<B>Graphic Abstract</B> <P>The cover shows a schematic illustration of patterned colloidal photonic crystals with different bandgap positions. When an unknown light source impinges on the patterned photonic crystals, the light information can be identified from the reflection intensity profile of the constituent photonic crystals. This paper introduces the Agrometeorological Network and Information System. Twenty-one Automatic Weather Station (AWS) installed in Regional Agriculture Technology Center (ATC) were integrated into a network system based on the Internet. Also, this system was connected to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) with high speed network for acquisition of data from national weather observation offices. In addition, daily agricultural climate data which had been compiled in 92 ATCs in the past 30 years were computerized into an integrated climate database. Bnsed on this database system, three main information services were developed. These are: a) real-time weather information including current agricultural weather condition at ATC and KHTA office by geographic maps as well as table format, b) climate database with search-ing and comparative analysis menus, and c) climate analysis infermation for farmers, such as greenhouse heat-ing requirement calculator, soil water content calculator, and growing degree days calculator.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and correlates of depressive symptoms in community-dwelling low income elderly. Methods : A community survey of 1,351 low income residents aged 65 or over was conducted in Buk district of Gwangju, Korea. Depressive symptom was evaluated by the Korean Form of the Geriatric Depression Scale (KGDS). Their Sociodemographic factors, the precence of chronic physical illness, and cognitive functions were investigated. Results : The prevalence rate of depressive symptoms was 69.8%. In multiple logistic regression, chronic physical illness (Odds Ratio : 2.68, 95% Confidence Interval : 1.98-3.63), low education (Odds Ratio : 1.84, 95% Confidence Interval : 1.39-2.43), and cognitive impairment (Odds Ratio : 1.61, 95% Confidence Interval : 1.20-2.16) were independently associated with depressive symptoms. Conclusion : Depressive symptoms in community-dwelling low income elderly were very common, particularly related to current chronic physical illnesses. The results of this study can be useful for the development of community-based prevention and management programs for depression. Of elderleg.

In this paper, the wavelet-based stereo matching algorithm to obtain the accurate disparity in wavelet transformed domain by using shiftability, the modified wavelet transform and the similarities for the sub-bands. New approach for stereo matching by lots of feature information is to utilize translation-variant results of the sub-bands in the wavelet transformed domain because they cannot literally expect translation invariance in a system based on convolution and sub-sampling. To utilize the property of shiftability, we have to sample the data of the image with the pre-defined window: we use the same as a BMA(block matching algorithm). After matching the similarities for each sub-band, we can find the optimal matched-points because the sub-bands of shifted signals is definitely different from the original signal of not shifting. To find the optimal matched-points, however, we need to obtain the accurate data of sub-bands. therefore, the modified wavelet transform is used by the proposed algorithm; the modified wavelet transform does not have the process of decimations and does convolutions using the reconstructed sequences of data which involve information outside the window. The wavelet transformed images are decomposed into the coefficients which involve the same information of the blurred image, the horizontal, the vertical, and the diagonal edges, therefore, the final similarity is composed of four similarities for each sub-band and then the linear combination for the final similarity has a weight for each similarity. we can adaptively decide the value of weights because we can obtain the relative ratios based on the power spectrum of each sub-band. The proposed algorithm show the good results that do the noise-immune property and the accurate matching for edges.
