This research aims at examining Physical Characteristics of apparatus gymnast by degrees, Physical Traits are important information to choose better apparatus gymnast and to predict the ability of improvement, To do this, 8 national team members, 8 such-like substitutes, and 8 general team members, 24 apparatus gymnast in total were subjected, Analyzing average value with two variants performed two times. The research made a conclusion as following. 1. Weight makes difference in apparatus gymnast according to the level of competence, National team members were the lightest, and substitutes, and general team members in turn. 2. Skinfolds makes difference in apparatus gymnast's iliac crest, front thigh, medial calf, subscapular, eiceps, supraspinale and abdominal according to the level of competence. 3. Girths makes difference in apparatus gymnast's forearm(maximum), gluteal(hips), arm(relaxed), arm(flexed & tensed), thigh(1cm gluteal), thigh(mid troch-tib-lat), calf(maximum) and ankle(minimum) according to the level of competence. 4. Lengths doesn't maim difference in apparatus gymnast according to the level of competence. 5. Breadths doesn't make difference in apparatus gymnast according to the level of competence.

Selenoprotein M (SeIM) is a eukaryotic selenoprotein containing one selenocysteine (Sec) and Sec insertion sequence (SECIS) in 3' untranslated regions. In order to examine whether SelM expression and selenium treatment were influenced on expression level of the apoptosis-related proteins, pCMV/hlDE fusion gene were overexpressed in the HEK 293 cell line and hSelM-Tg rat. Herein, it is concluded that; ⅰ) two transgenic mice were identified by PCR analysis using specific primers by screening 28 newborn founder mice, ⅱ) the GFP-hSeIM fusion protein were successfully detected on the protein level in the HEK 293 cell line and hSeIM-Tg rat. ⅲ) it was also observed that p53 proteins were significantly changed in the HEK 293 cell under the condition of hSeIM overexpression and selenuim treatment, while not changed in the kidney tissue of hSeIM-Tg rat. ⅳ) Bax proteins were significantly changed in the kidney of hSeIM-Tg rat under the condition of hSeIM overexpression and sel treatment, while not changed in the HEK 293 cell line. ⅴ) Bel2 proteins in the HEK 293 cell were significantly decreased in the hSeIM transfectants, but hSeIM-Tg rat were shown the different expression patterns in the sel treated condition. These results suggest that selenium treatment and SeIM overexpression were differently influenced the expressions of apoptosis-related proteins in the tumor cell line and transgenic tissue

The selenium (Se) is now recognized as an essential component of various selenoenzymes. To study whether Se treatment affects the endoplasmic reticulum ER stress signaling pathway in the non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice, the indicator protein on the ER stress pathway was examined in the liver of the NOD mice by the western blot analysis. It was observed that Se acted as the insulin-like effects on glucose level in the Se-treated diabetes-susceptible (DS)-NOD mice. Nevertheless, Se treatment activated ER stress signal through the phosphorylation of JNK and eIF2 protein. In conclusion, these results suggest that Se component play an important role in the down-regulation of glucose level and the activation of some intermediate signaling proteins associated with ER stress signal pathway in the NOD mice.

The objective of the present study was to review the current research about the outcomes of horticultural activity interventions in order to determine research trends and analyze the characteristics of horticultural activity interventions. We reviewed the literature using search engines such as the Web of Science, Proquest Dissertation and Theses, Academic Search Premier, Research Information sharing Service, and Korean National Assembly Digital Library to locate journal articles that include relevant search terms (e.g., gardening activity, gardening program, allotment garden, urban agriculture, horticultural therapy, and horticultural activity). We initially identified 14,414 journal articles that were published before April 2014 and selected 509 of the papers for review. We found that studies investigating treating children and adults 8 to 64 years old were the most common, and horticultural activities such as gardening outdoors, planting indoors, making crafts with live plants, arranging flowers, making crafts with artificial or pressed flowers, and other activities were usually combined. Short/medium term (11 to 20 sessions) horticultural activity programs were the most frequent, and most interventions were of medium duration (> 60 min to 120 min). Most of the studies focused on the psychological or emotional effects of horticultural intervention, such as its effects on emotional intelligence, selfesteem, stress, and depression. Further studies are needed to analyze the research methodology, specific outcomes, and strengths or weaknesses of studies investigating horticultural activity interventions.

One of the exciting areas for hematological research is the ex vivo expansion of hematopoietic stem cells. Bone marrow(BM) is most frequently used to transplant hematopoietic progenitor cells, but mobilized peripheral blood(MPB) and umbilical cord blood(UCB) provide alternative sources of progenitor cells for transplantation. The characteristics of the CD34^(+) cells from hematopoietic stem cell sources such as, peripheral blood, bone marrow, and umbilical cord blood are different each other. It is not well known what is the best condition and what source is superior ex vivo expansion. Also there are some arguments that the phenotypic changes of ex vivo expanded hematopoietic stem cells are still suitable for long-term engraftments. To study for this questions, CD34^(+) cells from MPB, BM and UCB were analyzed for in vitro colony formation, capacity of ex vivo expansion with hematopoietic growth factors, and characterized by immunophenotyping for several lineage-associated and maturation -related cell surface molecules at pre- and post-ex vivo expansion. The results were as follows: 1. The maximal increment of total nuclear cells in MPB, BM, and UCB were 42.63±10.39 folds, 64±23.52 folds, and 92.67±12.50 folds, respectively and the colony forming unit-colonies in MPB, BM, and UCB were increased maximally 17.60±1.90 folds, 18.00±1.41 folds, and 21.77±21.01 folds, respectively after 7 days liquid culture of CD34+ cells, with hematopoietic growth factors. 2. The absolute increment of CD34+ cells in MPB, BM, and UCB were 4.20±0.28 folds, 3.62±1.29 folds, and 14.35±3.32 folds, respectively in ex vivo expansion of CD34+ cells with combination of SCF, G-CSF IL-1, IL-3, and IL-6. 3. Myeloid progenitors in the CD34+ population studied by examining expression of CD33, CD45RA and CD13, CD34+ cells, either from MPB and BM, contained a large proportion of cells(≥25%) with myeloid cell- associated molecules(CD13) before liquid culture. The proportion of CD34+ cells in MPB expressing the B cell-associated molecules(CD19) was comparable to that found in BM and UCB(≤ 5%). Further, we observed a higher proportion of CD34+ cells expressing the CD71(transferrin receptor) is MPB(19.05±12.16%) compared with both BM(3.86±2.45%) and UCB(3.18±3.90%). 4. After 7 days liquid culture with hematopoietic growth factors(SCF+IL-1+IL-3+IL-6+G-CSF), we observed a higher proportion of CD34+ cells expressing the CD13, CD33, CD71 in MPB, BM and UCB. The data present here suggests that MPB, BM, and UCB can be the sources for ex vivo expansion of hematopoietic stem cells and circulating CD34^(+) cells, either from BM or UCB, display largely the same phenotypic profile, being different from resident CD34^(+) cells in MPB.
