Managing apartments is critical not only to handling the physical deterioration over time, but also to the quality of community life, social environment and ultimately residents' satisfaction with the housing environment. Therefore, this study aims at understanding residents' awareness of apartment management, and finding the relationship between management activities and residents' satisfaction and participation by comparing an apartment with active management and an apartment without it. This study examines 1) management activities of two subject apartment complexes, and 2) how management activities affect residents' participation and satisfaction. Surveys were conducted of the residents, and SPSS statistics package was utilized to analyze the survey data. This study found that management activities of apartment complex have positive influence on residents' participation and satisfaction with their housing environment. The results of this study can be utilized as basic materials to develop effective guidelines and manual from the perspective of environmental management of apartment houses, in order to improve the participation of the residents in the apartment management.
Annexin I Stimulates Insulin Secretion through Regulation of Cytoskeleton and PKC Activity

In previous studies, we found that Annexin I (Anx I) was co-secreted with insulin in response to glucose, and that extracellular Anx I stimulated the release of insulin via the Anx I binding site in rat pancreatic islets and the β-cell line. However, the role that Anx I plays in the insulin secretion was not established. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the insulin secretion pattern in response to Anx I and the involvement of the cytoskeleton or PKC in Anx Istimulated insulin secretion in MIN6N8a cells. The peak time of insulin secretion in response to Anx I treatment corresponded with the second phase insulin secretion by glucose in the perifused pseudoislets. In addition, Anx I-stimulated insulin secretion was not affect by readily releasable pool depletion. Taken together, these findings indicate that Anx I treatment was associated with movement of the reserve pool of insulin. Furthermore, Anx I-stimulated insulin secretion was attenuated by treatment with a microfilament inhibitor, cytochalasin B, as well as by PKC down regulation. These results indicate that Anx I may be a regulator of second phase insulin secretion.
Anti-fatigue activity of a mixture of seahorse (Hippocampus abdominalis) hydrolysate and red ginseng

Seahorse, a syngnathidae fish, is one of the important organisms used in Chinese traditional medicine. Hippocampus abdominalis, a seahorse species successfully cultured in Korea, was validated for use in food by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in February 2016; however. the validation was restricted to 50% of the entire composition. Therefore, to use H. abdominalis as a food ingredient, H. abdominalis has to be prepared as a mixture by adding other materials. In this study, the effect of H. abdominalis on muscles was investigated to scientifically verify its potential bioactivity. In addition, the anti-fatigue activity of a mixture comprising H. abdominalis and red ginseng (RG) was evaluated to commercially utilize H. abdominalis in food industry. H. abdominalis was hydrolyzed using Alcalase, a protease, and the effect of H. abdominalis hydrolysate (HH) on the muscles was assessed in C2C12 myoblasts by measuring cell proliferation and glycogen content. In addition, the mixtures comprising HH and RG were prepared at different percentages of RG to HH (20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80% RG), and the anti-fatigue activity of these mixtures against oxidative stress was assessed in C2C12 myoblasts. In C2C12 myoblasts, H2O2-induced oxidative stress caused a decrease in viability and physical fatigue-related biomarkers such as glycogen and ATP contents. However, treatment with RG and HH mixtures increased cell viability and the content of fatigue-related biomarkers. In particular, the 80% RG mixture showed an optimum effect on cell viability and ATP synthesis activity. In this study, all results indicated that HH had anti-fatigue activity at concentrations approved for use in food by the law in Korea. Especially, an 80% RG to HH mixture can be used in food for ameliorating fatigue.

In this study, an antioxidative peptide was obtained by hydrolyzation of mideodeok (Styela clava)flesh tissue with various proteases and purified through gel filtration chromatography and reverse phage-HPLC (RPHPLC),and then antioxidant activity was investigated using electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrometer. Among the enzymatic hydrolysates, the peptic hydrolysate exhibited the highest antioxidant activity, and a strong antioxidant peptide was purified from the hydrolysate. The peptide sequence, Leu-Trp-His-Thr-His (692.2 Da), was identified by quardruple time-of-flight electrospray ionization (QTOF ESI)-MS. This antioxidative peptide strongly scavenged peroxyl radical with the IC50 value of 39.4 μM.
기후변화 시나리오(RCP)를 이용한 도시지역 빗물펌프장의 미래 필요용량 산정

최근 기상이변의 증가로 인해 돌발성 집중호우가 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. 기상청에서는 이런 기후변화에 대비하기 위하여 최근 온실가스 증가경향을 반영한 새로운 온실가스 시나리오를 제시하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 새로운 온실가스 시나리오인 RCP 시나리오를 이용하여 인천광역시의 미래기간에 대한 목표기간별 확률강우량의 변화를 추정하였다. 이를 토대로 미래에 증가되는 빗물펌프장 용량을 추정하여 현 시설물의 필요(수요)용량을 산정하였다. 최악의 시나리오인 RCP 8.5에 따르면, 대상지역인 인천광역시의 9개 빗물펌프장 중 3개소는 미래 강우의 증가에도 어려움이 없을 것으로 판단되나, 나머지 6개 펌프장의 시설용량은 미래 강우를 수용하기에 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 목표기간III(2071-2100) 강우를 수용하기 위해선 현재 시설용량을 6배정도 증설해야할 것으로 예상되었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 도출된 결과를 토대로 인천지역의 미래 도시배수시스템의 용량을 검토하여 대비할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다. In the recent years, flash flood and local heavy rainfall have been frequently occurred in Korea and this may be due to the climate change. Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) and IPCC AR5 reported new greenhouse gas scenario called RCPs(Representative concentration pathways). This study tries to analyze the variability and trend of future rainfall using the new RCP scenarios. Based on this, we estimate the needed capacity(demand) at existing pumping station for the future. The study area is Incheon-city, Korea which has 9 pumping stations. This study uses the RCP 8.5 which is the worst scenario of RCPs for the impact assessment of climate change and there will be no difficulty in the three of nine pumping stations for the future rainfall. But, the capacities of 6 pumping stations will not be sufficient for the future rainfall and runoff. It is expected to construct more pumping stations allowable 6 times of existing pump capacity especially for Target III(2071-2100). Therefore, we may need to prepare for the future flood damage potential by reviewing the capacity of future drainage system in Incheon city.
수집형 마늘 수확기 이용 난지형 마늘 수확 포장성능 시험

마늘은 기후에 따라 생육 특성의 차이가 뚜렷한 작물로 생육지역의 기후특성에 따라 한지형과 난지형으로 구분되며, 재배양식에 차이가 있어 농기계 개발에 어려움이 있다. 마늘 재배 기계화율은 ’18년 58.6%로 보고되고 있으나, 수확 작업은 36.7%로 기계화가 특히 미흡한 실정으로 트랙터 또는 경운기용 땅속작물 수확기(굴취기)를 이용하여 굴취 후 인력으로 뿌리에 붙은 흙을 털어내며 수집하고 있어 인력 의존도가 높은 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 마늘굴취와 뿌리흙 제거, 수집을 일관적으로 수행하는 수집형 마늘수확기를 개발하고 난 지형 마늘을 대상으로 포장성능 시험을 수행하였다. 마늘 수확 포장성능 시험은 경상남도 창녕군 소재 농가포장에서 난지형 대서마늘(Allium sativum L.)을 대상으로 선정하였다. 요인별 20 m 시험구간 조성하였으며, 수확 시험 전 마늘 줄기를 지면으로부터 약 3 cm 내외로 절단하였다. 60kW급 트랙터를 이용하여 작업속도 3수준(0.07, 0.09, 0.11 m/s), 이송속도 3수준(70, 85, 95 rpm)을 요인으로 수행하였다. 수집형 마늘수확기의 수확성능 분석을 위해 시험 구간내 미수집된 마늘을 조사하였으며, 수확기 수집부에 수확된 마늘의 손상률, 이물질 혼입률을 분석하였다. 손상률의 경우 찍힘 등의 외부손상과 멍에 의한 내부손상을 조사하였으며, 멍에 의한 내부손상은 마늘을 수확 후 저장기간 동안 멍에 의한 부패 발생을 20일 동안 조사하였다. 이물질 혼입률은 수집부에 수확된 마늘과 흙을 분리하여 무게를 조사, 비교하였다. 수집형 마늘수확기의 요인별 유의성을 검정하기 위하여 분산분석(ANOVA)을 수행하였으며, 5% 유의수준에서 Duncan의 다중비교를 수행하였다. 포장성능 시험 결과 작업속도 0.11 m/s, 이송속도 85 rpm에서 손실률 2.3%, 손상률 2.2%, 이물질 혼입률 1.5%로 가장 양호하였다. 분산분석 결과 신뢰수준 95%에서 손실률과 이물질 혼입률은 작업속도 및 이송속도 간 유의성이 나타나지 않았으나, 손상률은 작업속도 및 이송속도 간 유의성이 나타났다.
