        Leaching Model System 에 의한 토양 정균현상의 분석

        This study was carried out to investigate the germination of four fungi under non-leaching and leaching incubation. The range of germination rates of Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerium, Mortierella, and Helminthosporium sativa incubated on sand saturated with various solutions without leaching were 90-99%, 31-45%, 38-62% and 86-98% respectively. The range of germination rates of Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerium, Mortierella n. sp and Helminthosporum sativa incubated on sand undergoing leaching were 51-63%, 13-25%, 15-37% and 47-80%, respectively. The germination rates of the four fungi tested were suppressed under leaching incubation.

        현대 중국어 신조어 규범화에 대한 고찰: 2013년~2015년 신조어를 중심으로

        It is important to analyze and differentiate between neologism and mainstream language. Neologism flourishes where languages evolve. Since the reform and opening-up, with the rapid cultural exchanges with other countries, Chinese Language has produced a large number of new words. This paper discussed the meaning of neologism and characteristics of mainstream language. Once invented, new words have to go through a tough process for getting accepted into mainstream language. New words must gain people’s interest and become frequently used. They that survived finally evolve into the common words. Those neologism words not widely used have perished over and with the advent of internet, many internet slang words are created. Internet acronyms, jargon and abbreviations are key characteristics of online language. Shortening of a word is much common among internet users. The internet full of neologism describes a disruption of grammatical structures and it is responsible for contributing to the ruining of the language. Grammatical errors must be avoided. In this regard, language, must be standardized and regulated under strict procedures.

        Bone Regeneration Using Collagenated Synthetic Bone Graft Attached to Collagen Membrane with 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine (DOPA)

        Purpose: The stability of graft material and membrane is crucial for successful guided bone regeneration. As 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine (DOPA) is known to contribute to the adhesiveness of natural mussel adhesive proteins, the aim of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility and bone regeneration using collagenated synthetic bone graft attached to the collagen membrane with DOPA in the rabbit calvaria model. Materials and Methods: Four circular bone defects of 8 mm diameter were created in the rabbit calvarium. Each defect in the calvarium was randomly allocated to 1) sham control group, 2) bone graft using a particle-type synthetic bone substitute (OP) group, 3) bone graft using collagenated synthetic bone block (OC) group, or 4) bone graft using the collagenated synthetic bone graft attached to collagen membrane with DOPA (OC-DOPA) group. A total of 10 rabbits were sacrificed at either 2 or 8 weeks post-surgery. Results: During histometric analysis, new bone formation in the OC-DOPA group was significantly greater than that in sham control at 8 weeks. On the contrary, there was no statistically significant difference in new bone area (NBA) between OC-DOPA and OC. Histologic analysis revealed infiltrations of inflammatory cells in the OP, OC, and OC-DOPA groups at 2 weeks. At 8 weeks, there were no remarkable inflammatory cells in the OP and OC groups. However, multinucleated giant cells (MNGC) were observed till 8 weeks in the OC-DOPA group.. Conclusion: The collagenated synthetic bone graft attached to the collagen membrane using DOPA showed its potential for guided bone regeneration. However, MNGC were observed until the late healing period.

      • Construction of bifunctional xylanase-cellulase fusion protein from Bacillus licheniformis NBL420 and its expression in E. coli

        The bifunctional Xylanase-Cellulase hybrid protein was constructed by gene fusion. Two genes corresponding to endoxylanase gene (xylS) and endocellulase gene (celA) were amplified by PCR from Bacillus licleniformis NBL420. It was then linked through splicing by overlap extension (SOE) by PCR method. The two resulting fused hybrids, xyl/cel and cel/xyl, which differ by its orientation, were confirmed by its nucleotide sequencings. One of two fusion genes, xyl/cel was successfully expressed into pET22b(+) vector (pxyl/cel) with bifunctional xylanase-cellulase activity. On the contrary, the other cel/xyl fusion protein showed only cellulase activity with much decreased xylanase activity. Enzymatic properties of Xyl/Cel fusion protein were investigated regarding optimum pH, optimum temp, thermostability, and pH stability. It was revealed that Xyl/Cel fusion protein retained the bifunctional xylanase-cellulase activities eventhough two enzymes were connected with each other directly. These informations could be useful for construction of other hybrid proteins as well as increased range of substrate utilization.

        Effect on Testosterone Production in Sprague-Dawley Rats of Gastrodia and Bee Pollen

        Objectives: We investigated the effects of Korean gastrodia and bee pollen on testosterone production in Sprague-Dawley rats. Methods: This study measured the body weight, consumption of food and water, and serum testosterone concentration in SD rats fed for four weeks with gastrodia and bee pollen. Results: The average body weights after four weeks were 375±2 g for the control group, 358±3 g for gastrodia consumption, and 354±2 g and 367±8 g for acorn pollen and Siberian gooseberry pollen, respectively. The average food consumption in SD rats over the four weeks in the control was 23.6 g for gastrodia consumption,24.3 g and 24.9 g for acorn pollen and Siberian gooseberry pollen, respectively. The average water consumption over the four weeks was 38.33 ml in the control group, 35.0 ml for gastrodia treatment, and 33.3 ml and 33.3 ml for acorn pollen and Siberian gooseberry pollen treatment, respectively. The testosterone secretion levels in the serum of male rats were increased by gastrodia, acorn pollen, and Siberian gooseberry pollen (2.68, 3.00, and 3.28 pg/ml, respectively) compared to the control group (2.23 pg/ml). Conclusions: These results suggest that gastrodia or bee pollen may be developed as a complementary medicine to improve sexual hormone production.

        위성통신용 600W급 SHF대역 진행파관 증폭기 캐소드 리플 특성 개선방안

        진행파관 증폭기는 입력되는 RF(radio-frequency)신호를 일정한 크기로 증폭하여 안테나로 출력하는 기능을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 위성통신용 고출력 SHF(Super High Frequency) 대역 진행파관 증폭기의 캐소드 리플 개선방안을 제안한다. 600W급 SHF대역 진행파관 증폭기의 구현 및 실험을 통하여 제안한 방안이 설계규격을 만족시키는 결과를 얻었다. 또한 RF부로 공급되는 보조전원의 잡음을 저감하여 예측치 못한 잡음성분들을 제거함으로서 RF 성능이 개선되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 방안은 매우 효과적이며, 차후 유사장비 개발 시 적용가능 할 것으로 판단된다. TWTA is to perform the function that amplifies the input RF signal and outputs it to the antenna. This paper proposes a method that is to improve the cathode ripple or the SHF TWTA for satellite communications. Through the embodiment and experiment of 600W SHF TWTA, this method satisfies the design specifications. Also, RF performance is improved by reducing the noise of auxiliary power sources supplied to the RF part and eliminating the unexpected noise. Therefore, this method is very effective and can be used to develop the similar equipments.
