Atomic Vacancies in two-dimensional tungsten disulfide (WS<sub>2</sub>) can be primary contributors to charge-carrier scattering, doping effects varying optical properties. [1,2,3] At the specific chemical vapor deposition condition, tungsten or sulfur vacancies in WS<sub>2</sub> are arisen with a hexagonal domain growth. In detail, the photoluminescence (PL) in these WS<sub>2</sub> flakes exhibits the alternating bright and dark PL emission along with the heterogeneous defect domains. As well, the contact potential difference in the WV domains was larger than the SV domains in the Scanning Kelvin Probe Microscopy measurement.

N/A Objective : The birth weight distributions are obtained to be classified according to the duration of pregnancy, and then compared with other results already published in literature to verify the difference. Methods : A total of 17,291 deliveries in Gachon medical center hospital from January 1996 to December 1999 is retrospectively reviewed. The data of 28∼42th week of gestation are analysed, and the 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th and 90th percentiles of birth weight are determined for each week and also according to sex and parity. Furthermore the 10th, 50th, 90th percentiles are compared with those from other reports. Results : 1. The 10th, 50th, 90th percentiles of birth weight classifed according to gestational age are as follow : in 28th week of pregnancy, 1,068, 1,240 and 1,812 g; in 32th week, 1,470, 1,890 and 2,266 g; in 36th week, 2,170, 2,720 and 3,240 g; in 40th week, 2,910, 3,370 and 3,870 g; in 42th week, 2,977, 3,475 and 4,023 g. 2. The mean birth weight of the male neonates is greater than that of the female ones from 37th week to 41th week (p<0.01). 3. Comparisons of 10th, 50th, 90th percentiles of birth weight with Park groups show that there is an increase of birth weight by 100∼144 g. Conclusion : Comparison of the birth weight-gestational age table with ones published by other groups shows that infants tend to be heavier.
Efficacy and Safety of a Large Conjunctival Autograft for Recurrent Pterygium

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pterygium excision using a large conjunctival autograft for the treatment of recurrent pterygium. Methods: The medical records of 120 patients (126 eyes) with recurrent pterygium were reviewed. For each affected eye, pterygium excision with a large conjunctival autograft was performed. The graft was harvested from the superior bulbar area and measured more than 8 × 10 mm in size. Only patients who completed at least six months of follow-up were included. Postoperative clinical outcomes, recurrence rate, and complications were analyzed. Patients with any evidence of recurrence after surgery received a subconjunctival bevacizumab injection. Results: The average patient age was 56.5 ± 10.2 years, and 45 out of 120 patients were male. The mean study follow-up period was 17.7 ± 17.6 months. Most patients were satisfied with the cosmetic outcome. Postoperative visual acuity improved from 0.69 to 0.75 (p < 0.05). Postoperative refractive astigmatism and corneal astigmatism decreased by 0.55 and 2.73 diopters, respectively (p < 0.05). The postoperative recurrence rate was 4.0%, and the average recurrence period was 7.4 ± 0.6 weeks. A subconjunctival injection of 5 mg bevacizumab was performed in cases of recurrence; no progression of the pterygium was observed following the injection. Postoperative complications included 2 cases of conjunctival graft edema in 2 eyes, 5 donor site scars in 5 eyes, 13 pyogenic granulomas in 13 eyes, and a conjunctival epithelial inclusion cyst in 7 eyes. Conclusions: Pterygium excision with a large conjunctival autograft for the treatment of recurrent pterygium produced an excellent cosmetic outcome, a low recurrence rate, and minimal complications. A subconjunctival bevacizumab injection given in cases of recurrence following surgery might be effective in preventing progression of the pterygium.

The breakdown of the Korea-Japan fishing negotiations since 2016 has made it impossible for many domestic fishing vessels to operate in the Japanese EEZ water, and large purse seine fishing vessels are one of them. Mackerel is a highly migratory fish species, circulating in the East China Sea, South Sea, West Sea and East Coast throughout the year, and goes through a period of wintering, spawning, growth and feeding migration. In this study, in order to find out the dependence of large purse seine fishing vessels on mackerel fishing in the Japanese EEZ waters, we analyzed the characteristics of mackerel by large purse seine fisheries in the Japanese EEZ waters from 2010 to 2016. The catch and fishing details were investigated. The total catch of mackerel by large purse seine fishery, the average catch rate of mackerel in Japanese EEZ is 4 percent per year. The amount is estimated at 10.2 billion won per year. Although there was an effect, it was not judged to be a significant factor, and it was found that the amount of catch and fish price in the domestic waters had a greater influence on the total catch than the Japanese EEZ waters.
