In this study, the evolution of the electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) of a piezoelectric (PZT) patch embedded in fresh cement paste was investigated to discuss the possibility of monitoring the setting process of cement-based materials using an EMI sensing technique. A tailored thin square PZT patch was embedded in cement paste before casting, and EMI signatures of the embedded patch were continuously measured from casting up to 12 hours. A standard penetration resistance test was performed to compare and correlate the evolution of EMI during the setting process. The results showed that EMI responses differ according to the age of the cement paste, and that the behavior of the EMI resonance peak has a clear correlation with the penetration resistance of the cement paste. Based on the results, it is concluded that an EMI sensing technique using embedded PZT patch can be effectively applied to monitor the setting process of cement-based materials.

The present study aimed at clarifying unsteady flow characteristics of the industrial motors. High- resolution CCD camera(2k×2k, ES 4.0) and Nd-YAG laser are adopted to clarify flow characteristics of the motor. Quantitative velocity distribution and related flow information is presented and macro flow structure, generated via the motor axis and the cooling fan, also is investigated. Moreover, from the velocity field data, discharge flow rate through the air duct is compared at each measuring sections.

In this paper, we introduce a biped walking robot which can do static walking with 22 degree-of-freedoms. The developed biped walking robot is 480mm tall and 2500g, and is constructed by 22 RC servo motors. Before making an active algorithm, we generate the motions of robot with a motion simulator developed using C language. The two dimensional simulator is based on the inverse kinematics and D-H transform. The simulator implements various motions as we input the ankle's trajectory. Also the simulator is developed by applying the principle of inverted pendulum to acquisite the center of gravity. As we use this simulator, we can get the best appropriate angle of ankle or pelvic when the robot lifts up its one side leg during the walking. We implement the walking motions which is based on the data(angle) getting from both of simulators. The robot can be controlled by text shaped command through RF signal of wireless modem which is connected with laptop computer by serial cable.

정도관리용 생체기준물질 중의 극미량원소에 대한 분석법을 확립하였다. 생체시료를 질산-과산화수소 혼합산화제와 함께 테플론 가압분해용기에 넣어 마이크로파 오븐에서 분해하는 시료전처리법(microwave digestion)을 사용하였다. 시료를 분해시키기 전에 정량할 극미량금속의 안정 동위원소를 첨가하여 동위원소희석 질량분석법을 적용하였다. 혈액과 소나무잎 기준물질에 이러한 분석방법을 적용하여 기준값과 일치되는 결과를 얻었다. An analytical method has been developed to determine trace elements in biological samples. The biological samples are added to a laboratory-bulit Teflon bomb together with nitric acid-hydrogen peroxide mixture and enriched stable isotopes. The samples are decomposed in a microwave oven. The decomposed sample solutions are analyzed by isotope dilution inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The analytical results of the biological samples agree well with the reference values.
