<P>The residual contact toxicity of three benzofuranoids (<I>Z</I>)-butylidenephthalide (<B>1</B>), (3<I>S</I>)-butylphthalide (<B>2</B>), and (<I>Z</I>)-ligustilide (<B>3</B>) identified in the rhizome of <I>Cnidium officinale</I> (Apiaceae) to B- and Q-biotype females of <I>Bemisia tabaci</I> was evaluated using a leaf-dip bioassay. Results were compared with those of eight conventional insecticides. Based on 24 h LC50 values, (<I>Z</I>)-butylidenephthalide (254 ppm) and (<I>Z</I>)-ligustilide (268 ppm) were more toxic than (3<I>S</I>)-butylphthalide (339 ppm) against B-biotype females, whereas (<I>Z</I>)-ligustilide (254 ppm) and (3<I>S</I>)-butylphthalide (338 ppm) were more toxic than (<I>Z</I>)-butylidenephthalide (586 ppm) against Q-biotype females. Thiamethoxam, imidacloprid, and acetamiprid differ significantly in toxicity between the B- and Q-biotype females (LC50, 1.7 to 11.6 vs 364.5 to >3000 ppm). This original finding indicates that the phthalides and the neonicotinoids do not share a common mode of action or elicit cross-resistance. Structure–activity relationship indicates that the presence of conjugation rather than aromaticity appeared to play an important role for phthalide toxicities to the B-biotype females. Global efforts to reduce the level of highly toxic synthetic insecticides in the agricultural environment justify further studies on <I>C. officinale</I> rhizome-derived materials as potential insecticides for the control of <I>B. tabaci</I> populations.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Copper(I) sulfide (Cu2S) films are deposited on 15 nm-thick Ti (Titania) interlayer-coated fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrates. This is performed using potentiodynamic electrodeposition at selective numbers of cycles (10−20) in the potential range of −0.7 V to −0.2 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), followed by sulfurization. The results of Cu2S films on the FTO/Ti substrates are subsequently employed as counter electrodes for cadmium selenide quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSSC). The Ti interlayer facilitates the Cu (copper) nucleation, during the Cu electrodeposition and leads to side-by-side packing of small Cu2S nanosheets after sulfurization. In contrast, conventional Cu2S grown on the FTO consists of a mixture of large and small Cu2S nanosheets. The distinct nanostructure of the FTO/Ti/Cu2S counter electrodes enhances the electrocatalytic activity and electrochemical stability comparing to those of FTO/Pt (Platinum) and FTO/Cu2S films. This is due to the increased number of electrochemically active sites, fast ion transport in the Cu2S nanosheets perpendicular to the substrate, and good adhesion to the Ti interlayer. The optimized FTO/Ti/Cu2S electrode, deposited in 15 cycles, contributes to significantly increase the cell efficiency (4.11%) of the QDSSC, resulting in 140% and 35.2% performances improvements for the QDSSCs with the Pt (1.71%) and FTO/Cu2S (3.04%) counter electrodes, respectively.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Cu2S prepared by electrochemical deposition on Ti interlayer-coated FTO. </LI> <LI> Ti interlayer facilitates the uniform Cu nucleation growth with small size. </LI> <LI> FTO/Ti/Cu2S (15 cycle) show excellent electrocatalytic activity and stability. </LI> <LI> QDSSC with the FTO/Ti/Cu2S exhibits significantly enhanced cell performance. </LI> </UL> </P>
13Cr 마르텐사이트계 스테인리스강의 내식성에 미치는 Mo 첨가량 및 템퍼링 온도의 영향

Martensitic Stainless Steel has high strength and hardness in comparison with other stainless steels. But the toughness and corrosion resistance is lower. So lots of researches have been done in order to improve these properties. In the previous study the alloying element of Mo resulted in increasing the toughness at tempered condition of the steel. It has been investigated in this work how the Mo addition and tempering condition influence on the various types of corrosion behavior of 13% Cr martensitic stainless steel. Corrosion resistance was hardly changed by the tempering up to temperature of 500℃, but decreased at 600℃ due to the formation of Cr carbide on the prior austenite boundary. However, the corrosion resistance increased again at 700℃, because Cr carbides were resolved and redistributed. Both general corrosion resistance and intergranular corrosion resistance of tempered steel are significantly improved with Mo content.

In the 21st century, when the media industry was developed, virtual reality (VR) became popular all over the world, making it easy for anyone to access. Currently, it is trying to integrate with VR in various content fields, and interest in video content and film production using the technology is increasing. Since VR technology is collaborated by experts from the planning stage, knowledge in architecture and interior design is essential to create a space with high immersion. In this study, the following hypothesis was established and demonstrated to prove that the physical immersion as well as emotional immersion in VR space would be higher than 2D space, based on visual emotional keywords among human perceptual sensitivity to derive comparative analysis of emotional keywords in indoor space and VR space. The experimental results show that Hypothesis 1 was established, and Hypothesis 2 was not. Furthermore, although the validation of the hypothesis enabled comparative analysis of keywords in 2D environments and PC-VR environments, it is difficult to expect absolute figures due to the lack of detail on the overall space and the relatively small number of subjects. There were also young variables during the experiment, such as experimenters complaining of dizziness and inexperience in using equipment. Therefore, it is likely that the experimenter will need to be informed of the understanding and operation of sufficient equipment in advance.

Background/Aims: This study investigated the prognostic power of corrected QT (QTc) interval in patients with acute heart failure (AHF) according to sex. Methods: We analyzed multicenter Korean Acute Heart Failure registry with patients with AHF admitted from 2011 to 2014. Among them, we analyzed 4,990 patients who were followed up to 5 years. Regarding QTc interval based on 12 lead electrocardiogram, patients were classified into quartiles according to sex. Results: During follow-up with median 43.7 months, 2,243 (44.9%) patients died. The relationship between corrected QT interval and all-cause mortality followed a J-curve relationship. In Kaplan-Meier analysis, both sex had lowest mortality in the second QTc quartile. There were significant prognostic differences between the second and the fourth quartiles in male (log-rank p = 0.002), but not in female (log-rank p = 0.338). After adjusting covariates, the third (hazard ratio [HR], 1.185; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.001 to 1.404; p = 0.049) and the fourth (HR, 1.404; 95% CI, 1.091 to 1.535; p = 0.003) quartiles demonstrated increased risk of mortality compared to the second quartile in male. In female, however, there was no significant difference across quartiles. QTc interval was associated with 5-year all-cause mortality in J-shape with nadir of 440 to 450 ms in male and 470 to 480 ms in female. Conclusions: QTc interval was an independent predictor of overall death in male, but its significance decreased in female. The relationship between QTc interval and all-cause mortality was J-shaped in both sex.
