An analytical study has been carried out to investigate the effects of the check valve installation on the volumetric and adiabatic efficiencies in a scroll compressor. Both the valve displacement limit and the valve stiffness affected the valve motion, the pressure upstream of the valve, and the pattern of the mass flow through the valve to the discharge plenum. Nonetheless, the presence of the check valve did not cause any noticeable change in the volumetric efficiency. Only a slight increase in the compression work was needed to overcome the pressure increase in front of the valve. The pressure build-up upstream of the valve can be alleviated with the larger limit of the valve lift and a smaller valve stiffness.

The petrographic and geochemical characteristics of granitoids in the Eopyeong area were investigated in relation to the associated Fe-Cu-(Au) mineralization. The study on the petrogenesis was also carried out. Granitoids in the Eopyeong area are classified as quartz monzodiorite and granodiorite. Geochemical characteristics favor granitoids to be classified as calc-alkaline series, I-type and magnetite series granitoids, and show granitoids to be moderately differentiated. Cu, Cr and Ni show anomalous primary distributions in relation to Fe-Cu-(Au) mineralization.

The petrographic and geochemical characteristics of granitoids in the Changwon area were investigated in relation to the associated Pb-Zn-(Cu) mineralization. The study on the petrogenesis was also carried out. Granitoids in the Changwon area are classified as alkali-feldspar granite, granite(monzogranite and syenogranite) and granodiorite. Geochemical characteristics favor granitoids to be classified as calc-alkaline series, I-type and magnetite series granite, and show that granitoids are considerably differentiated. Zn and Cu show anomalous primary distributions in relation to Pb-Zn-(Cu) mineralization. High content of Zn with the concomitant greater variance and strong positive skewness of the frequency distribution is particularly positive feature. Ternary plot of Cu, Pb and Zn could be useful tool for the identification of granitoids related to Pb-Zn-(Cu) mineralization.

The petrographic and geochemical characteristics of the Muamsa granitic rocks were investigated in relation to the associated W-Mo-F mineralization. The study on the petrogenesis was also carried out. The Muamsa granitic rocks are classified as syenogranite and monzogranite. Geochemical characteristics favor the Muamsa granitic rocks to be classified as calc-alkaline series, I-type and magnetite series granitoids, and show the Muamsa granitic rocks to be strongly differentiated. W, F and Mo show anomalous primary distributions in relation to W-Mo-F mineralization. High contents of W and F with the concomitant greater variance and strong positive skewness of the frequency distribution are particularly positive features.
