      • 수산화마그네슘에 의한 배연탈황에 관한 연구

        This study has been carried out to evaluate the effect on desulfurization of flue gas by Mg(OH)₂in steam-power cogeneration plant. We investigated the effects of desulfurizatin on the temperature of flue gas and pH of circulation water in aborber. The desulfurization installations of flue gas in cogeneration and thermoelectric power plant will be increased every year because of stricted environmental regulation in Korea. Some conclusions obtained are summerized as follows ; 1. With regard to running cost, Mg(OH)₂ absorbent for desulfurization of flue gas snowed more economic than Ca(OH)₂. 2. While bunker-C oil with 1.6% sulfur was used, desulfurization of flue gas by Mg(OH)₂ was performed and then SO₂ content in the exhausted gas was under 50 ppm. 3. In flue gas desulfurization, the optimum condition on the temperature and pH was 55-60℃ and 6 respectively, then efficiency was 96%.

        Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.

        Electronic Speckle Pattern Interfrometry is a common method for measuring out-of-plane displacement and in-plane displacement and applied for vibration analysis and strain/stress analysis. However, ESPI is sensitive to environmental disturbance, which provide the limitation of industrial application. On the other hand, Shearography based on shearing interferometer can directly measure the first derivative of out-of-plane displacement, which is insensitive to vibration disturbance. This paper proposes the out-of-plane displacement extraction technique from results of Shearography by numerical processing and measurement results of ESPI and Shearoraphy are compared quantitatively.

        Currently the evaluation of high school science and mathematics learning has been too much knowledge-centered without concerning the inquiring ability or scientific attitude. This study, therefore, was made for the purpose of establishing of evaluation model for high school science (biology and earth science) and mathematics learning and its evaluation items. In this paper, the research was done about three fields, biology, earth science and mathematics. 1. For the biology, the evaluation methods of inquiry learning were studied with the foreign references, and proper evaluation items were suggested. 2. For the earth science, after analizing 5 kinds of earth science textbook of current using in high school, essential 19 items were selected. 5 of them were tested in test group and control group, then, the results were analized. 3. For the mathematice, the teaching elements of「Set」and「Flow chart」in mathematics (Ⅰ) were selected and structured. Detailed teaching objects were established and evaluation items were introduced.

      • 흡연에 의한 급성 호산구성 폐렴 2예

        최근 흡연을 시작한 젊은 성언에서 급성 호산구성 폐렴의 발생에 대한 증례가 보고되고 있다. 급성 호산구성 폐렴은 대개 발열을 동반하기 때문에 초기에는 감염성 폐렴으로 잘못 진단, 치료되는 경우가 많다. 아직 정확한 병태 생리 및 조직학적 소견은 밝혀져 있지 않지만 병력 청취 및 임상 양상, 방사선 소견의 관찰을 통해 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 의심하고, 진단을 위해 기관지 폐포 세척액 검사를 시행한다면 좀 더 쉽게 진단 내릴 수 있을 것이다. 본 저자들은 최근 처음 시작한 흡연에 의해 발생한 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 진단하고, 스테로이드를 투여하여 성공적으로 치료한 환자 2예를 경험하였기에 이를 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute eosinophilic pneumonia(AEP) is characterized by acute febrile respiratory illness associated with diffuse pulmonary infiltration and pulmonary eosinophilia. The specific etiology for acute eosinophilic pneumonia is elusive. By some investigators, cigarette smoking is suggested as a causative substance which can cause AEP. In recent, the authors experienced two cases of AEP following cigarette smoking. Both cases had characteristic features including age around 20 years, new onset smoking before occurance of AEP, diffuse infiltration on chest radiography, pulmonary eosinophilia based on bronchoalveolar lavage and acute improvement after steroid therapy. These clinical features are resemble with previous smoking induced AEP case reports. Base on these clinical features, cigarette smoking associated AEP could be diagnosed more easily.

        Crystal Structure Changes of LiNi<sub>0.5</sub>Co<sub>0.2</sub>Mn<sub>0.3</sub>O<sub>2</sub> Cathode Materials During the First Charge Investigated by in situ XRD

        The structural changes of $Li_{1-x}Ni_{0.5}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.3}O_2$ cathode material for lithium ion battery during the first charge was investigated in comparison with $Li_{1-x}Ni_{0.8}Co_{0.15}Al_{0.05}O_2$ using a synchrotron based in situ X-ray diffraction technique. The structural changes of these two cathode materials show similar trend during first charge: an expansion along the c-axis of the unit cell with contractions along the a- and b-axis during the early stage of charge and a major contraction along the c-axis with slight expansions along the a- and b-axis near the end of charge at high voltage limit. In $Li_{1-x}Ni_{0.5}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.3}O_2$ cathode, however, the initial unit cell volume of H2 phase is bigger than that of H1 phase since the c-axis undergo large expansion while a- and b- axis shrink slightly. The change in the unit cell volume for $Li_{1-x}Ni_{0.5}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.3}O_2$ during charge is smaller than that of $Li_{1-x}Ni_{0.8}Co_{0.15}Al_{0.05}O_2$. This smaller change in unit cell volume may give the $Li_{1-x}Ni_{0.5}Co_{0.2}Mn_{0.3}O_2$ cathode material a better structural reversibility for a long cycling life.

      • Blackberry Extract Attenuates Oxidative Stress through Up-regulation of Nrf2-Dependent Antioxidant Enzymes in Carbon Tetrachloride-Treated Rats

        <P>The aim of this study was to investigate the protective ability of blackberry extract (BE) against oxidative stress in carbon tetrachloride (CCl<SUB>4</SUB>)-treated rats. The results showed that treatment with BE attenuated lipid peroxidation that was increased by CCl<SUB>4</SUB> and also markedly recovered the activity of antioxidant enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), and glutathione reductase (GR), that were decreased by CCl<SUB>4</SUB>. BE also elevated the protein expression levels of NF-E2-related factor-2 (Nrf2), CuZnSOD, MnSOD, GPx-1/2, and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), but not that of catalase. Furthermore, the administration of BE significantly attenuated the levels of serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) that were increased by CCl<SUB>4</SUB>.         저온 초음파 추출에 의한 Spirulina maxima 면역활성 증진

        본 실험은 해수에서 배양된 Spirulina maxima를 100℃와 초음파 병행 60℃ 물 추출물, 80℃ EtOH 추출물을 이용하여 실험을 수행하였다. AOAC법에 의한 일반 조성 및 무기질, 아미노산 조성 분석결과 조 단백질과 무기질 중 나트륨이 각각 56, 60%의 비교적 높은 비율을 차지했으며, 다양한 균주의 필수 아미노산을 포함하고 있었다. 그중 피부와 관련된 leucine의 함량이 9.83%로 상대적으로 풍부하여 S. maxima 피부면역 활성 증진에 효율적인 소재의 가능성을 확인했다. 본 연구에서는 피부 면역과 인체 면역과의 밀접한 상관성이 있으므로 본 연구에서는 T 세포와 B 세포의 생육증진 및 cytokine의 분비량 측정과 NK 세포의 활성 및 항염증 효과인 hyaluronidase 저해 활성 효과를 측정하였다. 먼저 정상세포(HEK293)에 대한 세포독성 결과 인체에 큰 독성을 나타내지 않는 것으로 나타난 S. maxima를 추출조건에 따른 면역증진 효과를 비교한 결과 60℃ 초음파 병행 물 추출물이 면역 B세포와 T세포에서 각각 11.3×10sub{4} cells/mL, 12.8×10sub{4} cells/mL으로 6일째 가장 높은 생육도를 보였다, 이러한 면역 세포들이 분비하는 cytokine(IL-6, TNF-α)의 분비량은 가장 높은 생육도를 보인 60℃ 초음파 병행 물 추출물을 첨가한 B세포, T세포의 경우 IL-6와 TNF-α는 유의적으로 증가된 분비량을 보이며, 면역 및 기능성 소재로서의 활성이 뛰어난 것으로 나타났다. B세포에 각 시료를 첨가하여 배양 후 그 배양액을 NK 세포에 첨가하였을 때, 6일 동안 생육도를 관찰하였는데 시료에 대한 생육도가 증가하며, 6일째 12.40×10sub{4} cells/mL를 나타내어 11.49×10sub{4} cells/mL를 나타낸 대조군에 비해 높은 활성을 나타내었으며, 이로써 활성물질을 포함하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 또한 항염증 효과의 hyaluronidase 저해 활성 효과에서 60℃ 초음파 병행 물 추출물이 1.0mg/mL 농도일 때 62.4%의 저해 활성을 보여 100℃ 이상의 고온 추출에서 야기되는 단백질이나 미립자 활성 물질의 파괴가 최소화되고 저온 초음파 추출 시 유용성분들의 용출량 증가와 새로운 물질들의 생산 혹은 활성변형에 의한 추출을 통해 인체면역과 피부면역 활성 증진에 활용이 가능한 효율적인 소재화가 가능한 것을 확인했다. 이로써, 본 연구 논문은 S. maxima의 물질 분리보다 피부면역관련 활성을 통한 소재로서의 탐색이 주목적이므로 향후 이 추출물의 분리, 동정을 통해 피부 면역 활성도에 따라 물질의 구조 분석에 관한 연구를 보이고자 한다. The marine microalga Spirulina maxima was extracted using water or ethanol at 100 or 80℃ and by ultrasonification in water at 60℃. The ultrasonification technique generated the highest yield (19.8%). To be therapeutically useful, the extraction should yield a product with low cytotoxicity and high immunity against skin infections. The cytotoxicity of all extracts (1.0 mg/mL) was below 25%. Moreover, the cytotoxicity of the extract generated by ultrasonification was 5%. Extracts prepared in the described manners could inhibit hyaluronidase activity by up to 40% compared to the control. Increased growth of human B, T and NK cells and an increase in cytokine secretion were observed, confirming the interrelationship between both human immune and skin immune activity. The extract prepared by ultrasonification increased the growth of human B, T and NK cells up to 10.3×10sub{4} cells/mL, 11.3×10sub{4} cells/mL and 19.1×10sub{4} cells/mL, respectively. The extract prepared by ultrasonification also greatly increased the secretion of both IL-6 and TNF-α. Moreover, it was estimated that protein, Na and leucine occupy a high ratio. Accordingly, this study has confirmed that extracts prepared as described have the potential to effectively increase skin immunity.

        Decrease of Parasitic Capacitance for Improvement of RF Performance of Multi-finger MOSFETs in 90-nm CMOS Technology

        In this paper, the RF characteristics of multi-finger MOSFETs were improved by decreasing the parasitic capacitance in spite of increased gate resistance in a 90-nm CMOS technology. Two types of device structures were designed to compare the parasitic capacitance in the gate-to-source (Cgs) and gate-to-drain (Cgd) configurations. The radio frequency (RF) performance of multi-finger MOSFETs, such as cut-off frequency (fT) and maximum-oscillation frequency (fmax) improved by approximately 10% by reducing the parasitic capacitance about 8.2% while maintaining the DC performance.
