Purpose: Providing oral care is one of the most important nursing interventions in ICU. Good oral health prevents various complications including pneumonia and improves patients' well-being as well. The purpose of this study was to indentify the ICU nurses’awareness and performance on oral care. Methods: Using a convenient sampling, 170 ICU nurses from 5 university hospitals in two metropolitan cities were selected. Results: Of the 170 nurses in this study, 95.9% were aware of the importance of oral care. Subjects responded that providing oral care three times or more a day was appropriate to prevent ventilator associate pneumonia. 43.5% of the subjects acknowledged that they didn’t know what the most effective oral care solution was. In oral care performance, 61.8% of subjects provided oral care once a day for patients with intubation, and 74.7% used oral solutions without knowing the exact pharmacological effects of them. Conclusion: As the results of this study, most ICU nurses realized the importance on oral care for ICU patients, but the frequency of performance was low. To improve oral care performance in the ICU, structured education should be provided to ICU nurses and evidence based oral care protocols need to be developed.
커버플레이트를 이용한 다단계 온도프리스트레싱으로 보강된 합성보의 하중-저항성능 분석

본 연구는 다단계 온도프리스트레싱 공법으로 보강된 합성보의 하중재하 실험 및 구조해석을 통하여 온도프리스트레싱 공법의 프리스트레스 도입효과와 단면증가효과를 평가하였다. 연구결과 온도프리스트레싱을 이용한 합성보의 보강공법은 온도프리스트레싱에 의한 프리스트레스 도입 뿐 아니라 커버플레이트의 설치에 의한 단면증가로 합성보의 처짐 또한 감소시킬 수 있으므로 합성보의 효율적인 보강공법으로 적용이 가능할 것이다. In this study, static loading tests and numerical analyses of the composite beam strengthened by multi-stepwise thermal prestressing method were carried out to evaluate the prestressing effect of the thermal prestressing prestress and the sectional effect of the installed cover-plate on the increase in the load-carrying capacity of composit beam. From this study, the strengthening method using multi-stepwise thermal prestressing method (TPSM) can be applied to reduce the deflection of the composite beam as well as to strengthening the composite beam by inducing the prestress in case of the occurrence in the large deflection by the insufficiency of the section properties of the composite beam. because of the expectation of the increase in the yield load and the sectional properties of the composite beam.

Percutaneous device closure for secundum atrial septal defects (ASDs) has been performedcommonly and safely with high success rates. However, it is still challenging to close ASDsthat are surrounded with deficient or hypermobile rims and could be compromised with anunexpected migration of device. We report a case of percutaneous Amplazter SeptalOccluder (ASO; St. Jude Medical Inc. , St. Paul, Minnesota, USA) device closure for an ASDwith a thin and floppy interatrial septum, which immediately migrated into the rightatrium and was not pulled back into the delivery sheath. To our knowledge, this is the firstreport on a successful percutaneous retrieval and redeployment of the device in such asituation, preventing any vascular injury or unplanned emergency open heart surgery.

This study compares the power of Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un through the lens of skyscrapers as symbols of their regimes’ power. While the number of skyscrapers in Pyongyang increased during Kim Jong-un’s era, there was little change in the scale of power projection per building compared to his predecessor. This aspect indicates that Kim Jong-un inherited his power rather than acquiring it himself. Next, we compared the urban planning centered around skyscrapers during the two leaders’ eras. As a result, Pyongyang under Kim Jong-un’s leadership showed similarities to Manhattan, as evidenced by its nickname “Pyonghattan”. Manhattan’s skyscrapers evolved into a form where the unit area per unit increased as the building height increased, a difficult technological achievement that was replaced by the power of ostentation. However, Pyongyang’s Ryugyong Hotel is still the tallest building, and it is difficult to find any further developmental progress beyond the pyramid of empty space that narrows. The power of the Kim Jong-un regime viewed through skyscrapers shows that it is striving to expand beyond the inherited power, but is considerably stagnant in terms of direction and speed. The skyscraper city of the Kim Jong-un regime is a visual strategy to hide this stagnation.
일 대학 외국인 유학생들의 대학건강센터 이용 실태 조사

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify international students’ use of university health centers by individual characteristics and seasons. Methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study using data obtained from the electronic record system of one university health center. The study participants were international undergraduate students who registered for any of two semesters between March 1, 2014 and February 28, 2015 and visited the university health center during their registration period. Results: The most common reasons for visits were problems of head, eye, nose and throat systems, followed by respiratory system. Their visits mostly occurred in the fall and spring. The most frequently used services were distribution of oral medication followed by wound treatment. The number of visits per individual was statistically different by gender (u=-3.307, p=.001), but not by their major (χ²=.543, p=0.762) or nationality (χ²=5.518, p=.271). Conclusion: Further study is necessary to better define health needs and related factors for this unique population. The electronic record system provides great opportunities in development and application of need based health services for international students and for research in this area.
