        Edwards Duromedics 기계판막엽 탈출 - 1례 보고 -

        =Valve Leaflet Escape of Edwards Duromedics Mechanical Valve- A Case report - Edwards Duromedics 기계 판막은 1982년 임상적 사용이 시작되었으며, 여러 변화를 거쳐서 현재까지 사용중이다. 기계판막과 관계되는 합병증으로 혈전색전증, 심내막염, 판막부전, 판막엽 탈출 및 파손 등이 있으며 판막엽 탈출은 아주 드물게 보고되어 있다. 40세 남자가 1996년 11월 Edwards Duromedic 기계판막(#31, 모델 9210R)으로 승모판 치환술 및 삼첨판륜 성형술을 시행받은 후 외래 추적관찰 중 1시간 전부터 시작된 급성 호흡곤란을 주소로 응급실에 내원하였다. 심초음파 및 심장 투시촬영상 판막부전으로 진단하여 응급수술을 시행하였다. 수술 중 하나의 기계판막엽이 탈출되어 있는 것을 발견하였으며, 기계판막을 제거하고 St. Jude 기계판막으로 승모판 치환술을 시행하였다. 수술 후 시행한 복부 단층 촬영 및 투시 촬영에서 복부대동맥 분지 부위에서 탈출된 판막엽을 발견하였으며 외래 추적관찰 중 제거를 계획한 후 퇴원하였다.

        주사전자현미경을 이용한 무당벌레에 기생하는 무당벌레기생파리(Degeeria separata)의 외부형태적 특징

        External morphological characteristics of male and female of Degeeria separata, which was endoparasited in adult of the Asian ladybird, were studied by using the scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The antenna of Degeeria separata was consisted of three segment and arista. Anstae were about 750㎛ length and 30㎛ in diameter. The surface of antennae was covered with many sensilla. They were long or short, slender or thick, and straight or curved. Each three morphological types of sensilla were observed on the second and third segment of antennae. The mouthpart was sponging type. It was consisted with clypeus, labellum, labium, labrum, and maxillary palp. The labellum is 400㎛ width and double folded vertically. The leg consist of tarsus, tarsus claw, pulvilli, and empodium.

        유한요소법에 의한 골강도와 micro-CT 지표 및 골밀도간의 상관관계

        Purpose : Bone mineral density (BMD) and bone microarchitecture are important determinants for bone strength. Recently micro-CT have provided possibilities for measuring a variety of structural indices to characterize bone microarchitecture. The objective of this study was to compare the BMD and micro-CT parameters with Young's modulus calculated by finite element analysis(FEA) for the evaluation of bone strength. Materials and Methods : Bone specimens were obtained from the 18 female rabbits aged 16 weeks. Of those, 36 samples (right and left femur) were selected for 3D micro-CT analysis (ANT^(TM), SKYSCAN, Belgium) and BMD by PIXImus 2 (GE Lunar Co. USA). Five microstructural parameters of micro-CT, such as trabecular thickness (Tb.Th), bone specific surface (BS/BV), percent bone volume (BV/TV), structure model index (SMI) and degree of anisotropy (DOA) were studied. Young's modulus was obtained by software program (ANSYS 9.0, ANSYS Inc, Canonsburg, PA) based on micro-CT three dimensional images. Results : Young's modulus assessed by FEA correlated significantly with Tb.Th, BV/TV, BS/BV and SMI respectively. Young's modulus showed higher correlation with these microstructural parameters of micro-CT than BMD. Microstructural parameters except DOA showed significant correlations within the examined group. Conclusion : The microarchitectural parameters of micro-CT and BMD represented some informations in the evaluation of bone strength assessed by FEA. (Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2007; 37: 53-9)

        벼 줄무늬잎마름병의 새로운 중간기주 ‘들묵새’

        Rice stripe virus (RSV) is one of Tenuivirus Group, which is carried by small brown planthopper. There is an outbreak of RSV in South Korea at 2001, and 2007. The infection caused by RSV had been investigated on weeds around the rice cultivated areas 13 region and 26 site including Jeonbuk Buan and Chungnam Seocheon. There have a doubt as to alternate host of RSV is total 15 Family and 50 Species including Gramineae 24 species of Duksaepul (Alopecurus aequalis), H. sativum var. vulgare etc.. There is identified the infected RSV in Festuca myuros, Alopecurus aequalis, Hordeum sativum var. vulgare, Trisetum bifidum, Echinochloa crusgalli var. crus-galli, Digitaria ciliaris among this species. Deulmuksae is the overwintering exotic weed which sprout in Autumn and wither in Spring and commonly growed as green manure crop or cover crop. In order to identify the infection rate furthermore, 111 samples which were collected at Buan Gyehwa-myeon region, and 50 samples from Seocheon Maseo-myeon in June, 2008, were ELISA tested. The results are 32 positives from Buan, 28.8% infection rate, 8 positives from Seocheon 16.0% infection rate. RSV infection of Deulmuksae is not reported currently, and follow report first describes the Deulmuksae as an alternate host of RSV.         Kodak Insight 구내필름의 치아우식증 진단능에 대한 연구

        Purpose : To compare the diagnostic accuracy of Kodak Insight film with other intra-oral films in the detection of dental caries. Materials and Methods : Periapical radiographs of 99 extracted human teeth with sound proximal surfaces and interproximal artificial cavities were made on Kodak Ultra speed, Ektaspeed, Agfa Ektaspeed and Kodak Insight films and automatically processed. Six dentists examined the presence of dental caries using a five-point confidence rating scale and compared the diagnostic accuracy by ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) analysis and ANOVA test. Results : The sensitivity of Kodak Ultra speed, Ektaspeed, Agfa Ektaspeed and Insight film were 0.84, 0.77, 0.75 and 0.79 respectively. The specificity of Kodak Ultra speed, Ektaspeed, Agfa Ektaspeed and Insight film were 0.97, 0.95, 0.96 and 0.94 respectively. The mean ROC areas (Az) of Kodak Ultra speed, Ektaspeed, Agfa Ektaspeed and Insight film were 0.917, 0.910, 0.894, 0.909 respectively. There was no significant differences between Az of Insight film and other films (p = 0.178). Conclusion : Theses results suggested that Kodak Insight film have the comparative diagnostic accuracy of dental caries with Ultraspeed and Ektaspeed films.
