Background and Purposes: Over the past three decades, numerous studies performed in Korea have reported that job stress is a determinant risk factor for chronic diseases and work disability. Every society has its own culture and occupational climate particular to their organizations, and hence experiences different occupational stress. An occupational stress measurement tool therefore needs to be developed to estimate it objectively. The purpose of this study is to develop and standardize the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS) which is considered to be unique and specific occupational stressors in Korean employees. Subjects and Methods: Data were obtained from the National Study for Development and Standardization of Occupational Stress (NSDSOS Project: 2002-2004). A total of 12,631 employees from a nationwide sample proportional to the Korean Standard Industrial Classification and the Korean Standard Occupational Classification were administered. The KOSS was developed for 2 years (2002-2004). In the first year, we collected 255 items from the most popular job stress measurement tools such as JCQ, ERI, NIOSH and OSI, and 44 items derived from the a qualitative study (depth interview). Forty-three items of KOSS, in the second year, were retained for use in the final version of the KOSS by using Delphi and factor analysis. Items were scored using conventional 1-2-3-4 Likert scores for the response categories. Results: We developed eight subscales by using factor analysis and validation process: physical environment (3 items), job demand (8 items), insufficient job control (5 items), interpersonal conflict (4 items), job insecurity (6 items), organizational system (7 items), lack of reward (6 items), and occupational climate (4 items). Together they explained 50.0% of total variance. Internal consistency alpha scores were ranged from 0.51 to 0.82. Twenty-four items of the short form of the KOSS (KOSS-SF) were also developed to estimate job stress in the work setting. Because the levels of the subscales of occupational stress were gender dependent, gender-specific standard norms for both the 43-item full version and the 24-item short form using a quartile for the subscales of KOSS were presented. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that KOSS might be an appropriate measurement scale to estimate occupational stress of Korean employees. Further and more detailed study needs to be conducted to improve the validity of this scale.

In this paper, we study on an optimal design of a triple-band PIFA (Planar Inverted-F Antenna) of 433 ㎒, 912 ㎒ and 2.45 ㎓ by using evolution strategy. Generally, the resonant frequency of the PIFA is determined by the width and length of a U-type slot used. However the resonant frequencies of the multiple U slots are varied by the mutual effect of the slots. Thus the optimal width and length of U-type slots are determined by using an optimal design program based on the evolution strategy. To achieve this, an interface program between a commercial EM analysis tool and the optimal design program is constructed for implementing the evolution strategy technique that seeks a global optimum of the objective function through the iterative design process consisting of variation and reproduction. The resonant frequencies of initial model are 439.5 ㎒, 981.5 ㎒ and 2.563 ㎓. However, the resonant frequencies of the triple-band PIFA yielded by the optimal design program are 430.5 ㎒, 907 ㎒ and 2.4515 ㎓. Measured resonant frequencies are 433.5 ㎒, 905.5 ㎒ and 2.454GHz, which show a good agreement with the simulation results.

Cardiac lymphatic system in the remodeling after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has been overlooked. We wanted to investigate the role of bone marrow-derived endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and their contribution to lymphatic distribution in myocardial remodeling after AMI. Mouse (C57bl/6J) MI models were created by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery and were treated with phosphate buffered saline (PBS) or EPCs. Real-time RT-PCR with 2- to 4-week myocardial tissue samples revealed that lymphangiogenetic factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-C (8.5 fold, $P$ < 0.05), VEGF-D (6.1 fold, $P$ < 0.05), Lyve-1 (15 fold, $P$ < 0.05), and Prox-1 (11 fold, $P$ < 0.05) were expressed at significantly higher levels in the PBS group than the EPC group. The PBS group also showed a significantly higher density of lymphatic vessels in the peri-infarction area. Echocardiography showed that from 2 weeks after the treatment, left ventricle (LV) dimensions at both systole and diastole were significantly smaller in the EPC group than in the PBS group ($P$ < 0.01) and LV fractional shortening was higher in the EPC group accordingly ($P$ < 0.01). Lymphangiogenic markers increased in a mouse MI model. EPC transplantation decreased lymphangiogenesis and adverse ventricular remodeling after AMI. These novel findings suggest that new lymphatic vessels may be formed in severely damaged myocardium, and may be involved in adverse myocardial remodeling after AMI.

The Hijiki (Sargassum fusiforme) is rich in vitamins and minerals. But Hijiki contains a high amount of inorganic arsenic. To reduce the risk of inorganic arsenic in Hijiki, this study examined various processing that can be applied in the field. In addition, to improve the storage and quality of Hijiki, a seaweed pickle sauce with Hwangchil (Dendropanax morbifera) and cinnamon was developed. To remove inorganic arsenic from the seaweed, the raw, dried, or salted materials of seaweed were boiled in different conditions. It was found that 86∼89% of total arsenic can be removed by salting and boiling for 5 min. It is estimated that the inorganic arsenic content of dried Hijiki prepared by this method is 0.65∼2.75 mg/kg. Antibacterial activities of the herbal sauce containing Hwangchil and cinnamon were tested by paper disk diffusion method, MIC and growth inhibition over time against E. coli and S. aureus. As for the control sauce, the clear zone of E. coli and S. aureus was 22 mm and 18 mm, and the herbal sauce was 25 mm and 21 mm. For E. coli and S. aureus, the MIC of the control sauce was 46.25 mg/mL, and the herbal sauce showed an excellent antibacterial effect of 23.13 mg/mL.
Bilingual Multiword Expression Alignment by Constituent-Based Similarity Score

This paper presents the constituent-based approach for aligning bilingual multiword expressions, such as noun phrases, by considering the relationship not only between source expressions and their target translation equivalents but also between the expressions and constituents of the target equivalents. We only considered the compositional preferences of multiword expressions and not their idiomatic usages because our multiword identification method focuses on their collocational or compositional preferences. In our experimental results, the constituent-based approach showed much better performances than the general method for extracting bilingual multiword expressions. For our future work, we will examine the scoring method of the constituent-based approach in regards to having the best performance. Moreover, we will extend target entries in the evaluation dictionaries by considering their synonyms.

Gastric cancer stem-like cells (GCSCs) possess stem cell properties, such as self-renewal and tumorigenicity, which are known to induce high chemoresistance and metastasis. These characteristics of GCSCs are further enhanced by autophagy, worsening the prognosis of patients. Currently, the mechanisms involved in the induction of stemness in GCSCs during autophagy remain unclear. In this study, we compared the cellular responses of GCSCs with those of gastric cancer intestinal cells (GCICs) whose stemness is not induced by autophagy. In response to glucose starvation, the levels of β-catenin and stemness-related genes were upregulated in GCSCs, while the levels of β-catenin declined in GCICs. The pattern of deubiquitinase ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L3 (UCH-L3) expression in GCSCs and GCICs was similar to that of β-catenin expression depending on glucose deprivation. We also observed that inhibition of UCH-L3 activity reduced β-catenin protein levels. The interaction between UCH-L3 and β-catenin proteins was confirmed, and it reduced the ubiquitination of β-catenin. Our results suggest that UCH-L3 induces the stabilization of β-catenin, which is required to promote stemness during autophagy activation. Also, UCH-L3 expression was regulated by c-Fos, and the levels of c-Fos increased in response to autophagy activation. In summary, our findings suggest that the inhibition of UCH-L3 during nutrient deprivation could suppress stress resistance of GCSCs and increase the survival rates of gastric cancer patients.

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a severe and rare disease usually related to drug eruption. AGEP is induced by drugs in over 90% of cases with antibiotics being the most common. It is characterized by a fever and a pustular eruption on erythematous skin with acute onset and without follicular localization. Acetaminophen is commonly used as an antipyretic and analgesic. Acetaminophen has been reported to be an uncommon cause of AGEP. We report a 79-year-old woman presenting with fever and erythematous maculopapular eruptions on the trunk with sterile pustules arising upon the use of acetaminophen for back pain. Leukocytosis and elevated C-reactive protein levels were noted on the laboratory examination. The histopathological examination of the skin biopsy specimen showed intraepidermal pustule formation with superficial perivascular lymphocytic infiltration, including eosinophils, and extensive red blood cell extravasation. The lesions were resolved with discontinuation of acetaminophen and use of systemic corticosteroid. We report a case of AGEP probably caused by acetaminophen. (Allergy Asthma Respir Dis 2017:5:52-55)
연속적인 위치기반 서비스를 지원하는 분산 그리드 기반 Cloaking 영역 설정 기법 설계

모바일 기기 및 무선 통신 기술의 발달로 인하여 위치 기반 서비스의 이용이 확산되었다. 그러나 이와 같이 사용자의 정확한 위치정보를 가지고 LBS 서버에 서비스를 요청하는 것은 심각한 개인 정보 누출의 위협이 될 수 있다. 따라서 안전하고 편리한 위치기반 서비스 사용을 위한 개인 정보 보호 방법이 요구된다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 연속적인 위치기반 서비스를 지원하는 분산 그리드 기반 Cloaking 영역 설정 기법을 설계한다. 설계하는 기법은 분산 환경에서 연속적인 서비스를 지원하기 위해 Cloaking 영역 설정 시 필요한 정보를 분산 유지하고, 이동 확률 매트릭스 생성 및 확률 계산을 분산적으로 수행한다. 마지막으로는 모바일 사용자 사이에 발생하는 통신비용을 감소시키기 위해, 대표 노드는 해당 클러스터에서 떠난 사용자에 대한 정보를 유지하고 클러스터 내 부분 확률값의 합산시 병합노드를 사용한다.
