This research explores the intricate relationship between objects and individuals, specifically exploring transformative properties within objects that can engender emotional attachment. While previous studies have acknowledged the potential of transformative qualities such as “wearing away through use” in fostering connections between objects and users, a systematic investigation into the specific characteristics of transformation has been lacking. This study aimed to determine the distinct characteristics of transformation, providing insights into the nuanced ways in which intentional transformations within objects contribute to enduring relationships toward users. The qualitative research design was utilized in this study in order to offer a comprehensive analysis of the key elements in object transformation. As a designer, the researcher offered how such transformation was applied in artifacts to discuss real-world instance of emotional attachment to objects. This enabled a cross-reference analysis of the primary research findings pertaining to the pivotal characteristics of transformation. The results of the study revealed four characteristics of transformation: the slow and subtle transformation, constituting transformation, elevating positive transformation within object, and the active involvement of the user in the transformation process and showed that they foster emotional relationship between objects and individuals. By grasping the nuances of these emotional attachments, designers and creators can not only craft functional objects but also create objects of profound personal significance, enriching the human experience. Designers and creators can use these insights to craft objects that not only serve their functions but also become deeply significant to users and prolong the life of objects. These findings contribute not only to the emotional design but also have broader implications for product design, marketing, and consumer behavior. Understanding how intentional transformations influence emotional bonding with possessions can empower designers to craft objects that transcend mere functionality, becoming profound sources of personal significance and enhancing the overall human experience. This research thus opens avenues for further exploration into emotional design and its potential to reshape the ways we interact with and cherish the objects in our lives.

디자인(design)이란 본래 “사물에 기호(sign)와 그것에 담긴 의미(meaning)를 부여한다(de)”는 뜻으로, 그런 점에서 처음부터 인문학적 활동에 속한다고 할 수 있다. 다만 근대에 들어와서 산업화가 진행됨에 따라 디자인에 부여하는 의미가 기능과 효율이라는 과학적 또는 산업적 의미로 제한됨으로써 디자인이 본래 지니고 있는 인문학적 의미가 희석되었을 뿐이다. 그러나 오늘날은 단순한 기능이나 편리를 넘어서 새로운 가치 창조가 요구되는 시대로 접어들고 있다. 이러한 시대적 요청에 부응하기 위해 제시된 개념이 인문디자인이다. 인문디자인에는 두 가지 종류를 생각할 수 있는데, 하나는 ‘술(述)’이고 다른 하나는 ‘작(作)’이다. 공자는 고대 성인들이 창조한(‘作’) 문물제도를 재해석했다는 점에서 ‘술’의 디자이너라고 할 수 있다. 반면에 세종은 이전에 없던 새로운 문물제도를 창조했다는 점에서 ‘작’의 디자이너라고 할 수 있다. 리버럴 아츠는 인문디자인을 실현하기 위한 고전적인 방법으로, 그것의 핵심은 자유정신의 추구에 있다. 한편 동아시아의 장자나 풍류도 자유정신을 추구한다는 점에서 리버럴 아츠라고 할 수 있는데, 다만 마음공부를 통한 영성 수련도 포함되어 있다는 점에서 ‘영성적 리버럴 아츠’라고 할 수 있다. 19세기말에서 20세기초에 한반도에서 탄생한 개벽종교들은 기존의 세계관과는 다른 새로운 세계관을 디자인했다는 점에서 ‘술’이 아닌 ‘작’의 디자인을 했다고 할 수 있다. 원불교는 ‘일원’으로 상징되는 ‘하나’의 세계관을 디자인했고, 그것의 일환으로 물질개벽으로 상징되는 산업디자인과 정신개벽으로 대변되는 인문디자인의 병행을 지향하였다. 아울러 일원의 세계로 나아가기 위한 구체적인 방법으로 마음공부와 글쓰기, 그리고 말하기와 같은 영성적이면서도 인문학적인 리버럴 아츠 프로그램을 제시하고 있고, 이러한 프로그램은 원불교가 ‘작’의 디자이너를 배양하기 위해 디자인된 종교임을 시사한다. Etymologically, ‘design’ means "to put new "sign" or it`s meaning into something." In that sense, design is a kind of humanities. But as industrialization proceeds in the modern age, the sign or meaning in the design has focused on scientific or industrial aspects. The concept of `liberal arts design` is designed to correct this imbalance. There are two kinds of liberal arts design. One is interpretation, the other creation. For example, Confucius interpreted sage-king`s creation, and so we can say Confucius did interpretative design. King Sejong in the Joseon Dynasty created Korean character Hangeul, and so we can say King Sejong did creative design. Western Liberal arts is a classical method to realize liberal arts design, and its essence lies in the pursuits of liberal mind. In the other hands, Zhuangzi in China and Pungryu(Wind-Stream) in korea can be said to a kind of `spiritual liberal arts` in that they contain spiritual cultivation. Gaebyuk(Great Transformation) religions in the Korea from 19th to 20th also did creative design in that they designed new world different from Confucian or Western world view. Won Buddhism designed `one` world symbolized by circle, and proposed spiritual liberal arts program to realize one world. This means Won Buddhism is a liberal arts based religion which discipline creative designers.
탈중심화로 본 디지털트랜스포메이션 시대의 공공디자인 요소 분석

(Background and Purpose) The purpose of this study is to discuss and analyze from the perspective of decentralization the changes that the digital transformation phenomenon, which appears as an irresistible enormous flow across society, will bring to the public design area. To this end, the concept of publicity dealt with in public design and the process of changing publicity according to the times will be reviewed, and the value of publicity expression in public design at the time of digital transformation and the change of application factors according to the change of perception of receptors. (Method) In the introduction, the background and purpose of the study, and the method and scope of the study are disclosed. In Chapter 2, the genealogical analysis of the concept of publicity in public design and the change in the concept of publicity in public design are dealt with through literature data research, and the analysis of public design through a decentralized approach is considered. Chapter 3 discusses the characteristics of the new normal era represented by the phenomenon of digital transformation, and examines the current new publicity required in the process of digital transformation in public design. Chapter 4 clarifies the criteria and scope for case analysis and derives analysis elements. Using an open public space as a scope for case analysis, design cases implemented digitally are introduced, and each case is classified and analyzed as a derived decentralized element. (Results) From a decentralized perspective, four elements were derived as criteria for public design analysis. The decentralization of the subjectification process is the'decentralization' of the subject, the decentralization through the relationship with others is the'otherness' that recognizes the diversity of class, gender, ethnicity, and culture, and the meaning through connection with other areas The decentralization of the production process is classified as'interactivity', and the phenomenon of being decentralized as a fictional reality in media and cyberspace is classified as'virtuality'. As a result of analyzing 13 cases, it was found that interactivity and virtuality were implemented in almost all cases, but'decomposition', which means individual as a new value subject, and'otherness', which considers various classes, were found to be insufficient. (Conclusions) In order to capture changes such as the personalization of the subject emerging as a new value and the hybridization of boundaries, deconstruction and otherness should be additionally considered. In this study, this could be confirmed through literature review and case analysis. In the era of digital transformation, which has advanced to an inflection point in 2020, it is expected that the decentralized perspective of deconstruction and otherness will function as the main elements that will protect the value of public design.
데이터 기반 디자인을 위한 데이터 큐레이션 프레임웍 연구 - 디자인 리서치 과정을 중심으로

본 연구는 디자인 리서치 과정에 디지털 트랜스포메이션을 적용하여 디자인 프로세스를 개선하고, 데이터 기반의 디자인 의사결정을 촉진하기 위한 데이터 큐레이션 프레임워크를 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 먼저, 데이터 기반 디자인에 대한 선행연구와 디자인 리서치 활동에서의 데이터 활용 현황을 분석하여 문제점을 도출하였고, 디지털 서비스의 디자인 구현과정에서 핵심적인 역할을 하는 디자인 시스템 기반의 디지털 트랜스포메이션 사례를 고찰하였다. 이를 바탕으로 디자인 리서치 데이터의 특성을 반영하면서 디자인 구현과정과 연계 가능한 디자인 리서치 데이터 큐레이션의 개발 방향과 데이터 형식 및 워크플로우를 제안하였다. 제안한 데이터 큐레이션 프레임웍은 디자인 리서치 데이터의 디지털 변환 및 데이터 모델 구축을 가능하게 하여 디자이너의 데이터 기반 의사결정을 지원하고, 데이터의 설명성을 확보하며, 디자인 구현 시스템 데이터와 연계할 수 있다. 또한, 제안된 프레임웍의 구현 방법으로 YAML 형식을 활용한 데이터 표현 형식과 모델링 방법을 사례 연구로 실험하였다. 본 연구의 데이터 큐레이션 프레임웍을 통해 디자인 리서치 과정에서 데이터 활용 가치를 높이고, 디자인 전문 인공지능 서비스 개발 방법 연구에 기여 하고자 한다. This study aims to develop a data curation framework to apply digital transformation in the design research process, enhancing design processes and promoting data-driven decision-making. First, it analyzes data utilization in data-driven design and design research activities, identifying key issues. It also examines digital transformation cases based on design systems essential for digital services. Based on these analyses, the study proposes development directions, data formats, and workflows for design research data curation that reflect design data characteristics and facilitate integration with the design implementation process. The framework supports designers' decision-making by enabling the digital transformation of design research data, constructing data models, ensuring explainability in the data curation process, and linking with design system data. Additionally, it explores YAML-based data formats and utilization methods, presenting practical implementation and verification through experimental cases. This research aims to enhance data utilization efficiency in design research and provide foundational concepts for AI design service development in design research.

The Hallyu wave based on K-pop and K-culture has increased the global interest in Korean culture. Therefore, to satisfy consumer demand, there is an attempt to develop a variable fashion design using traditional Korean culture. Transformable fashion design causes changes in form and meaning according to various situations and needs and can induce active participation of consumers. Therefore, we intend to propose a transformable fashion design that is based on traditional Korean culture but appears in a new form and meets the needs of consumers of fashion design. Among Korean traditional culture, wrapping cloths, bojagi are practically used by ordinary people until now, and their shape and use change according to the user's needs. This study intends to derive expression characteristics by examining the expression tendencies of bojagi and to develop transformable fashion designs through the derived data. The purpose of this study is to make and propose transformable fashion designs in real life using the expression characteristics of Korean bojagi. As the method of this study, we first conducted a literature review. Through this, a case study of empirical production was conducted in parallel with the development and production of transformable fashion designs using bojagi. A total of three illustrations and six variable fashion designs were developed. Two of the six works are transformable fashion design that change through movement and expansion of the square shape, the prototype of the bojagi, and two works are modular, bringing changes in function through combination and separation. The work was produced as a multi-purpose transformable fashion design that can be used as clothes or a bag.
지속가능성을 모티브로 한 지속적 트랜스포머디자인에 대한 연구 - 변신을 주제로 한 디자인 활용사례를 중심으로 -

In modern-day society, it is not possible to improve satisfaction of the public only with one utility due to the diversified needs of the public. For this reason, this study aims to propose the survival future of design by denominating transformer design based on a motif of transformer robots as “ST Design (Sustainable Transformer Design)”. As a result of analyzing the concept using the hypothesis with the case, the ST design can be arranged in four ways: manual way and automatic way, idea way, Eco-friendly way. This includes not only changes in appearance design but also performance improvements. Moreover, at the stage of design, the product is designed in consideration of recycling and easy repair, giving meaning of environment-friendly life extension. The importance of design becomes bigger when economic recession prolongs and the needs of design wishing new demands become stronger. With this in mind, Sustainable Transformer Design (ST Design) model was studied by making in-depth approach to concept of transformation and environment-friendly sustainability and analyzing the current state. The fusion of transforming mechanism of ST Design and environment-friendly mechanism can contribute to restricting vicious cycle of overproduction and overconsumption caused by marketing strategy, regardless of intention of consumers. This can serve to be an alternative to proposal of survival future of design, by extending life of design, developing in an easy way and protecting rights of consumers.

I n recent years, with the rapid development of the Internet, digital multimedia magazines have gradually become the focus of people's attention. Digital multimedia magazine, using multimedia technology, integrates video, audio, gif, Flash animation, Html5 page and 3D special effects in one, everywhere reflects its excellent interactive characteristics and multimedia characteristics, showing an amazing development trend. Taking Design 360° Magazine as an example, this paper makes a preliminary discussion on the concept, development process and development strategy of multimedia digital magazine, mainly using design aesthetics, communication science, interactive experience and other related theories, to put forward some suggestions for the digital transformation of the magazine. From the perspective of the characteristics of digital magazines, their comparison with paper magazines, and the change of people's reading habits, the traditional paper media is now facing the dilemma of urgent need of transformation. From the perspective of Design 360° Magazine, the preliminary transformation strategy, digital communication path and visual design ideas are proposed according to the characteristics of the magazine itself. It is expected that through the study of this paper, the communication effect of the magazine can be effectively improved.
중고 데님 의류의 구조 변형을 통한 업사이클링 디자인 개발 –Liu Qing의 구조 변형법 적용을 중심으로-

This study explores application of upcycling design methods in structural transformation of second-hand denim clothing, aiming to achieve sustainable design objectives. By drawing inspiration from Liu Qing's research methods in the field of circular utilization of denim clothing, this study collected and analyzed cases of structural transformation of used denim clothing from 2020 to 2023. It summarized structural transformation design methods for used denim clothing. Through the development of design works, this study aims to find out the best upgrading and renovation design strategy by applying the method of structural renovation design. This study aims to support the development of a sustainable fashion industry and promote recycling and upcycling of discarded clothing fabrics, thereby reducing resource waste and environmental impact.
Digital Transformation Strategy Design for National Public Service

From the mid-to-late 2010s, technology was frequently mentioned in the definition of digital transformation. In the early stages, the private sector started actively using it, and the public sector started to take it seriously. Divided into “providing value and cultural change, the main goals of digital transformation were accomplished, and the ideas of creating new values in social and industrial systems and applying digital technology appeared to be related. Digital transformation, defined as the idea of combining digital solutions to boost competitiveness and add value, necessitates social innovation and cultural shifts at the national level. In order to encourage the digital transformation of the industry, the Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Act was passed in December 2021. This set the groundwork for a comprehensive and organized approach to facilitating the use of industrial information. We will examine the nature and extent of digital transformation in this study, as well as discover the organizations and regulations that support it. We also want to examine the essential standards and technologies needed to put the digital transformation plan into practice. Lastly, We’ll make some conclusions about how this will affect public services’ digital transformation.
디지털 트랜스포메이션 경영을 위한 챗GPT 사용자 경험(UX) 디자인 평가 -오픈AI 챗GPT와 마이크로소프트 빙 챗GPT 교차활용을 중심으로-

The advent of OpenAI’s ChatGPT has brought about significant changes throughout various aspects of society, leading a new innovation in the application of artificial intelligence by generating desired information through interactive conversation, moving away from the traditional approach of information retrieval. Companies are attempting to transform their work processes to artificial intelligence by integrating ChatGPT into their current operations. As the goal of digital transformation is automation and intelligence, ChatGPT is a crucial tool for successful digital transformation. Additionally, companies recognize ChatGPT from a corporate management perspective in order to innovate their working culture utilizing ChatGPT. The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate User Experience elements of artificial intelligence through conversational ChatGPT technology and to provide guidelines and factors for improving and refining ChatGPT UX design as the use of this technology spreads rapidly throughout various industries. 16 of the evaluation factors of prior papers that studied user experience design in the fields of mobile apps, VR, video conferencing, payment, kiosks, chatbots, and artificial intelligence were classified. Through expert survey interviews with 15 AI service developers from Microsoft, Google, Big Tech and startups, the factors to consider first in designing the ChatGPT user experience were usefulness, reliability, performance, fairness, social responsibility and usability. Using the selected six factors, evaluated the user experience design of OpenAI’s ChatGPT which is currently providing a stable service and examined the cross-utilization behavior of Microsoft Bing’s ChatGPT. In the evaluation of ChatGPT user experience design, there were generational differences in the order of people in their 50s, 20s to 30s, and 40s and confirmed that operational tasks had the highest usage among the types of work. Additionally, it was found that the type of work also influenced the cross-utilization behavior. In this study, by identifying the components of ChatGPT user experience design it have provided guidelines for future ChatGPT user experience design. 오픈AI 챗GPT 등장은 사회 전반에 큰 변화를 미치고 있으며 전통적인 정보검색 방식에서 챗GPT는 찾고자 하는 정보를 대화형으로 생성하는 방식으로 인공지능 활용에 새로운 혁신을 이끌고 있다. 기업은 현행 업무 프로세스에 챗GPT를 융합하여 업무 기반을인공지능으로 전환을 시도하고 있다. 디지털 트랜스포메이션이 지향하는 목표가 자동화와 지능화임에 따라챗GPT는 성공적인 디지털 트랜스포메이션을 위한 핵심적인 도구이다. 또한, 기업은 챗GPT를 활용한 일하는 문화를 혁신하기 위해 전사 경영관점에서 챗GPT 를 인식하고 있다. 본 연구는 대화형 챗GPT 기술이산업 전반에 폭발적으로 확산됨에 따라 챗GPT 사용자 경험 디자인 요소를 도출 및 평가를 통해 효과적인 챗GPT 사용자 경험을 개선하고 고도화를 위한 요소와 디자인 가이드를 제시하고자 한다. 모바일 앱, VR, 화상회의, 결제, 키오스크, 챗봇, 인공지능 분야의사용자 경험 디자인을 연구한 선행논문 평가 요소 중16개를 분류하였다. 마이크로소프트, 구글, 빅테크, 스타트업의 AI 서비스 개발자 15명과 전문가 설문 인터뷰를 통해 챗GPT 사용자 경험 디자인에 우선적으로고려할 요소는 유용성, 신뢰성, 성능, 공정성, 사회적책임, 사용성 순이었다. 선정된 6가지 요소를 활용하여 현재 안정적으로 서비스를 제공하는 오픈AI의 챗GPT 사용자 경험 디자인을 평가하고 마이크로소프트빙(Bing) 챗GPT 교차활용 행태를 살펴보았다. 챗GPT 사용자 경험 디자인 평가에서 50대, 20~30대, 40대순서로 세대 간 차이가 있었고 업무 유형에서 운영업무가 가장 높았음을 확인하였다. 또한, 업무 유형이교차활용 행태에도 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있었다. 본연구에서는 챗GPT 사용자 경험 디자인 구성요소를파악함으로 향후 챗GPT 사용자 경험 디자인 가이드라인을 제시하였다.
