This study was conducted to produce effectively more leaves of Angelica acutiloba through year-round production system by using various mulching materials and polyethylene(PE) tunnel. Soil temperature by covering treatment was higher in PE mulching and PE tunnel than in rice straw mulching, especially showing the highest temperature in PE tunnel from April through May. Water content of soil was higher in PE mulching than in non-mulching. Leaf production of Angelica acutiloba through year-round production showed the highest in PE tunnel and root production in PE mulching. These results suggest that leaf production of Angelica acutiloba can be maximized through PE tunnel cultivation system.
Effect of Activated Charcoal on Growth of Zingiber mioga ROSC

Activate charcoal (AC) can be utilized as a soil conditioner in agricultural crop areas. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of AC on growth and yield of Zingiber mioga ROSC as affected by different amounts of AC. The results obtained are summarized as follows. Growth characteristics including plant height and leaf length were the highest when activated charcoal added with 10-30%, suggesting that optimum amount of activated charcoal was ranged from 10 to 30%. Growth and enlargement of the root were improved by 10% AC with higher rhizome length and weight.
A Basic Study on Leaf and Stem Production of Angelica acutiloba

This study was conducted to develop effective production system in greenhouse for leaves and stems of Angelica acutiloba by using connect pots in 2003 and 2004. Seed germination rate and plant biomass of Angelica acutiloba collected in 2004 were higher than those harvested in 2003. Germination rate of Angelica acutiloba seeds collected in 2003 was 10%, while germination rate of seeds collected in 2004 was above 90%. Especially, plant growth and yield of Angelica acutiloba grown in connect pots sized with 4×4×5cm(length×width×height) were the highest. These results indicate that leaf and stem production of Angelica acutiloba can be improved by using connect pots and optimizing seed collecting time in greenhouse.

중심금속chromium(III)와 리간드인.amino acid(L-serine)[serine=HOCH₂CH(NH₂)CO₂H]사이의 결합의 특성을 파악하기 위하여 저온(13K)에서의 luminescence 스펙트럼과 excitation 스펙트럼을 측정하였다.Tris (L-serinato)chromium(III)착화합물은 산소 원자 3개와 질소원자 3개로 이루어진 facial 형태의 geometry를 가진 착화합물이다.Amino acid 를 리간드로 가진 다른 착화합물과는 달리, serine 착화합물은 β탄소위치에 hydroxy group이 치환되어 있어서 electronic effect 와 steric dffect의 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 산소원자의 π비등방성 결합을 포함한 ligand field analysis로 부터, serine 착화합물의 자세한 electronic structure와 결합특성을 살펴보기로 하겠다. Low temperature (13K)luminescence and excitation spectra were measured to anlayze the bonding characteristics between Cr(III)and amino acid(L-serne) ligand. Tris(L-serinato)chromium(III) complex has three oxygen and three nitrogen ligand atoms in facial geometry. Unlike oter complexes with amino acids, additional hydroxyl group in β-carbon tom is expected to have electronic an steric effects. From the ligand field analysis including anisotropic πbonding on oxygen atom, we found that both oxygen and nitrogen atom is weak σdonor. The splitting of electronic lines and bonding characteristics in the title compound are explained by considering the geometric effect, especially anisotropic πbonding.

This study was designed to exam the aged's needs for spiritual nursing care. The purpose was to serve as a basis for the development of spiritual nursing practice. The major findings are as follows : 1. The degree of needs for spiritual nursing care as area was that needs of love and relationship mean 22.0, needs of meaning and object mean 28.2, needs of forgiving mean 13.5. Total needs for spiritual nursing care mean 63.7, which was on the upper middle level. The needs of meaning and object was rated highest. 2. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of love and relatiohship wasn't significanlty different. 3. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, needs of meaning and object was significantly different according to two factors : age(F=7.260, p=0.001), religion(F=5.275, p=0.001). Higher needs of meaning and object was possessed by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other. 4. Among the general characteristics of the subjects, four factors made a significantly difference to needs of forgiving : sex(t=-2.851, p=0.006), age(F=8.201, p=0.001), religion(F=6.928, p=0.000), disease(t=2.327, p=0.024). Higher needs of forgiving was possessed by man than woman, by the older than the younger, by the one who have religion than the other, by the one who have disease than the other.

This study was carried out to count of the number of lactic acid bacteria and bifido bacteria in commercial yogurts during transportation. Yogurts were collected from supermarkets in Suwon area and were stored at 10℃. Titratable acidity, pH, bifidobacteria count, and lactic acid bacteria count of commercial yoghurts. Titratable acidity was slowly increased from 0.8% to 1.2% and pH decreased from 3.88 to 4.5 at 10℃ during 12 days. Total range of lactic acid bacteria of the yogurts were 10^8-10^9 cfu/ml. For the bifidobacteria, some samples of B, N, P, S indicated 103.8-106 cfu/ml and products H, M, Y showed 10^7.8-10^8.8 cfu/ml during storage for 10 days. The number of lactic acid bacteria in all the sample products were contained over than 10^7 cfu/ml with regal level during transportation.

An algorithm to automatically extract coordinate and time information from optical observation data of geostationary orbit satellites (GEO satellites) or geosynchronous orbit satellites (GOS satellites) is developed. The optical wide-field patrol system is capable of automatic observation using a pre-arranged schedule. Therefore, if this type of automatic analysis algorithm is available, daily unmanned monitoring of GEO satellites can be possible. For data acquisition for development, the COMS1 satellite was observed with 1-s exposure time and 1-m interval. The images were grouped and processed in terms of “action”, and each action was composed of six or nine successive images. First, a reference image with the best quality in one action was selected. Next, the rest of the images in the action were geometrically transformed to fit in the horizontal coordinate system (expressed in azimuthal angle and elevation) of the reference image. Then, these images were median-combined to retain only the possible non-moving GEO candidates. By reverting the coordinate transformation of the positions of these GEO satellite candidates, the final coordinates could be calculated.
