Thermal batteries are primary power sources for military applications requiring high reliability, robustness and long storage life. Conventional electrodes for thermal batteries are prepared by compacting powder mixtures into pellets. Separator is composed of halide mixture, such as LiCl-KCl eutectic salt, blended with MgO to immobilize the molten salt. In order to increase the power density and energy density, the resistance of electrolyte should be reduced because the resistance of electrolyte is predominant in thermal batteries. In this study, wetting behaviors and impregnation weight of molten salts as well as the micro structures of ceramic felt were investigated to be applicable to thin electrolyte. Discharge performances of single cell with the ceramic separator impregnated by molten salt were evaluated also. Zirconia felt with high porosity and large pore outperformed alumina felt in wetting characteristics and molten salt impregnation as well as discharge performances. Based on the results of this study, ceramic felt separator impregnated with molten salt have revealed as an alternative of conventional thick MgO based separator with no conspicuous sign of thermal runaway by short circuit.

Thermal batteries are heat-activated primary reserve power sources that use inorganic salt as electrolytes and specially designed to meet extremely long or environmentally severe storage requirements. They are primarily used to deliver high power for relatively short periods in such applications as fuzes, missiles, ordnance and other military applications. In this paper, we describe a general overview and research trends on electrode materials for thermal batteries.
편마비환자의 재활프로그램적용이 밸런스 및 보행시간에 미치는 영향

After the side paralysis patient who is caused by stroke had executed the rehabilitation program of 4 weeks, we had following results about balance and walking hour. After executing the rehabilitation exercise program of 4 weeks, the body balance of the side paralysis patients significantly increased compared with before the program. After executing the rehabilitation exercise program of 4 weeks, the walking hour of side paralysis patients significantly increased compared with before the program. Mixing bearing the body weight in the water with massage gave patients comfortable exercise effects instead of treadmill traing program of bearing the body weight, so we think that unterwater program has good effects on walking and balance and it will be used in walking train program .we think that it will be studied for improving citizen's health and important for patients' functional and independant rehabilitation through underwater rehabilitation program and massage.

8주 동안의 목표심박수를 이용한 자전거 운동으로 심폐기능의 향상을 확인 하였다. 안정 시 수축기 혈압은 2.98% 감소하였으며, THBI는 7.59% 감소함을 확인하였다. VO₂ max는 24.60%, PTT는 4.92% 증가하였다. VO₂ max의 증가는 심장근의 발달로 1회 박출량의 증가를 나타내며, 1회 박출량의 증가는 심박수의 감소를 유도한다. 또한 많은 양의 혈액이 혈관에 공급되었으나 혈압이 감소하였다. 그 이유가 혈관의 탄성 증가에 의한 현상임을 PTT를 통하여 확인 하였다. 따라서 목표심박수를 이용한 운동은 건강관리에 큰 도움이 될 것이다. In this study we confirmed for the cardiopulmonary ability improvement of the cycling exercise which uses a target heart beat. Consequently, we looked the resting systolic blood pressure down at 2.98% and THBI(Total Heart Beat Index) also decrements at 7.59%. But, increase of VO₂ max and PTT(Pulse Transit Time)were each point 24.60% and 4.92%. Increase of VO₂ max showed the growth of stroke volume by myocardial development. The increase of a stroke volume induces the decrease of Heart rate. The blood pressure was reduced also though the blood of many quantity was supplied at the artery. The reason is the phenomenon to be due to by an elasticity increase of the artery. We found out it through the decrease of PTT. So the cycling exercise to use consequently the target heart beat will become big aid at the health care.
저강도 음파 조사가 중간엽 줄기세포 증식에 미치는 영향

It is known that the low-intensity sound stimulation really affect to grow the cell. The cellular growth mechanism, however, does not been clearly identified even the effect on the low-intensity sound stimulation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of low-intensity sound stimulation on the alveolar UC-MSC proliferation. Before the low-intensity sound stimulation is applied, the UC-MSC are cultured for 24 hours to facilitate their attachments. The cells are divided into two groups. And each was exposed to a medium with or without the low-intensity ultrasound stimulation at 71㏈ intensity level. The UC-MSC are again divided into three treatment groups of group 1, 2, and 3 and exposed to a frequency at 50㎐, 100㎐, and 1000㎐, respectively. In the results, it is investigated that the growth rates of UC-MSC for the stimulated groups were higher than those of control groups. In 1000㎐ frequency, the number of UC-MSC cell is significantly higher than control groups (p>0.05). We would put the hypothesis that the cell growth could be enhanced by an appropriate low-intensity sound stimulation
통증유발점 압통이완요법 및 PIR요법이 경부 MPS환자의 통증정도, 장애지수 및 경추 ROM에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of ischemic compression and PIR program on pain scale, disability index and cervical ROM in patients of cervical myofascial pain syndrome. Subjects were divided in to 3 groups (control group, ischemic compression group, PIR group) from 30 patients of cervical myofascial pain syndrome. The experimental groups were treated with ischemic compression or PIR program for 8weeks and the effects on pain scale, disability index and cervical ROM have been evaluated. The ischemic compression group and PIR group were significantly decreased pain scale, disability index and significantly increased cervical ROM as compared with the control group. Especially, the PIR group was significantly increased cervical ROM as compared with the control group and ischemic compression group. To conclude, Applying of ischemic compression and PIR program for patients of cervical myofascial pain syndrome will be effectively appeared to improvement of cervical ROM and decreasing of pain and disability index.

지구온난화로 인한 나비 생활주기 변화를 파악하기 위해 광릉 숲에서 1958년과 2004년에 주별로 조사한 나비모니터링 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 1958년에 비해 2004년에 나비류의 최초 출현시기와 평균 출현시기가 빨라졌는지, 출현기간이 길어졌는지를 검토하였다. 최초발생시기와 발생기간에서는 차이가 나타나지 않았고, 평균 출현시기에서는 느려진 종들이 오히려 많았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지구온난화로 예상되는 나비류 생활주기의 변화를 확인할 수 없었다. 기온 증가에도 불구하고, 예견되는 생활주기 변화가 나타나지 않은 원인을 검토하였다. 아울러 국내의 나비를 지구온난화 지표로 적절하게 활용하기 위해, 현재 나비상 연구에 있어서 문제점과 해결책을 검토하였다. In order to find phenological change of butterflies due to global warming, we analyzed weekly monitoring data of butterfly at Gwangneung forest in 1958 and 2004. It was tested whether the timing of first flight and mean flight of butterflies in 2004 became earlier due to global warming compared with those in 1958 and whether the duration of flight period became longer. No significant difference was found in timing of first flight and in duration of flight period between 1958 and 2004. Furthermore, species showing delayed timing of mean flight was more abundant than species showing earlier timing of mean flight. Hence, the results do not confirm the predicted changes of phonology due to global warming. We discussed reasons on the non-apparent phenological changes despite the increase of temperature, and the problems and solutions in butterfly study on Korean butterfly fauna in utilization of butterflies as indicator for global warming.
