        충남대학교 학술림 산책로 훼손실태 및 관리방안에 관한 연구

        This study concentrates an the trail of the CNU(Chungnam National University) forest. The amount of use and the pattern of damage are considered, as well as the extent of environmental damage. Finally, some managerial strategies are proposed in connection with sustainable maintenance. The trail of the university forest is composed of three sections; one is the neighborhood park and the Institute of Information Technology/Communications, the second is the Institute of Information Technology/Communications and the Dormitory, and the third section is the Dormitory and the Foreign prof's Apt. The total length of the trail is 2.6km. The daily amount of use is 1,269 visitors per day. The amount of using increased three times the amount of that in 1998. This study shows the pattern of damage of the trail in the order of root-exposure, widening, rock-exposure, deepening and the divergence in the frequency of occurrence of all these factors. Environmental damage is also graded thus: grade 3 is 27.4m, grade 4 is 0.8m, grade 5 is 1.5m, and grade 6 is 0.2m. Accordingly, some managerial strategies were proposed in connection with the sustainable trail maintenance.

        백혈병환자에서 Liposomal Amphotericin B로 치료된 파종성 Fusarium 감염 1예

        Fusarium spp.는 사람에서 드물게 각막염, 조갑진균증, 상처나 화상부위감염 등을 유발하는 것으로 알려져 있으나 최근에는 면역저하자에서 기회감염의 원인균으로 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 면역저하자에서 파종성 감염이 있는 경우에 예후는 치명적이나, 증례가 많지 않고 진단방법이 제한되어 있어 조기 진단과 신속한 치료가 쉽지 않다. 그러나 특징적으로 피부병변의 동반이 흔하여 면역저하자에서는 피부 병변의 면밀한 관찰과 함께 Fusarium 감염을 조기에 의심하여 피부생검이나 배양을 하는 것이 진단에 도움이 되리라 생각된다. 파종성 Fusarium 감염의 치료로는 감염 부위의 국소적 외과적 절제와 전신적 항진균제의 사용이 필요하고 현재까지는 amphotericin B가 비교적 효율적인 항진균제로 알려져 있으나 면역저하자에서 이에 반응을 하지 않는 경우가 많다. 저자들은 급성골수성백혈병 환자에서 관해유도화학요법 시행 후 호중구감소상태에서 피부병변과 폐침윤이 발견되었고 피부의 중심부 궤양을 동반한 구진성 병변에서 배양검사를 통해 파종성 Fusarium 감염을 진단하였으며 liposomal amphotericin B (AmBisome )를 사용하여 성공적으로 치료한 예를 경험하여 보고하는 바이다. Fusarium spp., basically a superficial pathogen, is a newly emerging fungal pathogen of opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients. At present, although Fusarium spp. are relatively resistant to amphotericin B, the combination of amphotericin B and surgical debridement appear to be optimal treatment for disseminated infection. Recently we experienced a 32-year-old neutropenic patient after induction chemotherapy for acute myelocytic leukemia presented with skin lesions and infiltrations in both lungs. We diagnosed with disseminated fusariosis by skin culture and successfully treated the patient with liposomal amphotericin B. We emphasize a high index of suspicion for skin lesions especially in immunocopromised patients.

        8.3% Carbamide Peroxide 함유 펜 형 자가미백제인 BIancTis Forte의 색조개선 및 안전성에 관한 임상연구

        This clinical study evaluated the whitening effect and safety of polymer based-pen type BlancTis Forte(NIBEC) containing 8.3% carbamide peroxide. Twenty volunteers used the BlancTis Forte whitening agent for 2 hours twice a day for 4 weeks As a control. Whitening Effect Pen (LG) containing 3% hydrogen peroxide was used by 20 volunteers using the same protocol. The change in shade (ΔE^(*) color difference) was measured using Shadepilot™ (DeguDent) before, during and after bleaching (2 weeks, 4 weeks and postbleaching 4 weeks). A clinical examination for any side effects (tooth hypersensitivity or soft tissue complications) was also performed at each check-up. The following results were obtained. 1 Both the experimental and control groups displayed a noticeable change in shade (ΔE) of over 2 No significant differences were found between the two group (p>0.05) implying that the two agents have a similar whitening effect. 2 The whitening effect was mainly due to changes in a and b values rather than in L value (brightness). The experimental group showed a significantly higher change in b value thus yellow shade than the control(p < 0.05) 3 None of the participants complained of tooth hypersensitivity or soft tissue complications confirming the safety of both whitening agents 8.3%의 carbamide peroxide를 함유한 펜형 코팅용 미백제인 BlancTis Forte (NIBEC, Seosul & JinCheon)를 실험군으로, 3% hydrogen peroxide를 함유한글 Whitening Effect Pen (LG. Seoul) 제재를 대조군으로 각각 피험자 20명에게 2시간씩 1일 2회 제조사의 지시대로 치아표면에 4주간 적용하도록 지시하고 색조개선 효능과 안전성을 평가하였다. 미백 효과는 미백 전 및 미백 2주, 4주 및 미백 종료 4주 후에 Shadopilot™을 이용하여 색 변화를 측정하였고, 매 내원시기마다 모든 환자는 치수생활력 검사와 치주 및 치태 검사를 통해 부작용 여부 (치아과민증 및 구감 내 연조직의 부작용)를 기록한 후 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1.실험군 및 대조군의 색 변화량 (ΔE)은 2이상으로 인지할 수 있는 색 변화를 보였으며, 두 제품 간에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않아 (p > 0.05) 유사한 미백효능을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 2,미백효과는 명도의 개선보다는 주로 a. b값의 변화에 의한 것으로 특히 실험군에서 b값의 변화, 즉 황색조의 개선효과가 대조군에 비해 유의성 있게 높은 것으로 나타났다 (p <0.05). 3.치아나 치은의 과민증이나 이상증상을 호소하는 피험자는 없어 두 제품 모두 안전성을 확인할 수 있었다.

      • 한열변증에 따른 중풍 환자의 제반특성 비교

        Object : This study was conducted as part of the national project to standardize stroke diagnosis in Korean medicine. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the characteristics of acute stroke between heat pattern group and cold pattern group. Methods : We recruited stroke patients from 5 universities(Kyung-Hee University oriental medical center, Kyung-Hee University East-West Neo medical center, Kyungwon university lncheon oriental medical center, Kyungwon university Songpa oriental medical center and DongGuk university llsan oriental medical center) from April, 2007 until February, 2010. We diagnosed them and selected 463 heat pattern patients and 182 cold pattern patients. Results : We find that the risk factor of smoking, alcohol, diet(prefer to meat) are more associated with the heat pattern group. On the other hand, inflammation history in recent 3 months and diet(prefer to sea food) are more associated with the cold pattern group. RBC, Hg, Hct, TG, CK and Cl are more related to the heat pattern group. CPT, total cholesterol and HDL are more related to the cold pattern group. Tae-eum type takes high distribution of the heat pattern group, and So-eum type takes high distribution of the cold pattern group. Conclusions : This study provides evidence that the heat pattern group have more risk factor than the cold pattern group.

      • Forecasting Mail Traffic by Applying Machine Learning and STL

        The postal service sector uses machine learning to forecast delivery time and customer traffic. Studies on postal logistics forecasting have used various machine learning algorithms, but there were no attempts using Seasonal and Trend Decomposition using Loess (STL) decomposition, which is frequently used in other fields of time series forecasting. Therefore, this paper proposes a method of applying optimal STL decomposition cycles using the machine learning models of prior studies and the latest machine learning models. First, the proposed method decomposes the daily traffic using STL decomposition to generate three variables (Trend, Seasonal, and Residual). These variables are added to the existing input data variable to train the machine learning model. Finally, a suitable STL decomposition cycle for the model is selected to derive an optimal model. The proposed method was validated by creating nine machine learning (AdaBoost Regression, Random Forest Regression, Ridge, etc.) and two deep learning (DNN, LSTM) models and testing them. As a result, the application of STL decomposition reduced the forecast errors in all models except LSTM. In terms of the proposed method, linear regression had the lowest forecast error, and LSTM had the highest.

      • Association between Oxygen Saturation Level During Bronchoscopy and Post-bronchoscopy Clinical Outcomes

        Background Flexible bronchoscopy has been favored for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, but significant desaturation frequently occurs during bronchoscopy. Current guidelines do not provide a consensus about the optimal saturation target during bronchoscopy. Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study with propensity score matching in a single center including 569 patients who received bronchoscopy from March 1st,2020 to February 28th,2021. Patients were classified into high- or low-oxygen saturation groups according to the saturation of percutaneous oxygen (SpO2) during bronchoscopy. The primary outcome was post-bronchoscopy respiratory adverse events. Secondary outcomes were other post-bronchoscopy adverse events and clinical outcomes. Results We classified 458 patients into the high-oxygen saturation (SpO2 > 96%) group, and 111 into the low-oxygen saturation (SpO2 ≤ 94%) group (Fig. 1). Demographic and clinical features were similar between the two groups. Low-oxygen saturation group had significantly higher respiratory adverse events (p-value=0.001) and febrile events (p-value<0.001) (Table 1). However, there was no significant difference in hospital length of stay, intensive care unit admission, or 7-day-all-case mortality between the two groups. In multivariable regression analysis, low-oxygen saturation group was an independent risk factor for post-bronchoscopy respiratory adverse events (odds ratio=3.12 [95% confidence interval=1.19-8.16], p-value=0.020). Especially, the risk for post-bronchoscopy respiratory adverse events in the low-oxygen saturation group was significantly identified in subgroup patients who were ≥65 years old, female, current smokers, diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and presenting acute decompensated heart failure before bronchoscopy (Fig. 2). Conclusions The patients showing SpO2 ≤ 94% during bronchoscopy should be closely monitored after bronchoscopy regarding the increased risk of developing adverse events.

        Co-pyrolysis of Coffee Ground and Waste Polystyrene foam in a Tilted-slide Reactor

        Co-pyrolysis of coffee ground and waste polystyrene foam was performed to produce pyrolysis oil in a tilted-slide reactor. The pretreated waste polystyrene foam was mixed in the ratios of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% with the dried coffee ground by weight. The yield and characteristics of the pyrolysis oil were compared at various mixing ratios. The pyrolysis oil yield increased almost linearly with the mixing ratio of the waste polystyrene foam, and it was 96.95wt% in the case of 100% waste polystyrene foam. The higher heating value of the pyrolysis oil also increased up to 41.44 MJ/kg. Mixing at least 25% of waste polystyrene foam to the coffee ground could significantly reduce the pyrolysis oil viscosity. It can be an efficient method to improve the quality of the pyrolysis oil by enhancing the heating value, and by reducing the viscosity.

        Tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor (TRAF) is known to regulate antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) production in mammals. Here, to understand the immunological function of TmTRAF against microbial challenge, the induction patterns of TmTRAF against microbial infection was investigated by qRT-PCR in the whole-body and tissue of young larvae. In addition, the effects of TmTRAF RNAi on larval mortality and expression of 15 AMP genes in response to microbial infection were investigated. Our studies may help to understand the basic role of AMP production.

      • A Novel Torque Controller Design for High Speed SRM using Negative Torque Compensator

        The high speed drives are much interested in the industrial applications due to the compact size and high efficiency. This paper presents a torque control scheme using modified TSF(Torque Sharing Function) for the high speed SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor). Because of a short commutating duration in a high speed region, the negative torque from the tail current makes the high torque ripple. In order to reduce the torque ripple, the proposed modified TSF compensates the negative torque from the tail current in the active phase winding. The torque references of the each phase have additional compensating term to reduce the torque ripple, and the compensating value is dependent on the tail current of the inactive phase winding. So the torque ripple of the high speed SRM can be reduced with the non-flat torque reference of the modified TSF control scheme. The proposed control method is verified by simulation and experimental results compared with a conventional control scheme.
