Purpose : The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean version of Partners In Health scale (PIH-K) which is used to measure the self-management of patients with chronic illnesses in Korea. Methods : Translation of the 12-item PIH-K was conducted according to the World Health Organization guidelines. Data from 306 participants who took medicines over 3 months by doctor's prescription were collected from October to November 2017. Validity such as content validity, construct validity, and concurrent validity were conducted using content validity index (CVI), exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses (CFA). To evaluate concurrent validity, the correlation coefficients between the PIH-K and concurrent scales (Self-As-Carer Inventory) were calculated. The reliability of the PIH-K was examined using the internal consistency and test-retest reliability tests. Results : The CVI of the PIH-K was 0.91. According to the CFA, factor loadings for four factors ranged from .64 to .97, which explained 67.5% of the total variance. The PIH-K was significantly correlated with concurrent variables such as those on the Self-As-Carer Inventory. The Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .86 and the intraclass correlation coefficient for the two-week test-retest reliability was .88. Conclusion : Findings show that the PIH-K is reliable and valid in measuring self-management of patients with chronic illnesses.

뱀(Snake) 상징에 대한 연구

인간의 역사, 문화와 함께 오늘날까지 변함없이 존재하고 있는 것이 상징이다. 인간 생활의 변화 속에서 상징이 주는 의미는 시대에 따라 재해석되고 확장된다. 이는 우리의 정신세계를 연결해 주는 다리 역할을 하고 있다. 모래놀이치료에서 모래상자에 담겨 있는 투사물은 각각의 고유한 이미지를 담고 있다. 우리는 특히 뱀을 보면 일반적으로 위협적인 동물이라고 생각하여 순간적으로 피하게 된다. 이러한 이미지로 인해 뱀이 내포하고 있는 상징성을 제대로 이해하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 뱀의 상징을 생물학적 특성과 함께 민담, 신화, 설화, 속담을 통해 그 의미를 살펴보았다. 뱀은 첫째 불사의 존재로서 신성성, 둘째 허물을 벗는 생물학적 특징으로 재생과 변환 및 치유, 셋째 선과 악, 성의 창조성의 지혜, 넷째 뱀이 새끼나 알을 많이 낳는 특성과 모양이 변하므로 달과 비유되는 여성성 및 다산과 풍요, 다섯째 용이 되기 위한 뱀의 보은, 마지막으로 인간을 유혹해서 죄를 짓게 하므로 욕망과 악의 상징성으로 나누었다. 이것을 바탕으로 모래놀이 치료과정에서 드러난 뱀의 상징성과 연결해보았다. 5세 남아는 자신의 무의식에서 뱀의 신성한 힘의 도움을 받아 자아를 강화하였다. 고등학교 2학년 여학생은 집을 나오면 뱀 같은 일이 일어난다. 이때의 뱀은 유혹하는 악의 이미지로 부정적 상징이 되었다. 그리고 54세 중년 여성은 자신의 내면에 있는 혐오스러운 존재들이 뱀으로 나타났다. 내담자는 보고 싶지 않은 부정적 이미지를 뱀을 통해 직면하며 정화의 눈물을 흘렸다. 내담자들은 모래상자에 투사된 뱀을 통해 자신 안에 있는 깊은 내면세계와 소통하고 있었고, 자신의 에너지 흐름에 따라 의미 있는 상징성을 보여주었다. 그 결과 뱀의 다양한 상징성과 상징적 의미 고찰이 되었다. It is a symbol that still exists with human history and culture to this day. The meaning of symbols in the changes in human life is reinterpreted and expanded according to the times. It serves as a bridge to connect our mental world. In sand play therapy, the projections in the sand box contain unique images of each. In particular, when we see snakes, we generally think they are threatening animals and avoid them momentarily. Due to this image, it is very important to properly understand the symbolism of snakes. In present study, the meaning of snake symbols was examined through folktales, myths, tales, and proverbs along with biological characteristics. Snakes were divided into the first sacred character as the existence of immortality, the second regeneration, transformation and healing as a biological feature of taking off the cast skin of snake, the third wisdom of good, evil, and sexual creativity, fourth femininity, fertility and abundance that is compared to the moon as snakes because of the characteristics laying a lot of babies or eggs and change of shape, the fifth repayment of kindness to become a dragon, finally, the symbols of desire and evil because they tempt men to sin. Based on this, we linked it to the symbolism of snakes revealed in the sand play treatment process. The 5-year-old boy was strengthening his ego with the help of the sacred power of the snake in his unconscious. A high school sophomore girl says something like a snake happens when she leaves her home. The snake at this time became a negative symbol with the image of tempting evil. And a 54-year-old middle-aged woman has found the repulsive beings inside her as snakes. The client shed tears of purification, facing a negative image that she did not want to see through a snake. The clients were communicating with the deep inner world in themselves through snakes projected in sand boxes, and showed meaningful symbolism according to their energy flow. As a result, it became a review of the various symbolism and symbolic meanings of snakes.

『오만과 편견』의 역설적 비전: 장자상속제의 문학적 재현

Pride and Prejudice is well known for its heroine`s moral and social growth. In addition, it ends with a romantic marriage based on personal affection, not on any material motive or familial interests. However, Austen was not a naive or daydreaming novelist, as is evident from her letters to her niece, Fanny Knight. In one of the letters, Austen states that “single women have a dreadful propensity for being poor, which is one very strong argument in favour of matrimony.” This propensity is attributable to the special kind of inheritance system in England, which limited an inheritance to the eldest son. As a material basis for almost all the people`s lives and consciousness in the novel, this social system, the practice of primogeniture or entail, causes many troubles to those in the novel, especially female characters. Women in material crisis have no choice but to marry whoever offers marriage to them, as is shown especially in the cases of the Bennet daughters` search for husbands and of Charlotte Lucas`s decision to marry Collins “solely from the pure and disinterested desire of an establishment.” In short, although her treatment of it is not only light and comic but also paradoxical, it is apparent that Austen`s concern with the inhuman and antifeministic inheritance system and its effect on women`s existence is very great.

제인 오스틴의 『설득』에 나타난 변화

This essay explores Jane Austen`s perception of the social changes and their resulting change in values of her time in her last complete novel, Persuasion. Through discussing some issues related with the changes, this essay aims to reveal Austen`s awareness of the strained relation between the old vision of society and the new one and contend that the deep-seated prejudice that Austen was without any historical and social consciousness is not true, after all. In Persuasion, Austen portrays the picture of society in transition where the old values conflict with the new ones and the traditional landed class hands over the cental position to the newly emerged class. The bankruptcy of Elliots, the gentry clinging to the traditional values, symbolizes the disabled patriarchal society. However, the change is represented as improvement and those who accept the change and avail themselves of the time can be the new main axis of the society. In addition, Austen shows a new and concrete vision of the womanhood. The model of a new woman represented in Persuasion is not central to its narrative, but her presence is very revealing in that she is presented as a desirable figure for all her unfeminine qualities.

『오만과 편견』에 나타난 희극적 전복성

This paper aims to examine the correlation between the comic elements and author`s feminist perspective in Pride and Prejudice, one of the most popular novels of Jane Austen. As Audrey Bilger properly observes, at a time when overt feminist statements could ruin a woman`s reputation, comedy enables certain authors to "smuggle" feminism into their writing. Among the above mentioned authors is Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice is the most remarkable as a subversive novel among her writings for its feminist tactics and the comic elements, which have offered the consistent popularity to Pride and Prejudice. The comic elements include irony, parody, satire, and unconventional characters, etc. The women characters deviating from the feminine ideals are also created with the purpose of criticizing the society. For instance, the heroine of this novel is without strict class consciousness, and in this sense, very unconventional. Another female character, though minor, laughs and makes the conventional sense of virtue worthless by committing improprieties. In short, the tactics employed in Pride and Prejudice compose a double vision in the novel and contribute to making Pride and Prejudice a subversive comedy. There are basically two conflicting standpoints in the novel. While the first-person narrator pretends to conform to the values and views that suppress women and their self-expression, the other persona inherent in the novel assumes critical attitude toward the ideological pressure on women. In particular, the literary device of irony enables readers to laugh at and criticize the absurdity and injustice inherent in the patriarchal society which distorts the femininity and in which women are supposed to be inferior to men in their social status.

『노생거 사원』에 나타난 이중적 서술과 여주인공의 성장

“The crisis of values” marked the period in which Jane Austen worked as a female writer. This was so because many prejudices had been eliminated and yet still many values coexisted. One of the most remarkable things in Austen`s time was the attempt to redefine the notion of femininity by feminist writers, which was closely related with the cultural milieu in which women emerged as producers as well as consumers in the literary market. The literary world was, however, still under the control of male writers. So not only was there the ideological pressure on women`s self-expression, but also writing a novel seemed too improper a career for women. Therefore Austen employed a strategy of indirect discourse to gain approval from the public about her narrative of women`s experience in her time, the narrative device of a double vision. So there are two conflicting standpoints in her novel. While the first-person narrator in the novel pretends to conform to the values and views that suppress women and their self-expression, the other persona assumes critical attitude toward the ideological pressure on women. Northanger Abbey, in particular, has a double structure of meaning, and by so doing reveals Austen`s awareness of the strained relation between the old vision of society and the new one of it. In particular, the central concern in the novel is with the conflict between the conservative view of femininity and its new interpretation. Its “official” plot parodies the improbable and sentimental romance. The first-person narrator portrays Catherine, the heroine of the novel, as a simple, immature girl. But Austen`s real motive is to attack the patriarchal society whose false moral standard, the domestic ideology, confuses women`s sense of identity and weakens their autonomy in the society.

신규 간호사의 관계지향(Reinforcement of Resilience and Relation) 프로그램 개발

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a program for reinforcing the resilience of new nurses and relation-oriented organizational culture. Methods: An Intervention Research (IR) model was used to develop a program. Literature review, focus group interviews with nurses and need surveys were conducted from August to December 2018. Based on the results of the investigation, the researcher developed the content of a program. The program was revised by nurse managers for the content validation. Results: According to the results of the need surveys, 58.8% of the participants thought relation-oriented culture was the most ideal, and 61.8% of the participants wanted to participate in a program for organizational culture improvement. In the focus group interview, not only new nurses but also wards and nursing organizations should be a target subject of the program. Reinforcement of resilience and relation (3R) program was developed as a one-year course, which includes a ‘mentor-mentee’ program and a ‘thanks’ program. Conclusion: It would contribute to improving the resilience of new nurses and creating a relation-oriented organizational culture by 3R program. The 3R program could play a role as expanded program from an existing pragmatic short-term training program for improving the competencies or communication skills of new nurses.

고등학교에서의 독서활동 평가는 ‘미래사회가 요구하는 창의적인 학생’을 선발하고자 하는 입학사정관 제도에 부합한다. 또한 장기적으로 학교가 발전하기 위해서 다양한 지식과 통섭의 능력을 갖추고 창의성을 겸비한 지도자를 배출하는 것에 역점을 두고자 할 때 학생의 장기적 독서 활동을 점검하여 선발하는 과정이 반드시 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 고등학교의 학교생활기록부와 창의적 체험활동 종합지원 시스템을 통해 학생의 장기적인 독서활동을 평가할 수 있는 기준을 개발하고 이 기준에 근거하여 현재 시행 중인 대학입학사정관제에 독서 특기자를 연계시킬 수 있는 방법을 구안한다. 학교생활기록부를 통해 수집 가능한 정보는 수상경력, 봉사활동실적, 자격증 및 인증점수, 임원경력 등이다. 그리고 창의적 체험활동 종합지원 시스템을 통해서는 동아리 활동(독서 관련), 봉사활동(도서관 봉사), 독서활동(독서노트 작성), 방과 후 활동(특기 적성), 자율 활동(행사-대론대회 참석), 진로활동(자격증, 진로 탐색)을 파악할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 두 부분으로 나눈다. 학교생활기록부에 의한 점수 산출은 객관적 자료가 가능하기 때문에 비교적 용이하다. 그에 비해 창의적 체험활동 종합지원 시스템은 학생의 자율적인 활동이 핵심이기 때문에 그 진정성을 검토하기 위한 심층적인 기준이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 학교생활기록부와 창의적 체험활동 종합지원 시스템에 의해 학생의 장기적인 독서활동을 평가할 수 있는 기준을 모색한다. Evaluation of reading activity in high-school is in accord of the admission officer system in selecting ‘creative students of whom a future society demands’ It is essential to check students’ long-term reading activities and have a selection process for a long range development of school with the emphasis put on to produce a creative leader who has a wide knowledge and an ability of consilience. Through a ‘comprehensive support system of creative experience program’, this study develops a standard to evaluate students’ long-term reading activities, which then discerns a way to connect the current system of admission officer system and students-in-talent with reading, based on the standard suggested above. Available information that can be gathered through a student record is number of awards, status of voluntary work, certification and experience of student board. And through a comprehensive system of creative experience program, following activities can be measured: club activity (reading related), voluntary work (library duty), reading activity (making out reading note), after school work (specialty and aptitude), free activity (attending debate competition) and career activity (certification,careerexploration). Therefore this study is composed of two main parts. Thanks to the objective information given, grading on the basis of student record is relatively simple. However, for grading on the basis of comprehensive system of creative experience system, an in-depth standard is required to review its validity since students’ self-determination is a core factor to be measured. This study seeks a standard that can measure students’ long-term reading activity by student records and a comprehensive system of creative experience program.

로스팅 단계에 따른 아라비카 커피(Coffea arabica) 원두의 형태 및 총 폴리페놀, 카페인, 클로로겐산의 함량 변화

지구 온난화로 인해 커피는 기존 재배지인 커피 벨트 이외의 한국, 일본 등의 온대 기후대에서 재배가 시도되고 있다. 국내 환경에서 재배된 커피의 품질을 조사하기 위해 형태학적 변화, 총 폴리페놀, 카페인, 클로로겐산의 함량을 아라비카 커피 3품종(‘Catuai’, ‘Caturra’, ‘Geisha’)에서 로스팅 단계별(green bean, 1st crack, 2nd crack)로 확인하였다. 실험에 사용된 모든 품종에서 로스팅 이후 부피가 커지고 중량은 감소하였다. 모든 시료에서 검출된 총 폴리페놀의 함량은 평균 13.74 mg gallic acid equivalent/g dry weight였다. 그러나 품종, 로스팅 단계, 이 두 요인 간의 상호작용에 의한 함량 변화는 없었다. 카페인 함량은 ‘Catuai’ 원두에서 로스팅 전보다 로스팅 후에 유의하게 감소하였다. 모든 품종의 원두에서 클로로겐산은 로스팅 전보다 로스팅 후에 그 함량이 상당히 감소했다. 본 연구의 결과는 현재 국내에서 생산되는 커피에 대한 자료가 미비한 시점에서 커피의 기초 품질에 관한 정보를 제공할 것으로 생각된다. 또한 국내뿐만 아니라 온대 기후대에서의 커피 재배 가능성과 소득작물로서 시사하는 바이다. Coffee comprises of numerous bioactive compounds, and has recently been cultivated in temperate regions. We investigated the morphological and phytochemical changes in beans of Coffea arabica cvs. Catuai, Caturra, and Geisha cultivated in the Republic of Korea, at three roasting stages: green bean, 1st crack, and 2nd crack. Morphological changes were estimated by considering the size parameters and weights. Total polyphenols were determined using spectrophotometry, and caffeine and chlorogenic acid were quantified using high-performance liquid chromatography with the appropriate standards. Increased volume and decreased weight were observed in the beans of all three cultivars after roasting. The content of total polyphenols was about 13.74 mg gallic acid equivalent/g dry weight. The analysis of variance revealed that the contents of total polyphenols was insignificant among the cultivars and there was no significant change in the roasting stages. Compared to green bean, decreased contents of caffeine were obtained in the 1st crack and 2nd crack of ‘Catuai’. Chlorogenic acid contents were dramatically decreased in the 1st and 2nd crack of all three cultivars, as compared to green bean. Among the cultivars, ‘Geisha’ showed maximum decrease in chlorogenic acid (about 96%, 1.87 mg/mL) at 2nd crack, compared to the green bean (44.72 mg/mL). These results provide information about the characteristics of various coffee cultivars grown in the Republic of Korea during roasting.
