대화체 사설시조의 극적 성격과 그 의미 - 명대 악부민가와의 비교를 중심으로 -

이 글은 명대 악부민가와의 비교를 중심으로 대화체 사설시조의 극적 성격과 그 의미를 살피는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 화자의 유형에 따른 대화의 양상을 세 가지로 살펴보았다. 이때 대화가 단순한 수사적 장치가 아닌 경우에는, 그것은 사회적 담론의 대립을 의미한다. 한편 ‘인물’, ‘대화’, ‘대립과 갈등’이라는 세 측면에서 사설시조에 틈입한 극적 성격을 분석하였다. 따라서 사설시조에 대화가 도입되면서 나타난 장르적 성격 변화를 서사적 성격이 아닌, 극적 성격의 측면에서 살피고 그 의미를 생각해 보았다. 이런 가운데 대화체 사설시조의 극적 성격의 강화에 핵심적 요소로 작용한 대화가 사설시조에 끼어들게 된 계기를 다각도로 살펴보았다. 결국 사설시조에 ‘대화’라는 매우 특이한 담론 형식이 끼어든 것은 사설시조와 소설, 판소리, 한시, 민요 등의 여러 인접 장르 사이의 교섭 때문이다. 특히 대화체 사설시조의 극적 성격을 고려할 때, 극문학과의 관련성은 특히 유념할 필요가 있다. 그러나 어떤 점에서는 이런 극적 성격의 틈입은 다름 아닌, 실제 현실의 물질적 질서와 사회적 관계의 텍스트 내적 틈입이라 할 수 있다. 실제 현실이야말로 지극히 극적인 것이기 때문이다.

중국어 담화의 대화함축 분석

본 논문은 1975년 Grice에 의해서 제기된 함축이론에 기초하여 중국어사회에서 사용되는 여러 가지 담화의 대화함축 현상을 살펴보았다. 우선 함축의 유형을 고정함축(관습적 의미)과 대화함축으로 구분하고, 중국어 실례를 들어 설명하였다. Grice의 대화의 협력원리내부의 네 가지 격률의 특징과 대화함축의 네 가지 특성을 설명하고, 현대중국어사회의 남녀 간의 일상대화와 남녀 간의 감정대립이 두드러진 소설 《红楼梦》속의 내용을 실례로 들어 대화함축 현상을 살펴보았다.

유마경의 격발성 언어 기교와 침묵의 대화법

『유마경』은 대표적인 대승경전 가운데 하나이다. 많은 대승경전이 철학적이거나 종교적인 색채가 농후한 데 비해 『유마경』은 에피소드(episode)로 가득하다. 『유마경』은 고대 중국에서 수 차례 번역되었고, 이후 그것은 중국불교뿐만 아니라 중국문화 일반에까지 크게 영향을 끼쳤다. 그것은 거사불교를 견인했고, 중국 문학에도 깊이 관여했다. 특히 『유마경』의 주인공 유마힐이 성문 제자나 보살과 나눈 대화의 방식은 수행의 한 방법으로 선종에까지 영향을 끼쳤다. 본고는 대화법이라는 관점에서 유마힐의 언어 사용을 분석하여 세 가지 특징을 추출했다. 첫째는 유마힐이 행한 ‘상황 설정의 희극성(戱劇性)’이다. 바로 이점 때문에 『유마경』의 서사 방식이 중국문학에 다양하게 활용될 수 있다. 둘째는 대화의 주도자인 유마힐이 발휘한 ‘격발성의 언어 기교’이다. 이는 선종에서 말하는 기변(機辯)과 유사한데, 선문답의 한 연원으로 간주된다. 셋째는 유마힐이 시도한 ‘침묵의 대화법’이다. 유마힐의 침묵은 불이법문을 논하는 과정에서 등장하는데, 그의 침묵은 ‘불이’도 가명이고 결국 그와 관련한 언설은 극복해야 할 것임을 분명히 보여준다. 그리고 본고에서 필자는 『중론』의 논리를 동원하여 불이(不二) 개념의 이론 배경을 분석했다. Particularly noteworthy is the conversational style of Vimalakirti, the central character, which greatly impacted the development of Chinese Zen Buddhism. This paper conducts a linguistic analysis of Vimalakirti, referred to as Vimalakirti, focusing on three distinct characteristics: firstly, the performance of setting the situation orchestrated by Vimalakirti, contributing to the diverse utilization of the narrative style in Chinese literature; secondly, the demonstration of inspirational language skills by Vimalakirti, akin to the concept of Jibian(機辯) in Zen Buddhism, considered an origin of Zen's question-and-answer practices; and thirdly, the silent conversation method attempted by Vimalakirti. His ultimate silence, when questioned about realizing the advaya, signifies that advaya, the core concept of the Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra, is fundamentally a upādāyaprajñapti, highlighting the limitation of linguistic expression. This paper employs the logic of Mūlamadhyamakakārikā to analyze the concept of advaya in the Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra and Vimalakirti's silence.

스몰토크의 언어학적 위상에 대한 소고

Doch da Menschen soziale Wesen sind, nutzen sie ihreSprache ebenfalls dazu, um die Aufmersamkeit der Kommunikationspartner zuerlangen bzw. zu halten. Dementsprechend ist auch die sogenatnnte phatischeFunktion der Sprache von hoher Relevanz. Diese drückt sich im Smalltalk besonders prägnant aus. Entgegen dem Vorurteil, dass Smalltalk nutzlos sei, hilfter, menschliche Beziehungen zu etablieren und aufrechtzuerhalten. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht das Phänomen des Smalltalks aus linguistischerPerspektive. Zuerst werden Malinowskis Ausführungen zur phatischen Funktionder Sprache diskutiert. Dann werden diverse Arten von Smalltalk vor demHintergrund von Paul Grices Konversationsmaximen analysiert, wobei sichherausstellen wird, dass es sich beim Smalltalk um eine eigene Gesprächsform mitgenuinen Regeln handelt. Mit dieser Studie ist die Hoffnung verbunden, derVernachlässigung des Smalltalks als Forschungsthema entgegenzuwirken. 언어의 기능 중 가장 기본적이면서도 중요한 것은 정보 전달 기능이다. 하지만 인간은감정의 동물이므로 성공적인 의사소통을 위해서는 상대방의 감정을 배려하고 좋은 분위기를 만들어야 한다. 이런 점에서 언어의 의례적 기능 또한 정보 전달 기능 못지않게 중요하다. 언어의 의례적 기능이 가장 잘 드러나는 대화유형은 바로 스몰토크이다. 무의미하고 쓸데없다는 편견과 달리, 스몰토크는 인간관계를 확립하고 유지하는 데 일조함으로써 일종의사회적 가교역할을 한다. 본 논문의 목적은 특히 학문 분야에서 평가절하된 스몰토크의 위상을 높이는 데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 언어의 의례적 기능에 주목한 다음, 스몰토크의 개념을 스몰토크의 구성요소와 더불어 다각도로 살펴보고, 스몰토크가 하나의 독립적인 대화형식으로서 나름의 규칙과 체계성을 지니고 있다는 점을 그라이스의 대화격률과 공손격률에 기대어 규명하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 언어학적 분석대상으로서의 스몰토크의가치는 향후 스몰토크의 연구가 다방면으로 수행되는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

對話 原理와 文化的 受容性

The purpose of this study is to explain that principles of conversation depend on the cultural acceptability. The principles of conversation don't have Universal features that can be applied to any language. Grice's Conversational Maxim and Leech's Principles of Politeness are so idealistic that is difficult to apply for analysing the real conversation. People don't cooperate each other always in real conversation and don't try to polite to other people who meet first time in general. Therefore, the analysis of conversation carry through according to the situation of conversation. The conversation is motivated by desire which one wants to accomplish their thought. So they want to speak to other people with thier desire at first. Their own desire is suppressed by situation of conversation unconsciously. If two people communicate each other very well, they might be understood situation of conversation well. The situation of conversation based on specific culture. After all, principles of conversation depend on cultural acceptability.

영어 시트콤 담화텍스트상의 유머 생성기제

유머는 대화상에서 매우 중요한 역할을 담당하나, 그 연구는 아직 광범위하게 연구되지 못한 측면이 있다. 유머의 문화적 측면, 심리적 측면, 언어적 측면 등에 대해 독자적으로 이루어진 개별 연구들이 있긴 하지만, 그 복잡성으로 인해 체계적인 연구가 이루어지지 못했다. 본 연구에서는 유머 담화의 어떤 언어학적 기제가 웃음을 유발하는지를 언어학적 측면에서 접근해 보았다. 특히 많은 담화 텍스트 가운데, 영어 시트콤 를 분석하여, 시트콤 속에 나타나는 유머의 양상을 규명하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 먼저 유머와 유머 담화의 기본적 정의와 유머 담화의 구조에 대해서 간략히 알아보았다. 또한 유머 담화의 보편적 기제를 알아보았으며, 이를 바탕으로 부조화 이론에 초점을 두고 공손전략과 격률의 위배로 인한 웃음 유발 기제를 살펴보았다. 일반적으로 원만한 의사소통 시 일어날 수 있는 갈등을 줄이기 위해 체면위협행위를 최소화하는 방향으로 진행되지만, 오히려 유머담화에서는 체면위협행위를 웃음 유발을 위해 사용되는 기제로 작용하며, 이 기제에 의한 설명 가능성이 상당히 높은 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 Grice의 네 가지 격률 위배로 인한 웃음 유발 효과에 대한 논의를 검토하였다. 이 네 가지 격률 가운데서는 관계의 격률 위배에 의한 웃음 유발 효과가 가장 두드러진 것으로 나타났다. 또한 질의 격률 위배의 경우는 시트콤 속의 에피소드 속의 주제에 따라 많은 차이를 보이고 있고, 양의 격률 위배는 주로 울타리 표현과 연관되는 경우가 많음을 알 수 있었다. The purpose of this paper is to explore how positive and negative Face-Threatening Acts(FTA) and the violation of Gricean maxims are related to humor. Humor is one of the ways of human communications which make people laugh. We have analysed some segments of , which is a kind of sitcom comedies. We have argued the followings. First, we need to base our studies on the incongruity theory, which is considered as most promising. Second, we have argued that the two main mechanisms are involved in the analysis of the humor in the sitcom. It is shown that the FTA analysis of humor plays a role as important as the analysis by conversational maxims, since the nearly equal numbers of instances of humor are accounted for by the FTA analysis. Third, it is shown that the maxim of relation plays more important role than any other maxims, since we can find the most instances of humor which is accounted for by the maxim of relation. This study is limited to the analysis of linguistic devices of humor, and we have relied on the two linguistic mechanisms of analysis. More comprehensive studies of humor need to be done in the future.

번역연구에서 그라이스 대화 격률의 유용성

프랑스 광고 속에 드러난 함축의미의 화용론적 연구 -Grice의 대화격률 위배사례를 중심으로-

L`implicitation est l`un des domaines les plus importants dans l`etude pragmatique. D`apres Grice, l`implicitation se manifeste surtout quand il y a de la transgression des maximes conversationnelles. Il nous parait d`interessant de decouvrir la signification implicitee dans la transgression. Pour cela, nous avons choisi, comme corpus d`analyse, des publicites francaises, puisque la publicite est l`une des spheres les plus representatives ou se manifestent tres compactement divers exemples d`implicitation. Notre analyse a ete centree sur l`implicitation conversationnelle qui releve du domaine pragmatique. Dans le cadre de l`implicitation conversationnelle generalisee, nous avons examine comment sont employes les operateurs argumentatifs de la scalarite quantitative. Ils sont constitues des lexiques situes en haut de l`echelle argumentative (tous, toujours, le plus, etc.), et orientent l`argumentation publicitaire vers la direction positive (+). Dans le cadre de l`implicitation conversationnelle particuliere, nous avons analyse les cas qui violent expres des regles conversationnelles de Grice. La transgression de la regle de qualite, consideree la plus inviolable parmi les 4 regles, s`opere pour produire des effets discursifs inattendus au detriment du sens vericonditionnel. La violation de la regle de quantite se produit au cas ou l`on offre trop d`(ou peu d`)informations dans la publicite. La strategie publicitaire de BENETTON montre de bonnes exemples de la transgression de la regle de relation. Ses publicites exploitent commercialement des images socialement choquantes, pour attirer les regards des consommateurs. La violation de la regle de modalite est la plus souvent enregistree dans des publicites francaises. L`ambiguite d`expression ou l`ambivalence sont deployes pour produire des effets discursifs interessants. Ainsi, constatons-nous clairement que la communication est accomplie plus par la base de la valeur argumentative ("par ce qui est implicite") que par celle de la valeur informative ("par ce qui est dit"), comme le souligne Grice dans sa theorie d`implicitation.

문진에서 의사의 ‘반사 발화’의 대화기능

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the conversational functions of reflecting utterances of doctors during medical interviews. Methods: The data consists of doctor-patient conversations during 50 medical interviews which were recorded and transcribed. Each reflecting utterance of the doctors was assigned to an informational function according to its contribution in gathering important information. The empathic aspect was also taken into account. Results: As for the information dimension, 8 information accommodating functions were revealed: reflecting utterances were commonly a request for confirmation of some relevant information through selecting, supplementing, summarizing, disambiguating, paraphrasing, expanding, specifying, and completing the received information. A couple of functions such as expression of surprise, empathy, and personal concern were identified at the relational dimension. Conclusion: Because the doctor continuously attempts to obtain more information regarding the symptoms of the patient during the medical interview, the maximally efficient exchange of information must be the ultimate goal pursued in doctor-patient conversation. The frequent appearance of reflecting utterances can be explained from this perspective. It can be also suggested that the reflecting utterances could contribute to the management of interpersonal relationships as they give the impression of personal involvement.
