성인 필자의 쓰기 특징 분석

본 연구의 목적은 성인 필자의 쓰기 특징을 살펴보는 데 있다. 요즘의 쓰기 교육은 그 대상을 학령기 학생 뿐 아니라 대학 글쓰기, 더 나아가 성인에도 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 성인 쓰기교육의 내용을 더욱더 적확하고 효율적으로 적용하기 위해 성인 필자가 지닌 쓰기 특징을 살피고 파악하는 것은 일차적으로 선행되어야 할 일이었다. 이에 성인 필자의 특징을 ‘쓰기 소통 방식, 쓰기 어려움, 쓰기 태도’의 범주로 나누어 살펴보았다. 그 결과 직무 글쓰기 필자와 자기표현 글쓰기 필자의 소통 방식 차이를 살폈고 필자들이 느끼는 인지적, 정의적 어려움을 파악하였다. 또한 잘 쓰고 싶어 하는 태도 수준과 자주 쓰고 싶어 하는 태도 수준을 살필 수 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 각 필자에 대한 세분화된 교육 내용 및 방법의 적용점을 제안하였고, 소통을 꺼리는 필자에 대한 질적 연구와 쓰기 태도 관련 정의적 요인에 대한 보다 깊이 있는 연구가 이어질 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. This study aimed to explore writing characteristics of adult writer. Recent writing education focus on many subjets from school age to adult writing. Before discussing expansion of writing education age to adult, the author should search characteristics of adult writers to adapt adult writing education more precisely and efficiently. So, the author divied characteristics of adult writers to these categories : writing communication methods, writing difficulties, writing attitudes. The author examined differences of communication methods between occupational writers, self-expressional writers and figure out cognitive and affective difficulties of writers. In addtion, the author probe attitudes to be a good writer and positive attitude levels willing to write frequently. The author proposes specialized education contents and application points based on this study, and also suggested futher study about qualitative research of writers avoiding communication and affective factors of writing attitudes.

성인 필자의 글쓰기 공동체 연구 - ‘글방’을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of adults’ writing culture and writing through a qualitative analysis of “Geulbang,” a small writing community. Geulbang is a small, non-institutional, and autonomous writing community led by individuals and characterized as a writing group where writing and consensus are shared. This study examined the characteristics of “Eodin Geulbang” and the Geulbangs run by writers produced by Eodin Geulbang through data from literature, articles, and SNS; it examines the characteristics and advantages of a writing community, and the perceptions of adult writing through interviews with the experts who run Geulbang and the participants in Geulbang. Eodin Geulbang is a small writing group run by writer Kim, Hyun-ah, nicknamed “Eodin.” Unlike writing classes in schools or libraries where the curriculum is fixed, Eodin Geulbang is a horizontal writing community where people write freely and exchange criticism. Eodin Geulbang has produced young writers such as Lee, Seul-ah, Lee, Gil-bora, Yang, Da-sol and Ha, Mina who are playing great roles in bringing Geulbang culture into vogue running their group after becoming writers. In addition, it was found that trends in Geulbang culture include the diversification of writing media, a flexible publishing culture that may involve one-person publishers and electronic publications, and serialization methods such as a mailing subscription service. This study investigated the participation experience of the writing community, its operating experience, and the perception of adult writing through interviews with experts such as Kim, Hyun-ah, Yang, Da-sol, and Ha, Mina who run Geulbang. In doing so, the characteristics and goals of running the group, the influence of the media environment on it, and the difficulties in adults’ writing were studied. In addition, the participation experiences of the writing community and perceptions of writing were investigated for four Geulbang members, and through this, the path to participation, the characteristics and advantages of the existing Geulbang, and the difficulties and necessity of writing were investigated. The recent revitalization of the adults’ Geulbang culture has far-reaching implications for the study of adults’ writing education in that it satisfies the needs of adult learners with various characteristics. 본 연구는 소규모 글쓰기 공동체인 ‘글방’에 대한 질적 연구를 통해 성인 글쓰기 문화 및 글쓰기에 대한 인식을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 글방은 개인이 주도하여 자치적으로 운영하는 비제도권의 소규모 글쓰기 공동체로서 글쓰기와 합평을 함께하는 글쓰기 모임이라는 특징을 지닌다. 본 연구에서는 문헌 자료와 기사, SNS 등을 통해 ‘어딘글방’과 어딘글방 출신의 작가가 운영하는 글방들의 특징을 살펴보고, 글방을 운영하는 글방 운영자 및 참여자의 인터뷰를 통해 소규모 글쓰기 공동체의 특징과 장점, 성인 글쓰기에 대한 인식을 살펴 보았다. 어딘글방은 ‘어딘’이라는 별명의 김현아 작가가 운영하는 소규모 글쓰기 모임으로 커리큘럼이 정해져 있는 학교, 도서관 등의 글쓰기 수업과는 달리 자유롭게 글을 써오고 서로 합평을 주고받는 수평적인 글쓰기 공동체이다. 어딘글방은 이슬아, 이길보라, 양다솔, 하미나 등의 젊은 작가들을 배출했는데, 이들은 작가가 된 후 자신들의 글방을 운영하며 글방 문화를 유행시키는 데 큰 역할을 하고 있다. 또한, 이러한 글방 문화의 유행에는 글쓰기 매체의 다양화, 1인 출판사, 전자 출판 등 유연해진 출판 문화, 그리고 메일링 구독 서비스와 같은 연재 방식 등이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 글방을 운영하고 있는 김현아, 양다솔, 하미나 작가 등의 글방 운영자 인터뷰를 통해 글쓰기 공동체의 참여 경험, 글쓰기 공동체의 운영 경험, 성인 글쓰기에 대한 인식을 조사하였으며, 이를 통해 전문가들이 생각하는 글방 운영의 특징과 목표, 매체 환경이 글방 운영에 끼친 영향, 성인 글쓰기의 어려움을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 또한 글방 참여자 4명을 대상으로 글쓰기 공동체의 참여 경험, 글쓰기에 대한 인식을 조사하였는데, 이를 통해 글방 참여 경로, 기존 글방의 특징 및 장점, 글쓰기에 대한 어려움 및 필요성에 대한 인식을 고찰하였다. 최근 성인 글방 문화의 활성화는 다양한 특성을 지닌 성인 학습자의 요구를 만족시키고 있다는 점에서 성인 작문 교육 연구에 시사하는 바가 크다고 할 수 있다.

작문 교육의 목표와 실행에 관한  성인 학습자의 인식 연구

Life-long education institutes provide writing education programs for adults. However, these programs have a shortage of analysis of adult learners’ needs and awareness of writing education. The purpose of this research is to help establishing proper writing curricula by analyzing various adult learners’ needs for writing education. In this study, the researcher analyzed texts that adult learners, as graduate school students, composed, to identify the type of writing curriculum they seek. The results showed that participants had specific needs about the purposes and implementation of writing education. Participants felt that there writing is important in their personal and career lives and, at the same time, felt an unwillingness to write. They also said there are problems in writing education because of its discontinuity and administrators’ opinions on writing programs. Participants’ desire for writing education was related to authenticity, accessibility, connecting other areas with writing, and career needs. These imply that an investigation of the contexts of adults’ writing will be important in the future. 성인들을 대상으로 한 작문 교육 프로그램들은 공교육과정의 주된 범위가 아닌 까닭에 대체로 평생교육 기관을 중심으로 제공된다. 그런데 성인 학습자 들이 어떤 작문교육을 필요로 하는지, 작문교육을 둘러싸고 어떤 인식을 하고 있는지에 대한 연구 성과는 충분하지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제의 식에 따라 다양한 직업과 연령의 성인 학습자들이 작문 교육에 대해 어떤 인식 과 요구를 갖고 있는지 분석함으로써 추후 바람직한 작문 교육과정 수립에 이 바지하고자 하였다. 연구에서는 방송통신대학교 대학원에 재학 중인 성인들에게 ‘성인 학습자를 대상으로 한 바람직한 작문 교육 프로그램’을 설계하도록 하고, 프로그램 제안 서에 작문 교육에 대한 인식과 요구를 표현하도록 하였다. 그리고 참여자들이 기술한 내용을 토대로 작문 교육에 대한 성인 학습자들의 인식과 요구에 대한 내용을 질적으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 참여자들은 작문 교육의 목표와 실행 차 원의 인식을 드러내었는데, 세부적으로는 작문 교육 실행의 방해 요인, 바람직 한 작문 교육의 요건에 관한 내용이 제시되었다. 참여자들은 작문이 일상과 대 인관계, 직업생활 전반에 걸쳐 필요하다고 느끼지만 대체로 작문이 어렵고 꺼 려지는 것이라고 인식하였다. 또한 작문 교육이 생애에서 불연속적으로 이루 어진다는 점, 관리자의 의지에 따라 교육 실행이 영향을 받는 점을 교육 실행의 어려움으로 들고, 실제적 교육, 성인 학습자들이 접근하기 용이한 교육, 작문 외의 영역과 연계한 교육, 직업적 필요를 충족하는 교육이 이루어져야 할 것으 로 보았다. 연구를 통해 성인들이 처한 작문 맥락을 지속적으로 분석하여 이들 에게 적절한 작문 교육과정을 제공하려는 노력이 중요함을 알 수 있다.

성인 필자의 고쳐쓰기 과정에서 드러나는 특징 및 문제 분석

본고는 성인 필자가 글을 고칠 때 보이는 특징을 탐색하고 고쳐쓰기 과정에서 경험하는 문제들을 분석하였다. 참여자들은 국어교육을 전공하는 교육대학원생으로 연구에서는 이들이 설득적 쓰기를 할 것이 제시되었다. 그리고 컴퓨터 쓰기가 이루어지는 동안 화면의 움직임을 녹화한 자료, 참여자들이 생산한 텍스트 자료, 사후 인터뷰 자료가 분석되었다. 연구의 결과, 충실하게 쓰기를 수행한 성인 필자라 하더라도 대부분의 고쳐쓰기가 미시적 수준에 한정된 것으로 드러났다. 또한 내용 지식의 부족이 고쳐쓰기 패턴에 영향을 줄 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 연구자의 기대와 달리, 반복적이고 회귀적인 고치기라든지, 텍스트의 구조를 깊이 고려하는 것이 오히려 양질의 고쳐쓰기를 방해하는 요소로 작용하기도 하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 쓰기 연구자 및 교수자들은 학생들이 필요한 내용지식을 충분히 얻고 고쳐쓰기의 양보다 질에 관심을 기울일 수 있도록하며 저학년에서부터 고쳐쓰기 경험을 충분히 쌓을 수 있도록 도와야 함을 알 수 있다. This study investigated the trait of adult writers’ revision and analyzed problems writers experience in revision. The writers participated were graduate school students who majored Korean language education. Persuasive texts they wrote, video files recoding their writing process on computer screen and follow-up interview data were analyzed. Researcher found out that participants’ most of revisions were local revision even though all they were faithful adult writers and made lots of changes. And it turned out that writers’ content knowledge can affect to revision pattern. Furthermore, against writing researchers’ expectations, recurrent and recursive changes and too much considerations about text’s structure could obstruct global revision. From these results, writing researchers and educators can see that teaching revision contains helping students to get content knowledge and that teaching revision from childhood is important.
