The surface water-wave experiments using a ripple tank have several demerits. It is difficult to measure the period and wavelength of the water wave. Also, the experimental apparatus itself is very complicated. From these reasons, many physics teachers hesitate to do water wave experiments in their classes. Therefore, we proposed a new simple teaching method to explain several wave phenomena in water wave by using moire fringes as supplementary materials. As a results, we recognized that the students carry out experiments in an hour and the concept of wave phenomena in wave experiments because they can easily understand several wave phenomena by measuring wave length, incidence and refraction angle, number of nodal lines, reflection nagle in surface water wave experiments.

12l patients with cervical(45 patients). thoracolumbar(76 patients) compression or mild burst fractures from January 1984 to December 1994 were studied : 98 patients were treated postural reduction with hyperextension posture and 23 patients were with postural reduction and surgical methods We compared the initial and post-reduction compression height ratio. wedge angls and kyphosis angle of compression fractures The results were not only expansion of a compressed vertebral body but also successful fusion. The neurological recovery status according to Frankei classification was also improved after postural reduction. Most of the compression fractures or stable burst fractures of the cervical. thoracolumbar spines can be restored by the postural reduction

The test for internal and external rotation of hip joint, was donet from September 2 to 9, 2002, with the participation of 50 male/female university students who are in a normal health condition. Results are : 1. When applying the external rotation of 45 degrees angle ; 1) In a sitting position, for male it results in an increase of 5 degrees on right and left sides each. 2) In a sittmg position, for female there is no change on both right and left sides. 3) In a supine position, for both male and female it results in an increase of 5 to 10 degrees on right and left sides each. 4) In a prone position, for male it results in an increase of 5 degrees on the left side only. 5) In a prone position, for female it results in an increase of 5 to 10 degrees on right and left sides each. 2. When applying the internal rotation of 45 degrees angle ; 1) In a sitting position, for male it results in a decrease of 5 degrees on right and left sides each. 2) In a sitting position, for female there is no change on both right and left sides. 3) In a supine and prone position, there is no change for male. 4) In a supine position, for female it results in an increase of 5 to 10 degrees on right and left sides each. 5) In a prone position, for female it results in an increase of 5 degrees on right and left sides each.

Purpose : This study was conducted to develop field triage, transportation, distribution, and prehospital care at a fire disaster by analyzing the victims of the fore that broke out at a bar in Incheon. Method : We analyzed the cases of the victims of a fire in Incheon in Oct. 1999. We determined the primary care hospital, the arrival time, the burn size, the outcome, and the injury type from the medical records, the concerned organ records, and interviews with concerned persons. Result : The total number of victims was 137: 56 prehospital deaths, 1 hospital death, and 80 survivals. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the burn size and the severity was -0.175. There were 121(89.6%) cases of inhalation injury, 59 (43.7%) cases of flame burns, 66 (48.9%) cases of hypoxic brain damage, and 16 (11.9%) cases involving other types of injury. Conclusion : The causes of death of the fire victims were inhalation injury and hypoxic brain damage due to CO poisoning and other toxic inhalants. We propose the use of a simple triage and rapid treatment(START) system and a reassessment the delayed category in fire disasters.

Sasang constitutional medicine (SCM) shares its philosophy with that of personalized medicine: it provides constitution-specific treatment and healthcare individualized for each patient. In this work, we propose the concept of the Sasang Health Index (SHI) as an attempt to assess the individualized health status in the framework of SCM. From the target population of females in their fifties and older, we recruited 298 subjects and collected their physiological data, including complexion, radial pulse, and voice, and their questionnaire responses. The health status of each subject was evaluated by two Korean medical doctors independently, and the SHI model was obtained by combining all the integrative features of the phenotype data using a regression technique. As a result, most subjects belonged to either the healthy, subhealthy, or slightly diseased group, and the intraclass correlation coefficient between the two doctors' health scoring reached 0.95. We obtained an SHI model for each constitution type with adjusted R-squares of 0.50, 0.56, and 0.30, for the TE, SE, and SY constitution types, respectively. In the proposed SHI model, the significant characteristics used in the health assessment consisted of constitution-specific features in accordance with the classic literature and features common to all the constitution types.

To investigate the emergence and prevalence of antiviral resistance, we analyzed influenza A/H3N2 viruses isolated in Korea during 2002/03 to 2003/04 season by genetic and phenotypic assay. For the genetic analysis to the amantadine, an M2 protein inhibitor, the M gene was amplified by RT-PCR and regions corresponding to the amino acid at positions 27, 30, and 31 were amplified by nested PCR with size of 154 bp, 95 bp, and 153 bp fragments, respectively. A total of 3 of 31 (9.7%) viruses were found to be mutated by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) with Sca I and sequence analysis, showing the single amino acid change (Ser to Asn) at position 31. Also it was observed that their growths in Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells were unaffected by amantadine (up to $1\;{\mu}g/ml$) in both plaque assay and WST-1 assay, confirming that these viruses were resistant against amantadine. We also examined the resistant pattern against zanamivir, a neuraminidase inhibitor, for 15 Korean influenza A/H3N2 viruses isolated in $2002{\sim}2003$ season. Sequence analysis showed that there were no genetic changes of NA genes including R292K, K274Y, R152K, and E119V which were related to resistance against the neuraminidase inhibitor. In the NA inhibition assay to zanamivir, Korean isolates were found to be sensitive, ranging from 0.17 nM to 1.77 nM in 50% inhibitory concentration ($IC_{50}$). These results suggest that monitoring for the antiviral resistance should be intensified and maintained to provide guideline for prophylaxis and treatment of influenza in Korea.
