        Impacts of Soil Texture on Microbial Community of Orchard Soils in Gyeongnam Province

        Soil management for orchard depends on the effects of soil microbial activities. The present study evaluated the soil microbial community of 25 orchard (5 sites for sandy loam, 7 sites for silt loam, and 13 sites for loam) in Gyeongnam Province by fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) method. The average values for 25 orchard soil samples were 270 nmol g-1 of total FAMEs, 72 nmol g-1 of total bacteria, 34 nmol g-1 of Gram-negative bacteria, 34 nmol g-1 of Gram-positive bacteria, 6 nmol g-1 of actinomycetes, 49 nmol g-1 of fungi, and 7 nmol g-1 of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. In addition, silt loam soils had significantly low ratio of cy17:0 to 16:1ω7c and cy19:0 to 18:1ω7c compared with those of loam soils (p < 0.05), indicating that microbial activity increased. The average soil microbial communities in the orchard soils were 26.7% of bacteria, 17.9% of fungi, 12.6% of Gram-negative bacteria, 12.5% of Gram-positive bacteria, 2.5% of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, and 2.2% of actinomycetes. The soil microbial community of Gram-negative bacteria in silt loam soils was significantly higher than those of sandy loam and loam soils (p < 0.05).

        Long-term Assessment of Soil Chemical Properties in Different Soil Texture Orchard Fields in Gyeongnam Province

        The monitoring of soil fertility changes in orchard is very important for agricultural sustainability. Field monitoring was performed to evaluate the soil chemical properties of 140 orchard (23 sites for sandy loam, 88 sites for loam, 28 sites for silt loam, and 1 site for loamy fine sand) in Gyeongnam province every 4 years from 2002 to 2014. Soil chemical properties such as pH, electrical conductivity, amount of organic matter (OM), available phosphate (P2O5), lime requirement (LR), exchangeable potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and sodium were analyzed. The amount of OM, exchangeable K, Ca, and Mg were significantly increased as cultivation year increases. The frequency distribution within optimum range of subsoil chemical properties in 2014 was 34.3% for pH, 35.0% for OM, 17.1% for available P2O5, 22.9% for exchangeable K, 15.7% for exchangeable Ca, and 22.1% for exchangeable Mg. In addition, the available P2O5 and exchangeable calcium were excess level with portions of 69.3% and 48.6%, respectively. The soil chemical properties in the topsoil and subsoil showed that soil pH was significantly higher in sandy loam soil than those from the loam and silt loam soils. The OM, exchangeable K, Mg, and LR of loam soil were higher than those from the sandy loam soil. These results indicated that a balanced management of soil chemical properties as affected by soil texture can improve the amount of fertilizer applied for sustainable agriculture in orchard field.

        2차원 멀티패치 모델의 아이소-지오메트릭 해석

        본 논문에서는 2개 이상의 기하형상이 순응 또는 비순응 경계면에서 접합된 멀티패치 문제에 대한 아이소-지오메트릭 해석에 대해서 연구하였다. 패치 경계면에서 응력의 연속성을 표현하는 방법으로 Nitsche 방법론과 마스터-슬레이브 방법에 기반한 방법론에 대해서 지배방정식을 유도하고 아이소-지오메트릭 이산화를 수행하였다. 멀티패치 문제에 대해서 두 방법론의 차이점을 간단하게 비교하였으며, 후처리 과정에서 사용되는 NURBS 곡면 기반의 응력 복원법에 대해서 기술하였다. 수치예제에서 비순응 경계면을 가지는 멀티패치 빔 문제를 통해 Nitshce 방법론을 검증하였으며, 응력집중을 가지는 문제에서 소개된 두 방법론이 유사한 결과를 보이는 것을 확인하였다. 소개된 NURBS 곡면 기반의 응력 복원법을 후처리에서 도입할 경우 멀티패치 문제의 경계면에서 개선된 연속적인 응력을 보임을 알 수 있다. In this paper, an isogeometric analysis for multipatch problem is investigated, in which two or more geometries are connected at the interface in a conforming or non-conforming conditions. To express higher continuity at the patch interface, two approaches such as Nitsche based method and master-slave method are formulated for the linear elasticity problem and discretized using the isogeometric approach using NURBS basis functions. A short comparison between two approaches in formulations reveals the pros and cons of them with the applicability in the isogeometric multipatch problem. In addition, a NURBS based stress recovery is adopted to express a better stress continuity through the post-processing. Numerical examples indicate the effectiveness of Nitsche method in the non-conforming patch, following the exact solution well. For the stress concentration problem with the conforming patch, introduced two methodologies show comparative results, meanwhile the NURBS based stress recovery presents an improved smooth stress contour in the whole domain including the patch interface.

        Analysis of Soil Microbial Communities Formed by Different Upland Fields in Gyeongnam Province

        The present study investigated variations in soil microbial communities by fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) andthe chemical properties at 24 sites of upland soils in Gyeongnam Province. The electrical conductivity of thesoil under potato cultivation was significantly higher than those of the red pepper and soybean soils (p < 0.05). The gram-negative bacteria community in potato soil was significantly lower than those in the garlic andsoybean soils (p < 0.05). The communities of actinomycetes and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the redpepper soil were significantly higher than those in the potato soil (p < 0.05). In addition, the cy17:0 to 16:1ω7cratio was significantly lower in red pepper, soybean, and garlic soils compared with potato soil, indicating thatmicrobial stress decreased. Consequently, differences in soil microbial community were highly associatedwith cultivated crop species, and this might be resulted from the difference in soil chemical properties.

      • 큰느타리버섯 폐배지를 이용한 버섯배지 제조에 관한 연구

        큰느타리버섯의 재배면적 및 생산량이 증가됨에 따라 폐배지 발생량도 매년 증가되고 있지만 이들 대부분은 퇴비화 과정을 거쳐 농업용 퇴비로 이용 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 큰느타리버섯 재배 후 발생되는 폐배지의 재활용을 통해 버섯 생산용 배지 조성의 가능성에 대해 조사하였다. 버섯 재배를 위해 처음 사용되는 배지(새배지) 와 버섯 수확 이후 발생되는 배지(폐배지)에 대한 특성 조사 결과 pH 및 C/N율의 경우 새배지에 비해 폐배지에서 낮아지는 경향을 보였으나 일반 무기성분에 대한 뚜렷한 변화는 확인 되지 않았다. 한편, 적정 수준이상으로 폐배지가 혼합될 경우 버섯의 균사배양기간 및 생육기간이 길어지는 경향을 나타내었으며 새배지에 대한 폐배지의 적정 혼합 비율은 10~30% 수준이었다.

        The Relationship between Microbial Characteristics and Glomalin Concentrations of Controlled Horticultural Soils in Gyeongnam Province

        Glomalin has been suggested as an enhancer for soil stability by promoting the aggregation. In this study, weexamined the concentrations of glomalin and microbial characteristics in 25 controlled horticultural soilssampled from Gyeongnam Province. Total glomalin had a significant positive correlation with soil organicmatter (p < 0.01), soil microbial biomass carbon (p < 0.05), and dehydrogenase activity (p < 0.05) in controlledhorticultural soils. In addition, the total glomalin had a significant positive correlation with concentrations oftotal fatty acid methyl esters, Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and arbuscular mycorrhizalfungi in controlled horticultural soils (p < 0.001). In conclusion, the concentration of total glomalin could bean indicator of microbial biomass richness for sustainable agriculture in controlled horticultural soils.

        큰느타리버섯 폐배지 이용 배지 제조 및 적정 첨가비율

        After bottle culture of Pleurotus eryngii, media were taken out the bottle and normally utilized compost. However, nutritional elements were remained in the waste media. This study was carried out to investigate the reusable possibility and the optimal additive rate of waste media in an artificial cultivation of Pleurotus eryngii. The pH had tendency to decrease as the waste media was added from 6.0 to 4.8. Based on the additive rate of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%, each treatment waste media was added to new media for culturing Pleurotus eryngii. Among various treatments, the mycelial growth and primordia formation of Pleurotus eryngii were more favorable in the addition of 10-30% waste median than in the addition of 40 and 50%. The yield of its fruiting body was increased slightly in the treatment of 10-30% waste media.

        Poorly Differentiated Adenocarcinoma in the Injured Mandible Metastasized from Lung Cancer

        A 78 year-old male complained of mild pain at a gingival mass on his anterior mandible, injured and ulcerated by autobicycle accident six months ago. He had suffered from uncontrolled diabetes. The tumor specimens from his chin and gingiva were examined by immunohistochemical method, and their microsections showed poorly differentiated polygonal tumor cells, occasionally formed ductal structures. The tumor cells grew infiltratively into adjacent fibromuscular tissue with frequent atypical mitosis, exhibiting the features of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. However, in the computed tomography(CT) view a tumor mass was also found in his lung, and diagnosed lung cancer. In the immunohistochemical observation the tumor cells were strongly positive for thyroid transcription factor 1(TTF-1), cytokeratin 7, PCNA, p53, and PIM-1, occasionally positive for p63, but sparsely positive for survivin. The tumor cells were almost negative for S-100, cytokeratin 14, and α-SMA, while the vascular structures in the tumor tissue were conspicuously demarcated by the stains of α-SMA. Taken together, the present case was finally diagnosed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma,metastasized from lung adenocarcinoma. And it was presumed that the metastatic tumor cells tended to be anchored in the traumatized area of anterior mandible, where the wound healing was undergoing with de novo angiogenesis and the activation of different cytokines and growth factors.
