The pneumonia severity index (PSI) and CURB-65 are widely used tools for the prediction of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). This study was conducted to evaluate validation of severity scoring system including the PSI and CURB-65 scores of Korean CAP patients. In the prospective CAP cohort (participated in by 14 hospitals in Korea from January 2009 to September 2011), 883 patients aged over 18 yr were studied. The 30-day mortalities of all patients were calculated with their PSI index classes and CURB scores. The overall mortality rate was 4.5% (40/883). The mortality rates per CURB-65 score were as follows: score 0,2.3% (6/260); score 1, 4.0% (12/300); score 2, 6.0% (13/216); score 3, 5.7% (5/88); score 4, 23.5% (4/17); and score 5, 0% (0/2). Mortality rate with PSI risk class were as follows: I,2.3% (4/174); II, 2.7% (5/182); III, 2.3% (5/213); IV, 4.5% (11/245); and V, 21.7%(15/69). The subgroup mortality rate of Korean CAP patients varies based on the severity scores and CURB-65 is more valid for the lower scores, and PSI, for the higher scores. Thus, these variations must be considered when using PSI and CURB-65 for CAP in Korean patients.
모조 태풍 합성 재분석 바람장을 이용한 북서태평양 극치 해상풍 추정

In this study, extreme wind speeds in the Western North Pacific (WNP) were estimated using reanalysis wind fields synthesized with an empirical typhoon vortex model. Reanalysis wind data used is the Fifth-generation European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) reanalysis (ERA5) data, which was deemed to be the most suitable for extreme value analysis in this study. The empirical typhoon vortex model used has the advantage of being able to realistically reproduce the asymmetric winds of a typhoon by using the gale/storm-forced wind radii information in the 4 quadrants of a typhoon. Using a total of 39 years of the synthesized reanalysis wind fields in the WNP, extreme value analysis is applied to the General Pareto Distribution (GPD) model based on the Peak-Over-Threshold (POT) method, which can be used effectively in case of insufficient data. The results showed that the extreme analysis using the synthesized wind data significantly improved the tendency to underestimate the extreme wind speeds compared to using only reanalysis wind data. Considering the difficulty of obtaining long-term observational wind data at sea, the result of the synthesized wind field and extreme value analysis developed in this study can be used as basic data for the design of offshore structures.

천연의 금속매염염료인 자근에 의한 변의 염색에서 농후,견뢰염색을 목적으로 각종의 염색조건의 변화 및 변의 개질에 따른 염료의 염색성을 비교 ? 검토하였다. 그 결과 자근색소추출은 아세톤추출이 가장 적당하였으며,온도와 pH가 높을수록 염색시료가 bluish색상을 나타내었다. 카르복시메틸화면에 선매염후 67"C 에서의 염색이 염착량 증대 및 세탁견뢰도 향상에 효과적이었다.

저자들은 부주의에 의해 강알칼리를 마신 후 초기에 내시경 검사에서 식도, 위, 십이지장의 점막에서 IIa-IIa-0 정도의 손상을 보였던 환자가, 발생 9주째에 부식성 손상에 의한 상부 위장관 괴사로 진행되어 사망한 예를 경험하였기에 이에 대해 보고하는 바이다. Ingestion of corrosive substances can produce severe injury to the gastrointestinal tract and can even result in death in the acute phase. The extent and degree of damage depends on the type and amount of substances. There are occasional reports of severe contiguous injury to the esophagus and stomach caused by strong alkali ingestion in the acute phase. Usually the deaths occur within a couple of days due to multi-organ failure after ingestion of relatively much amount of agent for a suicidal attempt. But death due to late progression is very rare. We have reported a case of 60-year-old female patient who was diagnosed as corrosive esophagitis after accidental ingestion of strong alkali. Initial endoscopic findings were compatible with IIa-IIa-0(according to Zargar’s classification) in the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, respectively. After several weeks of supportive care, her subjective symptoms were much improved during she had been wating for the operation of colon interposition due to esophageal stricture. Metabolic acidosis and thrombocytopenia developed abruptly probably due to upper gastrointestinal tract necrosis and she died when 60 days had passed after the occurrence of initial esophageal injury.
열전도 패드가 적용된 6U 큐브위성용 태양전지판의 열적 특성 분석

In the case of cubesat, a PCB-based deployable solar panel advantageous in terms of weight reduction and electrical circuit design is widely used considering the limited weight and volume of satellites. However, because of the low thermal conductivity of PCB, there is a limit relative to heat dissipation. In this paper, the thermal gap pad is applied to the contact between the PCB-based solar panel and the aluminum stiffener mounted on the outside of the panel. Thus, the heat transfer from the solar cell to the rear side of the panel is facilitated. It maximizes the heat dissipation performance while maintaining the merits of PCB panel, and thus, it is possible to improve the power generation efficiency from reducing the temperature of the solar cell. The effectiveness of the thermal design of the 6U cubesat’s deployable solar panel using the thermal gap pad has been verified through on-orbit thermal analysis based on the results, compared with the conventional PCB-based solar panel. 초소형 위성인 큐브위성의 경우 위성체의 제한적인 중량 및 부피를 고려하여 경량화 및 전기적 회로 설계 측면에서 유리한 PCB 기반의 전개형 태양전지판이 폭넓게 적용되고 있으나, PCB의 낮은 두께 방향 열전도율로 인해 태양전지셀의 방열이 어려운 점이 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 6U 큐브위성용 태양전지판은 PCB 기반의 태양전지판으로 제작되고, 판넬 외곽에 장착된 알루미늄 보강재 접속부에 열전도 패드가 적용된다. 따라서 판넬 전면부의 태양전지셀에서 방열면인 판넬 후면으로 열전달이 원활하도록 하여 PCB 적용에 따른 장점을 유지하면서도 방열성능을 극대화함으로서 태양전지셀 온도 하강에 따른 전력생성효율 향상이 가능한 장점을 갖는다. 본 연구에서 제안된 열전도 패드가 적용된 태양전지판의 열제어 측면에서의 유효성 입증을 위해 궤도 열해석을 통해 기존 PCB 태양전지판과 비교 분석을 실시하였다.
