The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of diabetic camp program on depression, self-efficacy and self-esteem of the juvenile diabetic patients who had participated diabetic camp program at Seoul and Kyung In area from August 5 to August 9, 1995. It was compared the change of depression, self efficacy and self-esteem right after participating the program, 6 and 12 month. Nursing staffs explained them how to respond to the questionnaire of depression, self-efficacy and self-esteem. The questionnaire of depression, self-efficacy and self-esteem was especially developed by both dibetes mellitus nurse specialist and pediatric nursing progessors for this study. Elementary school students are asked to response yes or no questionnarie. We asked the 5 lidert scale questionnaire for the both middle and high school students. Paired t-test was used to compare the difference right after the diabetic camp program, 6 and 12 month. Depression decreased right after participating the program, while self-esteem increased significantly following the program in elementary school students. And after the camp, there was o change in depression and self-esteem scores 6 and 12 month. There was no change in self-esteem and self-efficacy right after the camp, 6 and 12 month in middle and high school students. The result suggests that diabetic camp program could be the effective way to decrease depression and to increase self-efficacy and self-esteem, which has continued effect of diabetic camp program on depression, self-efficacy and self-esteem after 6 and 12 onth of the diabetic camp.

In the last stage of microcomputer development work, the logic analyzer becomes a most desirable instrument. But the sophistication of latest multifunction models of logic analyzer has made them too expensive to be found easilly in most technical laboratories. This studies has analyzed the basic organization of state logic analyzer, practical enough and low cost enough to be available in ordinary laboratories, with close studies on its functional operation.

There have been many trials of clinical efficacy of multicomponent and single component treatments for irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). We reviewed effects of non phamacological treatments in the IBS. Though the efficacy of multi-component approaches was unclear, several results suggest that cognitive behavioral therapy was effective in improving gastrointestinal symptoms of IBS. As a single component, cognitive therapy and relaxation with or without biofeedback could improve the symptoms and psychological health of IBS patients. Yoga, meditation, self-help information and hypnotherapy could be applicable to IBS.

Present status of school lunch service and satisfaction on it were surveyed by questionnaires with 636 elementary school students in Inchon city. School lunch service was considered positive in 68.3% of the objectives. Most of the students thought the amount of rice and side dishes appropriate. And the ratios of students feeling the food taste fair and good were 36.6% and 56%, respectively. When dislike-foods were served. 58.3% still ate forcedly and 30.4% ate partly. Reasons for not eating up foods were dislike foods(46.7%), too much amount (20.3%), and bad taste(17.5%). Colors and appearance of foods were thought to be fair and good(93.8%). Warm foods were thought to be served warm as they should be(51.5%) and a little colder than they should be(43.5%). 65.4 percent of the students responded to be served cold foods cold enough as they should be. Dining hall was preferred as an eating place(61.4%). Half of the students occasionally washed their hands and 35.0% always did. Those in charge of teaching the table manners were teachers(59.8%), dieticians(16.9%) and principals(4.5%). Sixty-three % of the students felt the dieticians kind. Good changes resulting from the school food service were student could have balanced diet(24.4%) and enjoy eating(18.1%). For better school lunch service it is necessary to provide menu for student's preferences, facilities for maintaining food temperatures, dining halls and opportunities to wash hands prior to eating.

To evaluate the physiologic extent of pulmonary contusion and effect of PEEP therapy for pulmonary contusion, we studied 16 patients received PEEP therapy with pulmonary contusion from nonpenetrating chest trauma. Hemodynamic parameters including pulmonary vascular resistance index and intrapulmonary shunt fraction were calculated from standard measurement, and arterial oxygen tension was measured. Pulmonary vascular resistance index and intrapulmonary shunt fraction were increased in patient group. Arterial oxygen tension was decreased with increase of the intrapulmonary shunt fraction(R=0.75). Arter minimal PEEP therap(5-10 ㎝H₂O), pulmonary vascular resistance index was remained unchanged and intrapulmonary shunt fraction was decreased without significant changes of pulmonary hemodynamics. Increment of arterial tension was increased with decrease of intrapulmonary shunt fraction(R=0.43). Decreased stroke volume index suggested of cardiac injury such as cardiac contusion in patient group. These results of our study suggested that increased intrapulmonary shunt fraction caused arterial hypoxia in pulmonary contusion and arterial oxygen tension was increased as a result of reduced intrapulmonary shunt by PEEP therapy.

In the method of obesity treatment, Dietary method, Exercise method, Behavior method, and Drug method, Dietary method is the most important control method of obesity. The aim of this study is that evaluate the weight reduction effect of the specific low calorie diet products (KSD I and 2) in obese women. Twenty five women who were volunteer participated in this study. They have no heart diseases and metabolic diseases. we classified two groups : obese group and standard group. Anthropometric indices were measured in all subject for four times. Venous blood sample were taken to determine the lipid profiles, glucose level, and liver function test. In obese group, body weight were reduced 2.85±1.46kg, but showed statistically non-signicicant. Body mass index were gradually reduced, 1.09±0.93kg/m^2(p<0.05).In blood analyses, total cholesterol were reduced 10.61 ±33.4mg/dℓ ( p<0.05). KSD 2 significantly inhibited maltase, sucrase and α-glucosidase from rat intestine, and porcine pancreatic lipase, although KSD I inhibited only the sucrase.
인천지역 초등학교 학부모의 학교 급식에 대한 인식 및 관심도 조사

Perceptions and concerns of parents about elementary school lunch service were investigated by questionnaires in March, 1998. Five hundred and ten parents were selected randomly from schools in the city area, the rural area or the islands in Incheon Metropolitan city. 95% of parents preferred the school lunch service because nutritious food was available to the children regardless of family income or mother's occupation. Meal cost per capita was in the range of 1,000 and 1,200 won, which satisfied most parents (74%). Moreover, many parents (68.8%) were willing to pay extra money to support the school lunch program and they actually had such experiences (82.4%). More than 90% of the respondents wanted to be adviced about the menu. Subjects chose nutrition and sanitation (25%), taste (18%), and meal size (16%) as aspects of improvement in school lunches. Parents wanted to participate in serving foods, cooking, and washing dishes once (23%) or twice (31%) a year and they considered this as a good opportunity to join the school activities. 98% of parents showed very positive responses to the nutritional education provided by the school dietitian.
