      • Uncoupler를 투여한 흰쥐의 뇌와 간조직의 Superoxide Dismutase에 관한 연구

        The activities of superoxide dismutases, and the variation of superoxide radicals and hydrogen peroxide contents in the brain and liver tissues, and some of the classic signs of rats administered with either 2, 4-dinitrophenol or arsenate has been investigated. Superoxide dismutase activities were determined either by the method of McCord and Fridovich(1969) or by the method of Crapo et al, (1978). The contents of hydrogen peroxide was determined according to the method of Thruman et al, (1972). The experimental results were summarized as follows; 1. Body weights of animals administered with 2, 4-dinitrophenol and/or arsenate were decreased, but the rectal temperatures of animals treated rose above the normal when compared with those of control group. 2. Formation of superoxide radicals in the tissues of brain and liver of 2, 4-dinitrophenol treated animals was increased to each 1.5 and 1.3 times those of the control group. However, formation of superoxide radicals in the tissues of animals administered with arsenate was not changed in the brain tissues, but significantly decreased in the liver tissues. 3. The contents of hydrogen peroxide was slightly increased in both brain and liver tissues of animals administered with 2, 4-dinitrophenol, but no changes occured in those tissues of animals administered with arsenate. 4. The specific activity of total superoxide dismutase in the brain tissues of animals administered with 2,4-dinitrophenol was enhanced up to 1.7 times that of the control group, but when treated with arsenate, the specific activity was closed to that of the control group. 5. The specific activities of total superoxide dismutase in the liver tissues of animals treated with 2,4-dinitrophenol and/or arsenate were 4.68 and 3.77, respectively. 6. The activities of Mn-superoxide dismutase in the brain and liver tissues of animals treated with 2,4-dinitrophenol was increased to 2.2 and 2.0 times as higher as that of the control group, but no significant change in the activity of Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase was observed, whereas in the case of arsenate treated animals, no changes in the specific activities of Cu,Zn- and Mn-superoxide dismutase was observed. These results indicated that an uncoupler 2,4-dinitrophenol which may act on all the sites of oxidative phosphorylation caused to increase the superoxide radicals in the cells, and this might occur at State 4. A parallel increment of the formation of superoxide radicals and Mn-superoxide dismutase activities would suggest that the enzyme, especially Mn-superoxide dismutase, must be an important factor to protect the mitochondria from the toxicity by superoxide radicals.

In this paper, we propose the condition of the WDM optical coupler that can divide two wavelengths to n's Wavelengths.

      • Ehrlich 복수암 세포의 지질대사에 관한 연구

        We have studied on lipids of Ehrlich ascites tumor cells (EATC). Lipids were extracted by Kennedy and Kanfer(1964) method and lipoproteins were separated by paper electrophoresis. For the identification and assay of lipid extracts, thin-layer chromatography was employed. The incorporation of ^32P-orthophosphate into phospholipids of EATC was also observed. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The total lipid content of EATC was 47.15 ㎎ per g wet weight; of this 32.2㎎ per g was neutral lipid and 14.95 ㎎ per g was phospholipid. 2. The amounts of neutral lipid fractions of EATC, i.e., free cholesterol, esterified cholesterol, mono-, di-, triglyceride and free fatty acid were 2.06㎎, 1.75㎎, 4.71㎎, 7.15㎎, 10.74㎎ and 2.21㎎, respectively. The amount of triglyceride of EATC was similar to those of normal mouse liver. 3. Phospholipid composition of EATC was phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine and unidentified phospholipid, and contents of the individual phospholipids showed that the over-all composition were very similar to normal mouse liver. 4. Lipoprotein fractions of EATC were chylomicron, β-lipoprotein, α-lipoprotein, and prealbumin. Chylomicron fraction contained a larger amount of lipid and α-lipoprotein fraction contained a smaller amount of lipid. 5. The incorporation of ^32P into phospholipids reached a maximum 5 minutes after incubation.

        Langerhans cell histiocytosis

        Langerhans cell histiocytosis(LCH) appears to arise from Langerhans cell and comprises a spectrum of clinical disease previously described in the literature by a variety of eponyms including histiocytosis X, eosinophilic granuloma, Hand-Christian disease, and Letterer Siwe syndrome. This rare disorder occurs in all groups, predominently affecting children & young adults. LCH has a wide spectrum of clinical features. The differentiation of several forms of this disease is primarily a clinical and not a histologic one. The radiographic characteristics include the appearance of solitary "intraosseous" lesios, the multipicity of "alveolar bone" lesions, the bone lesions, periosteal new bone formation, and slight root resorption. Prognosis of a single bone lesion, is known to be excellent. In contrast, disseminated disease has seen associated with a chronic course, a high rate of morbidity and late consequences, and possible mortality. Treatment of LCH remains problematic. Treatment of multisystem disease, where organ function is being compromised has generally been with high-dose systemic corticosteroids or multiple chemotherapy.

        투명전도성 ITO(Indium tin oxide)박막을 Ar분위기에서 RF sputtering 방법으로 glass기판위에 제조하였다. target 조성은 In₂O₃ 88mole% + SnO₂12mole%이며, 적층 파라미터는 기판온도, Ar 부분압력, RF 출력을 변화시켜 적층시켰다. 기판온도, RF출력이 높을수록, Ar 부분압이 낮을수록 낮은 면저항과 가시영역에서 광투과도가 증가되었다. 낮은 기판온도에서 제조한 박막을 열처리 하므로써 전기적 광학적 특성이 향상되었다.

      • 돼지회충의 근육조직에서 NAD-linked α-Glycerophosphate 탈수소 효소에 관한 연구

        The distribution and some properties of α-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase of Ascaris suum muscle has been studied. The activity of cytosolic NAD-linked α-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase (NAD 2-oxidoreductase, EC 1.1.1.8) was measured by the method of Gonzalez-Cerozo and Dalziel and the activity of FAD-linked α-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase (Cytochrome oxidoreductase, EC 1.1.99.5) was estimated according to the method of Swierczynski. The activity of NAD-linked dehydrogenase in homogenate was found to be 323 units per g wet tissue and was recovered about 61% in cytosolic fraction (specific activity: ca. 2.02). The activity of the FAD-linked dehydrogenase in homogenate was found to be 38.9 units per g and was recovered about 26% in mitochondria (specific activity; ca. 0.96). Thus, the specific activity of NAD-linked enzyme in cytosol was found to be about 2.1 fold greater than that of FAD-linked enzyme in mitochondria. The optimal pH for cytosolic NAD-linked enzyme was about 9.0 and the optimal temperature was 55℃. The Km values for sn-glycerol 3-phosphate and NAD' were 4.5mM and 0.63mM, respectively. The present studies revealed that cytosolic NAD-linked α-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase has only one molecular form.

        비후성심근증의 임상적 관찰

        N/A The clinical and laboratory features of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were studied in 30 cases. They consisted of 21 males and 9 females, and the age ranged from 21 to 74 years with an average of 50. The cardinal presenting symptoms were dyspnea, chest pain and palpitation in the order of decreasing frequency. Physical examination revealed apical systolic murmur in 27 cjases (90%), with thrill in 10 (33%), and the routine chest films showed enlargment of cardiac silhouette in 15 cases (50%). Abnormal electrocardiographic findings are noted in 27 cases (90%). Among them repolarization abormalities and left ventricular hypertrophy were the most common, occurring in 71% and 66 % of the cases, respectively, follower1 by left atrial enlargment in 24% and the abnormal Q waves in 20% Among various echocardiographic abnormalities, the mean of septal thickness and its ratio to left ventricular posterior wall thickness were 19 mm and 2,1 respectively, and the mean of the degree of systolic anterior motion of mitral valves was 9 mm. The mean of preejection period and left ventricular ejection time as well as their ratio determined in 10 cases were within normal limits. Out of 20 eases treated with beta or calcium blockers. for a mean of 22 months, 14 (70) experienccd symptomatic improvement. □ (5%) deteriorated and in the remainder (25%) there were no noticeable changes.

      • Band-to-Band 터널링에 의한 게이트 유기 드레인 누설전류의 이차원 수치해석

        In this paper, we investigated the characteristics of gate-induced drain leakage(GIDL) current due to the band-to-band tunneling in off-state n-MOSFET. Two-dimensional process and device simulation were performed by TMA-SUPREM4 and MEDICI. S/D(Single-Diffusion Drain) and LDD(Lightly Doped Drain) devices not applied electrical stress are simulated in order to compare drain engineering effect on GIDL characteristics. GIDL current due to direct interband tunneling in LDD structure was lower than that of S/D structure because of lower n-doping concentration. This result suggests that electric field in the gate-to-drain overlap rgion is a key factor controlling band-to-band tunneling generation rate.

        Edible flower means a flower that is good to eat is subject to either cooking or appetizing. In general, people eat edible flower as raw so that the loss of vitamin and inorganic are minimal. Edible flower is usually utilized as salad material or aromatic, decoration for jelly or cake and solid stuff in soup. Thus, decorating food by edible flower improves flavor, fragrance and appetite. Edible flower serves various purposes both east and west. In Korea, Edible flower is mainly subject to soup, cooked potherbs, frying, tea stuff, brewing and etc, whereas in Japan, its various usage covers cooked potherbs, pickle, sliced raw fish, frying, salad, jelly and decoration. On the other hand, Edible flower is used as numerous salad and tea stuff, condiment, roasting, meat, sweets and desserts in Western Hemisphere.
