지역 정체성을 반영한 근대문화유산 활용 연구 : 전북 군산시 근대문화유산을 중심으로

최근 근대문화유산을 둘러싼 담론이 ‘보존과 활용’으로 변화하였다. 이에 근대문화유산을 보유하고 있는 지자체들은 이를 매력적인 문화자원으로 인식하고 지역개발에 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 우리나라 개항도시들은 기본적으로 ‘수탈’이라는 공통의 흔적을 갖고 있으나 지리적요건과 당시 일본의 계획에 따라 조금씩 다른 특성을 갖고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 지역의 특성에 따른 정체성을 반영한 근대문화유산의 활용 보다는 대부분 근대 건축물의 보수·복원과 수요 중심의 공간 조성이 중심을 이루고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 지역 정체성을 반영한 근대문화유산의 활용을 위한 방안을 전북 군산시의 근대문화유산을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다.

It has been 20 years since the introduction of the local government system. It has enabled the efficient management of the central and local government. In addition, it became an opportunity to preserve the characteristics of the region. The local government system led to the development of local festivals. Local festivals harmonize citizens, strengthen community consciousness and attract tourists. It has a positive effect on the regional revitalization. These positive effects of local festivals were enough to attract the attention of many municipalities after the introduction of local government system. As a result, the number of local festivals in Korea has increased exponentially with the introduction of the local government system. However, due to the overheated aspects of local festivals, local festivals in the Republic of Korea are losing their local identities and being criticized by similar programs and performances not related to the their identity. The purpose of this study is to review the role of the local festival through the diversity of festival contents especially before and after the introduction of the local government system and makes it possible to enhance the role of the local festival today.

한국안광학회지 논문의 의학용어 분석

목적: 본 연구는 한국안광학회지 게재논문에서 사용된 의학용어를 연도별로 분석함으로써 한국안광학회지의 의학용어 준수율을 파악하고자 하였다. 방법: 2009년부터 한국안광학회지에 게재된 논문 360편의 제목과 주제어에 사용된 의학용어를 대상으로 분석하였다. 의학용어는 띄어쓰기를 생략하여 표기하기 때문에 논문에 명시된 의학용어는 띄어쓰기를 생략하는 사전 작업을 실시하였다. 의학용어집은 기존의 발간된 제 3, 4집에서 국어 표준화와 외국어 한글 표기법에 의거하여 제 5집에는 추가적인 용어들이 선정되었고, 제 3, 4집의 오류가 있었던 용어들이 교정되어 발간되었다. 의학용어집 제 3집과 제 4집을 옛 의학용어로 가장 최근 출간된 의학용어집 제 5집을 최신 의학용어로 분류하여 사용된 의학용어의 빈도수 및 비율을 분석하였다. 결과: 제 3, 4집 의학용어의 사용비율, 편당 사용개수, 편당 출현 횟수는 연도와 유의한 상관관계를 갖지 않는 것을 확인하였다. 제 5집의 최신 의학용어의 사용비율은 50%이상이 되지 않았다. 결론: 본 연구를 통하여 한국안광학회지의 게재논문에서 제 3, 4집의 옛 의학용어가 계속해서 사용되었으며 제 5집 의학용어집에 등록된 최신 의학용어가 제 3, 4집의 옛 의학용어에 비해 상대적으로 사용되지 않는 것을 확인하였다. 논문 사이의 비교분석과 학회지사이의 학술적 교류를 위하여 최신 의학용어 사용을 통한 용어의 일치는 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 원활한 정보전달을 위해 논문 작성 시 최신 의학용어로 통일하여 사용하는 것의 중요성과 필요성을 확인하였다.

Final Thickness Reduction and Development of Goss texture in C- and Al-free Fe-3%Si-0.1%Mn-0.012%S Electrical Steel

The correlation between final thickness reduction and development of Goss texture has been investigated in a CandAl-free Fe-3%Si electrical steel. During final annealing, the annealing texture is transited from {110}⊥ND to{100}⊥ND texture with increasing final thickness reduction. This is due to the decrease in primary grain size afterpre-annealing with increasing final thickness reduction which accelerates the selective growth rate of the {100}grains at the expense of the other {hkl} grains. At an optimal final thickness reduction of 75.8%, the high magneticinduction of 1.95 Tesla, which arises from the sharp {110}<001> Goss texture and is comparable to that of conventionalgrain-oriented electrical steels, is obtained from the C- and Al-free Fe-3%Si-0.1%Mn electrical steel. Such a high magnetic property is produced through the surface-energy-induced selective grain growth of the Gossgrains under the lower surface-segregated condition of sulfur which makes the surface energy of the {110} planelowest among the {hkl} planes.

Long Non-coding RNA HOTAIR Expression in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma: In Relation to Polycomb Repressive Complex Pathway Proteins and H3K27 Trimethylation

Background: A long non-coding RNA hox transcript antisense intergenic RNA (HOTAIR) is involved in epigenetic regulation through chromatin remodeling by recruiting polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) proteins (EZH2, SUZ12, and EED) that induce histone H3 trimethylation at lysine 27 (H3K27me3). Deregulation of c-MYC and interaction between c-MYC and EZH2 are well known in lymphomagenesis; however, little is known about the expression status of HOTAIR in diffuse large B-cell lymphomas (DLBCLs). Methods: The expression status of PRC2 (EZH2, SUZ12, and EED), H3K27me3, c-MYC, and BCL2 was analyzed using immunohistochemistry (n = 231), and HOTAIR was investigated by a quantification real-time polymerase chain reaction method (n = 164) in DLBCLs. Results: The present study confirmed the positive correlation among PRC2 proteins, H3K27me3, and c-MYC in DLBCLs. Expression level of HOTAIR was also positively correlated to EZH2 (p < .05, respectively). Between c-MYC and HOTAIR, and between c-MYC/BCL2 co-expression and HOTAIR, however, negative correlation was observed in DLBCLs (p < .05, respectively). High level of H3K27me3 was determined as an independent prognostic marker in poor overall survival (hazard ratio, 2.0; p = .023) of DLBCL patients. High expression of HOTAIR, however, was associated with favorable overall survival (p = .004) in the univariate analysis, but the impact was not significant in the multivariate analysis. The favorable outcome of DLBCL with HOTAIR high expression levels may be related to the negative correlation with c-MYC expression or c-MYC/BCL2 co-expression. Conclusions: HOTAIR expression could be one of possible mechanisms for inducing H3K27me3 via EZH2-related PRC2 activation, and induced H3K27me3 may be strongly related to aggressive DLBCLs which show poor patient outcome.

Current Cytology Practices in Korea: A Nationwide Survey by the Korean Society for Cytopathology

Background: Limited data are available on the current status of cytology practices in Korea. This nationwide study presents Korean cytology statistics from 2015. Methods: A nationwide survey was conducted in 2016 as a part of the mandatory quality-control program by the Korean Society for Cytopathology. The questionnaire was sent to 208 medical institutions performing cytopathologic examinations in Korea. Individual institutions were asked to submit their annual cytology statistical reports and gynecologic cytology-histology correlation data for 2015. Results: Responses were obtained from 206 medical institutions including 83 university hospitals, 87 general hospitals, and 36 commercial laboratories. A total of 8,284,952 cytologic examinations were performed in 2015, primarily in commercial laboratories (74.9%). The most common cytology specimens were gynecologic samples (81.3%). Conventional smears and liquid-based cytology were performed in 6,190,526 (74.7%) and 2,094,426 (25.3%) cases, respectively. The overall diagnostic concordance rate between cytologic and histologic diagnoses of uterine cervical samples was 70.5%. Discordant cases were classified into three categories: category A (minimal clinical impact, 17.4%), category B (moderate clinical impact, 10.2%), and category C (major clinical impact, 1.9%). The ratio of atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance to squamous intraepithelial lesion was 1.6 in university hospitals, 2.9 in general hospitals, and 4.9 in commercial laboratories. Conclusions: This survey reveals the current status and trend of cytology practices in Korea. The results of this study can serve as basic data for the establishment of nationwide cytopathology policies and quality improvement guidelines in Korean medical institutions.

An Investigation of Korean Consumers' Service Quality Perception of Imported Retail Services: Implications of Consumer Ethnocentrism

Purpose: This study analyzes how consumers’ level of ethnocentrism influences their perceived quality on an imported service. Design/methodology/approach: In order to do so, this study firstly utilizes five measurement items to assess consumers’ level of ethnocentrism. Then, SERVQUAL (Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy) is employed to evaluate consumers’ perceived quality on the imported service. Lastly, consumers’ level of ethnocentrism and their evaluation on the imported service is comparatively analyzed in order to identify the relationship between the ethnocentric customers and their evaluation on the service. Starbucks was used as the sample of an imported service. The data was collected from general Korean consumers and a total of 220 respondents participated in the survey. Findings: As a result, Reliability, Responsiveness, and Empathy factors were empirically proved to have significant relationship between consumer’s ethnocentrism and consumer’s perceived quality of the imported service. Based on the results, this study suggests focusing on localization of Reliability, Responsiveness, and Empathy factors when an international company expands their market to the countries with high tendency of ethnocentrism, such as: South Korea, China and the United States of America. Research limitations/implications: The sample size that was used for this study is rather small and the survey was conducted and analyzed in relatively short time period. Also, if traditional Korean coffee shops can be compared to as Starbucks in the future study, more meaningful result will be drawn. Originality/value: By demonstrating that ethnocentrism influences consumers’ purchase intentions in the decision-making process through Reliability, Responsiveness, and Empathy, this study re-emphasizes the importance of localization when expanding services to countries with high levels of ethnocentrism.
