      • Development of a noninvasive KIM-1-based live-imaging technique in the context of a drug-induced kidney-injury mouse model

        The development of reliable methods to diagnose acute kidney injury is essential to allow the adoption of early therapeutic interventions and evaluate their effectiveness. Based on the fact that kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) expression levels in kidneys are markedly upregulated early after a damage event, here we developed a noninvasive KIM- 1-based molecular imaging technique to detect kidney injury. First, we took advantage of a phage-display platform to select small peptides demonstrating a specific high binding affinity to KIM-1. The promising candidate was conjugated with fluorescent probes, and its imaging potential was validated in vitro and in vivo. This peptide, with the sequence CNRRRA, not only showed a high imaging potential in vitro, allowing a strong detection of KIM-1 expressing cells by microscopy and flow cytometry but also generated a strong kidney-specific signal in live-imaging in vivo experiments in the context of a drug-induced kidney-injury mouse model. Our data overall suggest that the CNRRRA peptide is a promising probe to use in the context of in vivo imaging for the detection of KIM-1 overexpression in damaged kidneys.

      • 유제놀에 의한 즉시형 알레르기 반응의 억제

        The current study evaluates the capacity of eugenol to regulate immediate allergic reaction by control of histamine release. Administrations of eugenol (1 M/kg. i.p.) at 60 min before and 5.10 min after the compound 48/80 treatment (8 mg/kg.i.p.) were shown the mortality rates as 0.44.4. and 77.8%. respectively. A 60 min before administered group revealed a singificant inhibition of serum his-tamine release compared with those of 5 and 10 min after the compound 48/80 injection. Eugenol (6-48mM) was also showed a dose-dependent activity on the compound 48/80-induced histamine release from the highly purified population of Alcian Blue-positive peritoneal mast cells. These results indicate that in vitro treatment with exogenous eugenol inhibited the active response of mast cell populations and modulated its characteristics.

        SLIS(Software License Integrated Solution) is composed of the 6 parts, Server Agent, Web Server, Client Agent, Client Manager, Service, and Install Shield. For the most part of the project is developed based on MFC platform except for the one, Client Manager, which is built on DDK(Driver Development Kit) and ASP. NET platform. Client Agent program installed on a customer's computer is implemented in 14 different classes. Its main function is able to limit and uninstall the purchased software by using teminateProcess. The purchased softwares expiration dates on customer's computer is being monitored by both Server agent and Client software itself. Client Manager hides the process of Client Agent program which shouldn't be killed by manipulating Process List in Kernel through DDK. To do this, Client Manager is internally implanted and registered in Windows Service to be ran as a part of windows system.

        Slot hoods are most commonly used to provide uniform exhaust air flow and an adequate capture velocity over finite length of contaminant generation, e.g. an open surface tank or over the face of a large hood such as a side-draft design. The function of the slot is solely to provide uniform air distribution. Industrial Ventilation Manual edited by ACGIH (American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists) recommended the conditions to obtain uniform air distribution . slot velocity higher than 10m/s and take-off angle larger than 45 degree. But, in reality, it might not be an easy task to satisfy the conditions for uniform air distribution. By using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), the 81 cases (3 aspect ratios x 3 mean slot velocities x 3 take-off angles x 3 duct velocities) were thus simulated and the coefficients of variance were computed to compare the uniformity of slot face velocities. Generally speaking, either aspect ratio or duct velocity do not affect the uniformity a lot while both slot velocity and take-off angle play a crucial role in forming uniform air distribution.

        Associations of serotonergic genes with poststroke emotional incontinence

        <P><B>Objectives</B></P><P>Poststroke emotional incontinence (PSEI) has been associated with serotonergic dysfunction. Polymorphisms of serotonin transporter (5‐HTT) and serotonin 2a receptor (5‐HTR2a) genes may regulate serotonergic signaling at brain synapses, and this study was to investigate associations with PSEI in an East Asian population.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>In 276 stroke cases, PSEI was diagnosed by Kim's criteria. Covariates included age, gender, education, history of depression or stroke, current depression, and stroke severity and location. Genotypes were ascertained for 5‐HTT gene‐linked promoter region (5‐HTTLPR), serotonin transporter intron 2 variable number tandem repeat, 5‐HTR2a 1438A/G, and 5‐HTR2a 102 T/C. Associations with PSEI were estimated by using logistic regression models, and gene–gene interactions were investigated by using the generalized multifactor dimensionality reduction method.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>PSEI was present in 37 (13.4%) patients. The 5‐HTT gene‐linked promoter region <I>s</I>/<I>s</I> genotype was independently associated with PSEI. No associations with STin2 VNTR and 5‐HTR2a genes were found, and no significant gene–gene interactions were identified.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Stroke patients with 5‐HTTLPR <I>s</I> allele had higher susceptibility to PSEI, which underlines the potential role of serotonergic pathways in its etiology.         비혈연간 동종골수이식은 혈연간 동종골수이식이 불가능한 환자에서 기존의 면역역제요법으로 효과가 없었던 경우나 재발한 경우에 적응증이 될수 있다. 이식 거부와 이식편대숙주병의 발생이 골수 이식의 성공률을 감소시키므로, 보다 강력한 conditioning regimen의 사용과 T cell이 제거된 골수를 사용하는 것이 필요하다. 기존의 high dose corticosteroid나 cyclosporine에 대하여 불응성인 이식편대숙주병의 치료를 위해서 ATG와 Mycophenolate mofetil (Cellcept®) 의 사용이나 Tacrolimus, Methotrexate와 같은 다른 면역억제제치료를 고려해 볼 수 있다. It is known that allogenic bone marrow transplantation is the most effective treatment for aplastic anemia. However, this treatment is only applicable to a minority of patients because the proportion of patients who have HLA-matched siblings about 25% to 30% of all the aplastic anemia patients. In the case of the absence of HLA-matched donor, unrelated allogenic bone marrow transplantation is considered. However, (because of severe acute and chronic GVHD and graft failure) the success rate of this approach is only 20~30%. Recently, it was reported that increased immunosuppressive condition combined with T cell depletion of the marrow graft would result in greater success. There was no case of successfully treated aplastic anemia patient by unrelated allogenic bone marrow transplantation in Korea. Here, we report a case of severe aplastic anemia successfully treated with unrelated allogenic bone marrow transplantation.

      • Application of Artificial Insemination Technology for Dairy Breeding in Mongolia

        This study was focused on improvement of milk production in Mongolia dairy industry by artificial insemination (AI) technology, of which was supported from ODA project of KOICA in Republic of Korea. The study was started from January 2009 to present and 3rd years in this year. So, all data, especially synchronization and pregnancy of dairy cows (Holstein) will be summarized in final result in this year. For synchronization, total 81 dairy cows selected from 4 private farms that were 38, 30, 8 and 5 in Undarmal milk, Onjin (Enkhbayer), Jargalant, and BRM School, respectively. All the dairy cows were injected intramuscular (IM) of 5 ml PGF2α in the vulva and detected estrus 2 to 3 days after PGF2α injection. Total 78 out of 81 dairy cows (96.3%) were detected estrus by only 1 time injection of PGF2α. The dairy cows that were induced estrus, inseminated with 0.5 ml dairy frozen semen by conventional AI techniques. The pregnancy diagnosis of the AI dairy cows was detected by uterus palpation after 60 days of insemination. Total 75 from 78 inseminated dairy cows (90.1%) were diagnosis pregnant. The estrus induction and pregnant rate were very effective using PGF2α injection and conventional AI techniques in Mongolia dairy cow. The results indicated that AI after estrus induction in Mongolia dairy cows could be applied to dairy breeding technology to improve the breeding efficiency and milk production.

        일본 '백화파'에 대한 한일 비교문학적 연구 : 이광수와 김동인을 중심으로 Mainly Lee Kwang-Soo and Kim Dong-In

        After this treatise grasped the point that a character of the Baekhwa school was idealism, egoism, illuminism, and art for art’s sake, it investigated what appearances that these thoughts had reflected on the Korean modern literature to make Lee Kwang-Soo and Kim Dong-In two pivot objects of study. They, Lee Kwang-Soo and Kim Dong-In met with works and thoughts of the Baekhwa school writers to go to Japan about the time when they played an important role in the Japanese literary world. But they who had quite different characters and thoughts accepted the Baekhwa school through a different logical connection with each other. When He, Lee Kwang-Soo had met with works, he formed an enlightenment consciousness of idealism, and Kim Dong-In egoism and art for art’s sake. The Baekhwa school is the representative writers in the Japanese idealism. They are an important writers from the viewpoint of on the comparative literature of Korea & Japan novel because the Baekhwa school had an effect on two writers who formed the basis of the Korean modern novel. We find out that the Baekhwa school had an enormous effect on the Korean literature if we will consider a relative importance Lee Kwang-Soo and Kim Dong-In have come into possession of the history of Korean novel.

      • 멀티 플랫폼상의 컴포넌트 연동 방법 연구

        소프트웨어 개발 방법론이 객체지향개발 방법론(OOD : Object Oriented Development)에서 점차 컴포넌트 기반 개발 방법론(CBD : Component Based Development)으로 변화되어 가는 추세이다. 경험이 많은 개발자에 의해 개발된 컴포넌트는 소프트웨어 재사용이 뛰어나고, 이미 많은 곳에서 사용 중이므로 안정성 및 신뢰성이 인정된다. 하지만 개발언어와 플랫폼의 특성에 따라 컴포넌트의 조합에 있어 어려움이 따른다. 이에 본 연구에서는 HTTP와 XML을 이용하여 개발언어와 플랫폼에 독립적으로 컴포넌트를 조합할 수 있는 방안에 대해 연구하고 기존의 컴포넌트에 HTTP와 XML을 이용한 컴포넌트 호출을 보인다.
