        Channel Assignment, Link Scheduling, Routing, and Rate Control for Multi-Channel Wireless Mesh Networks with Directional Antennas

        The wireless mesh network (WMN) has attracted significantinterests as a broadband wireless network to provide ubiquitouswireless access for broadband services. Especially with incorporatingmultiple orthogonal channels and multiple directionalantennas into the WMN, each node can communicate with itsneighbor nodes simultaneously without interference between them. However, as we allow more freedom, we need a more sophisticatedalgorithm to fully utilize it and developing such an algorithm isnot easy in general. In this paper, we study a joint channel assignment,link scheduling, routing, and rate control problem for theWMN with multiple orthogonal channels and multiple directionalantennas. This problem is inherently hard to solve, since the problemis formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear problem (MINLP). However, despite of its inherent difficulty, we develop an algorithmto solve the problem by using the generalized Benders decompositionapproach [2]. The simulation results show the proposed algorithmprovides the optimal solution to maximize the network utility,which is defined as the sum of utilities of all sessions.

      • 차세대 네트워크를 위한 네트워크 부호화 기반의 계층별 프로토콜 분석

        네트워크 부호화 기술은 통신 노드들이 전달해야할 다수의 데이터를 하나의 데이터로 부호화하여 전송하는 기술을일컫는다. 이러한 네트워크 부호화 기술을 활용하면 네트워크상에서의 데이터 전송 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 따라서WiMAX와 LTE-Advanced와 같이 사용자에게 대용량의 무선 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위한 차세대 네트워크의성능을 보다 향상시키기 위하여 네트워크 부호화 기술이 주요 후보 기술로 여겨지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 앞으로 출현할 4G 통신망에서 네트워크 부호화의 활용방안을 알아보고자 무선 네트워크에서 네트워크 부호화를 고려한 기존 연구들을 네트워크 프로토콜의 각 계층별로 정리하여 소개한다.

        Hydration Effects of Water or Sports Beverages on the Peripheral Markers of Blood-Brain Barrier Integrity During Endurance Exercises at High Ambient Temperatures

        This study aimed to investigate the fluid replacement effects of water or sports beverages on the peripheral markers of blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity during endurance exercises at high ambient temperatures. Six healthy males were recruited and completed running trials in the following four conditions: 1) thermoneutral temperature at 18℃ (trial 18), 2) high ambient temperature at 32℃ without fluid replacement (trial 32), 3) high ambient temperature at 32℃ with water replacement (trial 32+W), and 4) high ambient temperature at 32℃ with sports beverage replacement (trial 32+S). Blood samples were collected pre-exercise, post-exercise, and 1-h post-exercise for each condition. In trial 32, hematocrit levels were significantly increased post-exercise than pre-exercise (p < 0.05). In all trials, the S100β levels were significantly increased post-exercise compared to pre-exercise (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the S100β levels were significantly decreased in all trials 1-h post-exercise than post-exercise (p < 0.05), and these levels were significantly higher 1-h post-exercise in trial 32 than in other trials (p < 0.05). In all trials, ammonia levels were significantly higher post-exercise than pre-exercise (p < 0.05). These results suggested that exercises at high ambient temperatures could damage the BBB more than exercises at thermoneutral temperatures. Additionally, water or sports beverage hydration during acute exercises at high ambient temperatures can effectively reduce BBB damage caused by exercise and thermal stress.

        인성관련 동화책을 이용한 이야기나누기-협동적그룹게임 연결프로그램이 유아인성과 자기조절력에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 만5세 유아를 대상으로 인성관련 동화책을 이용한 이야기 나누기-협동적 그룹게임 연결프로그램이 유아인성과 자기조절력에 미치는 효과를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 유아인성과 자기조절력에 대한 선행연구를 토대로 인성관련 동화책을 이용한 이야기나누기-협동적 그룹게임 연결프로그램을 개발하였다. 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 연구대상은 경상북도 K시에 위치한 M어린이집 만5세반 14명(실험집단)과 M어린이집 만5세반 14명(비교집단) 총28명이다. 유아인성을 측정하기 위해 나은숙과 김경희(2014)가 개발한 ⌜3~5세 유아용인성척도⌟검사 도구를 사용했으며, 자기조절력 측정을 위해 Kendall과 Wilcox(1979)가 개발한 측정도구를 유혜정(1998)이 번안하고 이지현(2001)이 수정·보완한 척도를 사용하였다. 본 프로그램은 주2회 총 18회의 실험 처치를 실시하였으며, 유아인성과 자기조절력의 효과 검증을 위해 사전·사후 검사를 실시하였다. 결과의 자료 분석은 SPSS 12 프로그램을 이용하여 공변량(ANCOVA)분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 인성관련 동화책에 관한 이야기나누기-협동적 그룹게임 연결프로그램이 유아인성과 자기조절력 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 나타났으며, 유아인성과 자기조절력에 영향을 미치는 프로그램의 요인들을 중심으로 연구결과가 논의되었다. This study investigated effects of a coupled program of discussion on personality related storybooks with cooperative group games on young children’s personality and self-regulation. The program was designed based on literature and experimental studies on young children’s personality development and self-regulation. In order to verify its effects, the program was applied to twenty eight 5 year old children, fourteen for an experimental group and another fourteen for an comparative group. They participated in eighteen session activities for three months. After the eighteen session program was completed the pre-and post tests were conducted and the results were analyzed. For testing young children’s personality, a personality measurement for young children developed by Na and Kim(2014) was used. For testing young children’s self-regulation, self-regulation measurement was used which was invented by Kendall & Wilcox(1979), translated by Yoo(1998), and applied by Lee(2001) for her study. This study proved that the coupled program of discussions on personality related picture books with cooperative group games had a good effect on young children’s personality development and their self-regulation. Factors and detailed elements of the designed program that influenced young children’s personality and their self-regulation were discussed.

        오르막 걷기 시 폴 사용이 비만 여성의 혈중 COMP 농도, 근 손상 및 피로 지표에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of the this study was to investigate the effects of trekking pole during up-hill walking on serum cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP), muscle damage and fatigue variables in obese females. The subjects for this study were 10 obese females who had more than 30% of body fat. Each of them performed up-hill walking without trekking poles(Control) and with trekking poles(Pole) at 50%HRR during 35 minutes on a treadmill. The treadmill was set 25% up-hill inclination. Serum COMP levels, indices of muscle damage[creatine kinase(CK) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)], and fatigue(lactate) were measured before, immediately after, and 2h after walking. The levels of COMP were significantly increased at immediately after walking compared to those at before, significantly decreased at 2h after walking in Control and Pole(p<.05). And the levels of COMP were significantly lower in Pole compared to Control at immediately after walking(p<.05). The levels of CK and LDH were significantly increased at immediately after walking compared to those at before in Control p<.05) These results suggest that up-hill walking can induce increase of serum COMP levels and muscle damages. It is suggested, however, that up-hill walking with trekking poles could reduce cartilage and muscle damages.

        LTE 시스템에서 그룹 기반 M2M 단말 이동성 관리

        최근 이동통신의 새로운 미래 사업으로 주목받고 있는 M2M 통신의 특성 중 하나는 기존의 통신에 비해 단말의 수가 상대적으로 많다는 점이다. 따라서 다수의 단말로부터 발생하는 제어 신호가 네트워크에 혼잡을 발생시킬 수 있기 때문에 3GPP 표준화단체에서는 이를 해결하고자 여러 단말을 하나의 그룹으로 관리하여 불필요한 시그널링 오버헤드를 줄이는 방법에 대해 표준화를 진행 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동성이 같은 다수의 M2M 단말들을 하나의 그룹으로 관리하는 그룹 기반 이동성 관리 방법에 대해 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 이동성이 같은 다수의 M2M 단말을 Mobility Management Entity (MME)가 동적으로 그룹핑하고, 그룹을 대표할 그룹 헤더를 선출하여 그룹 헤더가 그룹을 대표하여 Tracking Area Update (TAU)를 수행하게 함으로써 M2M 단말이 개별적으로 TAU를 수행할 때 발생하는 시그널링 오버헤드를 줄이는 것이다. 제안하는 방법이 기존의 개별적으로 TAU를 수행했을 때보다 최대 80% 정도의 시그널링 오버헤드 감소효과를 보인다. The one of features of M2M communications, which are recently attracted attention as a future business of mobile communications, is that there is a large number of devices compared with traditional communication services. Hence, the control signal that are generated by the M2M devices may cause a significant congestion in the network and in order to solve this problem, a standardization is progressing for reducing the redundant signaling by managing M2M devices as a group in 3GPP standardization. In this paper, we propose a method of group based mobility management by managing M2M devices that have the same mobility as a group. In the proposed method, M2M devices that have the same mobility are grouped by the Mobility Management Entity (MME) and the MME elects a group header among the M2M devices in the group. Then, the group header performs the Tracking Area Update (TAU) on behalf of the group members to reduce the signaling overhead of mobility management. With the proposed method, we can achieve 80% decrease of the signaling overhead of mobility management compared with the case where each M2M device individually performs its TAU procedure.
