Background: To optimize the photon transmission efficiency of light guides used in scintillation detectors, LightTools code, which can construct and track light, was used to analyze photon transmission effectiveness with respect to light guides thickness. Materials and Methods: This analysis was carried out using the commercial light guide, N-BK 7 Optical Glass by SCHOTT, as a model for this study. The luminous exitance characteristic of the LYSO scintillator was used to analyze the photon transmission effectiveness according to the thickness of the light guide. Results and Discussion: The results of the simulations showed the effectiveness of the photon transmission according to the thickness of the light guide, which was found to be distributed from 13.38% to 33.57%. In addition, the photon transmission efficiency was found to be the highest for light guides of 4 mm of thickness and a receiving angle of $49^{\circ}$. Conclusion: Through such simulations, it is confirmed that photon transmission efficiency depends on light guide thickness and subsequent changes in the internal angle of reflection. The aim is to produce an actual light guide based on these results and to evaluate its performance.

This research is to study the core factors for knowledge information database service and very important database service quality factors to improve customer satisfaction. The database service quality has been critical issue rather than just information service in these days, because the qualitative aspect is becoming more important factors rather than quantitative aspect. As database service quality has been influenced by satisfaction of database user, it needs to try to get excellent results by enhancing ability to obtain information. In order to satisfy this condition, it needs to measure database service quality more accurately first. In this study, we apply conjoint analysis to measure how much to give quality condition to achieve customer satisfaction.

Transgenic potatoes expressing glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPD), isolated from the oyster mushroom, Pleurotus sajor-caju, had increased tolerance to salt stress (Jeong et al. 2001). To examine the physiological mechanisms enhancing salt tolerance in GPD transgenic rice plants, the salt tolerance of five GPD transgenic rice lines (T1–T5) derived from Dongjin rice cultivar was tested in a fixed 150-mM saline environment in comparison to two known wild-type rice cultivars, Dongjin (salt sensitive) and Pokali (salt tolerant). Transgenic lines T2, T3, and T5 showed a substantial increase in biomass and relative water content compared to Dongjin. Stomatal conductance and osmotic potential were higher in the GPD transgenic lines and were similar to those in Pokali. The results are discussed based on the comparative physiological response of GPD transgenic lines with those of the salt-sensitive and salt-tolerant rice cultivars.
A Study on Game Character Design Based on Mythical Motif - Focused on League of Legends

The game industry has settled a culture as the number of users around the world increases every year. Most game characters are represented in the game as different appearances and stories. There are characters generated from past stories such as myths, legends, and folk tales. These mythical characters appear in various shapes and contents. Especially, in the case of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena(MOBA) genre, the ability and appearance of characters are most important, because users play different characters in the same space. Therefore, the unique background story of mythical characters in games can be an interesting resource when designing characters in MOBA and is already widely used. Among MOBA genres, the League of Legends(LOL) is a popular game with a lot of popularity and users. In this study, we categorize identity, creativity, and diversity in character component, and human, half-human, half-animal, and animal as composition type in the LOL. Also, we compared characters’ component and composition type of the LOL based on myth. Based on this analysis, we designed four characters. Based on the results of this study, we hope that it will be helpful in the future production of game characters in the MOBA genre.

<P>The epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a pivotal role in the conversion of early‐stage tumors into invasive malignancies. The transcription factor Snail, an extremely unstable protein whose subcellular levels are regulated by many E3 ubiquitin ligases, promotes EMT as well as associated pathological characteristics including migration, invasion, and metastasis. Through yeast two‐hybrid screening, we identified the carboxyl terminus of Hsc70‐interacting protein (CHIP) as a novel Snail ubiquitin ligase that interacts with Snail to induce ubiquitin‐mediated proteasomal degradation. Inhibition of CHIP expression increases Snail protein levels, induces EMT, and enhances <I>in vitro</I> migration and invasion as well as <I>in vivo</I> metastasis of ovarian cancer cells. In turn, Snail depletion abrogates all phenomena induced by CHIP depletion. Finally, Snail and CHIP expression is inversely correlated in ovarian tumor tissues. These findings establish the CHIP–Snail axis as a post‐translational mechanism of EMT and cancer metastasis regulation.</P>
