A driving method of pixel circuit using amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (a-IGZO) thin-film transistor (TFT) is proposed to improve the image quality of active matrix light-emitting diode displays. The proposed pixel circuit employs a diode-connected structure to compensate for variation in threshold voltage (V-th) of the a-IGZO TFT. In addition, the proposed driving method adopts negative bias annealing to suppress the V-th shift. The annealing time is optimized based on the experimental observation of the minimum V-th shift. After a stress time of 30 000 s, the measurement results showthat the (Vth) shift is reducedby 29.6%, using an optimized annealing time of 5% of one frame time. In addition, the maximum deviation in the emission current using the proposed driving method wasmeasured to be less than 4.32% after a stress time of 30 000 s.

Fingerprinting analysis of fresh ginseng according to root age was performed using $^1H-NMR$ spectroscopy and multivariate analysis techniques. Various peaks were detected in the aliphatic (0-3 ppm), sugar (3-6 ppm), and aromatic (6-9 ppm) regions of the $^1H-NMR$ spectra of the water extracts of fresh ginseng root. The use of principal components (PCs) analysis (PCA) for metabolomic profiling allowed the large $^1H-NMR$ data set obtained for various metabolites to be reduced to PC1, PC2, and PC3. Two dimensional score plots showed clear separations with these three components at different roots ages, and explained 89.6% of the total variance. Canonical discriminant analysis identified the ginseng roots at various ages from the NMR results with over 89.9% discrimination accuracy. These results indicate that the combination of $^1H-NMR$ and PCA provides a very promising tool for the authentication and quality control of fresh ginseng roots at different ages.

In this paper,we present a high performance V-band quadruple sub-harmonic mixer monolithic circuit which is designed andfabricated for the millimeter wave down converter applications. While the typical sub-harmonic mixer use a half of fundamentalfrequency,we adopt a quarter of the fundamental frequency. The proposed circuit is based on typical sub-harmonic mixer with anti-parallel diode pair (APDP). Upon the typical mixer design, additional stubs are placed with the modication of original stub length. The stubs,0.1l m pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistors (PHEMTs) and other components are appropriately positionedto each port for maximizing quarter frequencies. Maximum conversion gain of 0.8 dB at a LO frequency of 14.5 GHz and at a RFfrequency of 60.4 GHz is measured. Both LO-to-RF and LO-to-IF isolations are higher than 40 dB. The achieved result of con-version gain and isolation characteristic is one of the best performances reported among the quadruple sub-harmonic mixeroperating in the V-band millimeter wave frequency.

Background: Delta neutrophil index (DNI) is the fraction of immature granulocytes provided by a complete blood count analyzer. Previous studies demonstrated that DNI is a novel marker to predict outcomes in sepsis patients. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate DNI as a predictor of disease severity in patients with acute pyelonephritis (APN). Methods: Patients diagnosed with APN at Severance Hospital from December 2009 to July 2012 were retrospectively investigated. DNI levels were measured at the time of admission. The patients were classified into two groups according to the median value of DNI at baseline. Severe APN was diagnosed with one or more of these conditions including bacteremia, acute kidney injury, hypotension requiring use of vasopressors and admission of intensive care unit. Independent risk factors for severe APN were determined by multiple logistic regression analysis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted for DNI, white blood cell (WBC) count and C-reactive protein (CRP). Results: A total of 258 patients were included in this study. The median age was 61.0 (19.0-87.0), 237 patients (91.9%) were female, and the median DNI level was 2.5%. Severe APN was significantly more prevalent in high DNI group. Multivariate analysis showed that DNI, WBC count and CRP level independently predicted severe APN. DNIwas a better predictive marker of severe APN than WBC count, as reflectd by area under the ROC curve analysis (0.697 [95% CI, 0.637-0.753] vs. 0.562 [95% CI, 0.499-0.624], p=0.0013). DNI was not inferior to CRP levels to predict severe APN (0.697 [95% CI, 0.637-0.753] vs. 0.633 [95% CI, 0.571-0.692], p=0.1185). Conclusions: DNI level at admission is a valuable predictor of disease severity in patients with APN.

The effects of acupuncture treatment and taping therapy on a 22-year-old man who suffered from left foot pain due to Lisfranc joint injury were examined. Fractures of the first, second, and third metatarsal bones and a cuneiform bone were treated with acupuncture and taping therapy from March 24, 2017 to May 4, 2017. The patient was evaluated using the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society's Ankle-Hindfoot Scale. His Ankle-Hindfoot Score increased from 27 points pre-treatment to 65 points post-treatment. There were no side effects. While the improvement observed in this patient is encouraging, no definitive conclusion on the effects of acupuncture treatment and taping therapy on Lisfranc joint injuries can be reached without further large-scale study.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to observe the pain relief effect of moxibustion therapy in a patient with complex regional pain syndrome(CRPS). Methods: A male with typeⅠ CRPS, 48-year-old, who suffered from severe pain and paresthesia on his legs despite of treatments of oral medications and spinal cord stimulation was treated by indirect moxibustion following Korean medicine diagnosis. Total 20 moxibustion treatments(once daily, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks) were given on the 4 acupoints(both side) where known to be effective for the CRPS. Visual analogue scale(VAS), digital infrared thermal imaging(DITI), Beck depression index(BDI) were evaluated before and after the treatments. Pain relief, thermal changes on affected legs, and improvement of depression scale were observed after the treatments. Results: As for DITI, right thigh showed low temperature compared with left one before the treatments. While after the treatments, DITI showed similar temperature in both legs at discharge day. Conclusions: Though it is a case report, moxibustion therapy might have pain relief effect. Further rigorous case series and controlled trials are warranted.
