Combination of Fractional Microneedling Radiofrequency and Ablative Fractional Laser versus Ablative Fractional Laser Alone for Acne and Acne Scars

Purpose: Fractional microneedle radiofrequency (FMR) systems are used to treat inflammatory acne and scarring. Nonetheless, few controlled studies have combined this treatment with the traditional ablative fractional laser (AFL). We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of the combination of FMR and AFL versus AFL alone in treating acne and acne scars. Materials and Methods: In this 20-week, randomized, split-face study, 23 Korean patients with facial acne and acne scars under went FMR and AFL treatments. One half of each patient’s face was randomly assigned to receive FMR+AFL, whereas the other half received AFL alone. Treatments were administered in three consecutive sessions at 4-week intervals. This study investigated the severity of inflammatory acne, acne scars, individual lesion counts, depressed scar volumes, as well as patient and physician satisfaction. In addition, five patients underwent skin biopsy, and sebum output was measured. Results: The FMR+AFL treatment demonstrated superior efficacy compared to AFL alone in terms of inflammatory acne and acne scar grading, lesion counts, and subjective satisfaction. The side effects were minimal and well-tolerated in both groups. Immuno histochemical findings from skin biopsy samples revealed that the application of FMR+AFL could induce an inhibitory effect on sebum secretion at the molecular level. Conclusion: FMR combined with AFL is a well-tolerated and effective treatment modality for inflammatory acne and acne scarring.

Background: Postoperative scars following cleft lip surgery are frequently accompanied by cosmetic and functional problems; therefore, patients with cleft lip scars usually undergo various long-term scar treatment courses. Currently, only a limited number of fractional laser treatment cases of cleft lip scars have been reported. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the combination laser treatment for hypertrophic scar management following cleft lip surgery. Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 27 patients who underwent cleft lip surgery before 12 months of age. The control group comprising 13 patients received only a silicone gel or sheet for the scars, while the treatment group comprising 14 patients underwent laser treatment with a 1,550 nm non-ablative fractional erbium-glass laser, followed by a 10,600 nm ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser. Intralesional triamcinolone injection (5∼10 mg/mL) was administered immediately after laser treatment. Scar improvement was assessed at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery using the Vancouver Scar Scale. Results: The mean total Vancouver scar scale showed a statistically significant improvement in the treatment group compared to that in the control group. In the sub-analysis of pigmentation, the vascularity, pliability, and height significantly improved in the treatment group. No differences in the patients’ baseline characteristics between the two groups were noted. No significant adverse effects were observed during the follow-up. Conclusion: Combination laser therapy using fractional lasers and intralesional triamcinolone injection is safe and effective for managing cleft lip surgery scars in infantile patients.

쇼쿄쿠사이덴카츠(松旭齊天勝)의 춤 전개 양상 연구 -1911년에서 1935년까지의 경성공연을 중심으로-

Tenkatsu troupe was a magic performance team that wanted to communicate with the audience by combining magic with other genres of performance. It appealed to the audience of the time when people were not familiar with the Western culture and goods. Tenkatsu troupe was sometimes seen as a circus troupe or a group of entertainers because of its program structure that accommodated diverse dances and reflected the trend of the time. However such structure played a big role in establishing itself as a public performance art group and a messenger of modern stage performance. Tenkatsu troupe enjoyed a huge popularity from its founding in 1911 to the retirement stage in 1935 not only in Japan but also in Korea(then Chosun),Twaiwan, Manchuria, and the US. With its focus on technique and magic, Tenkatsu troupe embraced genres such as dancing, play, and music while it pursued splendid stage that is both interesting and modern by reflecting the trend of the time. To achieve modern and splendid performance, Tenkatsu troupe organized Chosiren(죠시렌) and trained its performance to learn Western dance, Japanese dance, acting,singing, playing instruments as well as magic. Chosiren(죠시렌) has gradually evolved into a revue group that backed the smooth and splendid stages of Tenkatsu troupe and played a key role as an integral part of Tenkatsu. Tenkatsu troupe introduced most famous directors, choreographers, writers, staff, and actors(actresses) to prepare a perfect stage. Choreographers played the role of enhancing the quality of performance by training Tenkatsu and Chosiren(죠시렌). The performances of Tenkatsu troupe were splendid and lavish. And at the center of the performance,there was always dance. Style of dance has changed over time reflecting the time and society, affecting the stage of Tenkatsu troupe. In Seoul(then Kyongsung) between 1911 and 1935, various dances took places and they include modern dance, ballet, Jazz dance, and Japanese dance. By time, they include Woo Yui dance in 1913, Woo Yui dance Girls Dance, Butterfly Dance, Youth Dance in 1921, an applied magic play “Salome” in 1915, an applied magic dance play “Goddess of peace” in 1918, an applied magic dance play,“Dream Butterfly, Nerve Puppet, Girls Dance, Youth Dance” in 1921, and Jazz dance and three dances(gypsy dance, puppet dance, oriental dance) in 1926, Jazz dance, sketch revue, a Japanese court dance and music “La Mort Du Cygne” in 1929, and rumba, Jazz, Russian dance, trendy dance. Although Tenkatsu danced and experienced dancing throughout her life, it is hard to say that she has created a new world of dance to say strictly. However, she overwhelmed the audience with the inborn beauty and power of her dancing. As stated above, Tenkatsu introduced staff and actors(actress) from outside her group and it is reflective of her open-mindedness. Still her presence was so significant because the time she lived was one that has changed fast under the strong influence of Weatern culture. Tenkatsu attracted audience from Japan and nearby region as a leader even without creating her own dancing due to the aggressive openness and the human appeals.

An operation temperature of $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ based piezoelectric ultrasonic flowmeter was generally restricted to below 200$^{\circ}C$ due to a low depoling temperature of its ceramic material. Thus, a new designed piezoelectric ultrasonic flowmeter was fabricated in order to protect from the extremely hot fluid. Its structure is optimized by a finite element method to effectively stop heat flowing along a waveguide. Various materials such as Cu, Al, SUS were examined as a multi-plate radiation shield to enhance the performance of piezoelectric ultrasonic flowmeter. The SUS was evaluated as the most effective material to enhance the performance of piezoelectric ultrasonic flowmeter. As the number of plates of the radiation shield increased, the temperature at piezoelectric transducer away from the hot fluid was constantly decreased with a ratio of 3.12$^{\circ}C$ per the plate number.

일본어의 한국어 외래어 적용: 어말 종성을 중심으로

This paper aims to investigate how markednsss and unmakedness effect interact in Japanese adaptation of Korean loanword within the framework of Optimality theory. As widely known, Japanese codas are restricted to either a moraic nasal or a first part of a geminate, or a nasal which is homorganic to the following consonants. Thus, Japanese coda condition forces a vowel to be inserted after illegal coda consonants. On the other hand, Korean coda consonants are phonetically realized as unreleased stops (/p, t, k/) or sonorants (/m, n, l, ŋ/). Therefore, Korean nasal codas are adopted as different patterns since Japanese moraic structure disallow them. Thus, we shall focus on the special markedness aspect for the nasality and then move on to discuss the interaction of the constraints IDENT(labial)CODA is ranked higher than Coda-cond, ALIGN-R and IDENT(cor)CODA in the adaptation of Korean nasal codas by the Japanese speakers.

베트남 화자의 한국어 단모음에 대한 음성학적 연구: 학문 목적 수준의 여성 화자를 중심으로

This study discusses the phonetic characteristics of the Korean monophthong vowels produced by Vietnamese female speakers at the academic level. Unlike Korean female speakers, the quantitative results for /e/ and /ɛ/ vowels show that there was a statistically significant difference in F1 values (p < 0.05) and no statistically significant difference in F2 values (p > 0.05). Therefore, the difference in the height between the two vowels was maintained by Vietnamese speakers differently from native Korean female speakers. On the other hand, the back vowels /u/ and /o/ produced by female Vietnamese speakers had a statistically significant difference in F1 value, as well as F2 value (p < 0.05). Therefore, the pronunciation of Vietnamese female speakers’ vowels /u/ and /o/ was contrasted by the difference in the tongue height (F1) and position (F2), whereas the distance was maintained only by the difference in the tongue position (F2) in native Korean speakers. Therefore, all pairs of monophthong vowels produced by Vietnamese female speakers formed an opposition to each other, in the so called 8 vowel system, and the Euclidean distance between /u/ and /o/ was shorter than the distance between /e/ and /ɛ/.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma and primary lung cancer have vastly different treatment approaches and prognosis. If lung mass is found in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma, we have to be aware of the possibility of primary lung cancer especially when the lesion is not iodine-avid, or is not typical to metastatic thyroid carcinoma, or serum thyroglobulin is not elevated. Here we present two cases of non-small cell lung cancer masquerading as metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma and think of the approach of the lung mass which is found in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma.

게임놀이치료프로그램 효과에 대한 메타분석

This study meta-analyzed the effect of 32 research papers on children in academic journals published with domestic degrees and gameplay Therapy programs (2004-2017). As a result, the total effect size was 0.971, a large effect size. The impact scale by variable factor of disabled children, ages 3 to 5 years by age, and the impact scale of psychological variables by dependent variable were reported, with 11 to 15 sessions per process, total number of sessions 16 times or more, session count per week, and session count 61 to 90 minutes. The biggest research is meaningful in that it is the first comprehensive and objective analysis of gameplay Therapy programs and is expected to be used as basic data in treatment design when performing gameplay Therapy programs on clinical sites. 본 연구는 게임놀이치료 프로그램으로 발표된 국내 학위와 학술지 논문 중 아동을 대상으로한 연구논문 32편(2004∼2017년)을 최종 선정하여 그 효과성에 대한 메타 분석을 실시하였다.그 결과 전체 효과 크기는 0.971로 큰 효과크기를 보였다. 변인별 효과크기로 대상별은 장애아동이, 연령별로는 3∼5세가, 종속변인으로는 심리적변이 가장 큰 효과 크기를 보고 진행 절차별 효과 크기로 구성원 수는 11∼15명, 총 회기는 16회기 이상, 주당 회기 수는 기타, 회기 당 소요시간은 61∼90분이 가장 큰 효과 크기를 보였다. 게임놀이치료 프로그램에 대하여 총체적이고 객관적으로 분석한 최초의 연구라는 점에서 그 의의가 크며 임상현장에서 게임놀이치료 프로그램을 실시할 때 치료를 설계하는데 기초적인 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것을 기대한다.
