 교수 방법과 연계된 평가가 미흡한 점, 셋째, 학생답안에 대한 나의 해석의 어려움으로 나타났다. 나는 이러한 활동에 대한 반성을 위해 McMillan(2013/2015)이 제시한 질 높은 교실평가를 위해 고려해야 할 요소들에 비추어 반성해보고 이를 교육 전문가와 멘토 교사들에게 검토를 받았다. 수정한 채점 기준은 다음 해부터 수업에 적용되었고 2018년 중간고사 서술형 한 문항의 채점 기준에도 사용하였다. 앞으로 나와 학생들이 함께 성장할 수 있는 물리 수업을 만들 수 있는 실행 연구가 계속 이루어지길 바란다.
