새로운 물질이 개발되어 신약으로 탄생하기까지 많은 시간과 노력, 예산이 필요하다. 최근, 우리 나라에서도, 신약캐발이 어릴고 힘든 분야이지만 새로운 신약개발을 총해 얻어지는 분가가치가 막대함을 인식, 연구에 박차를 가하 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는, 의약품 개발 선진국인 미국 FDA에서 발행하는 참고자료 중 항균제 임상편가에 대한 가이드라인 및 주요 임상적응증별 항균제 기발(지역사획회득성 폐렴, 원내감염성 계렴, 급성기관지염의 2차세균감염, 만성기지염의 급성세균성 악화, 연쇄구균에 의한 인두영 및 편도염 , 단순성 요로감염증, 복합성 요로감염증 및 신우신영, 급성 세균성 부비동옆, 항 바이러스제 개발시 전임상단계에서 고려사항, 항 바이러스제 허가와 된련 잉상적 고려사항, 카레타 괸련 혈류감염)에 있어서의 파이드라인 등의 자료를 소개함으로져, 향후 제약사의 항균제 신약개발 및 허가 신청된 의악품의 전임상차료 및 잉상시험자료의 검토 평가업무에 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. Changing or unclear interpretations of clinical trial data needed to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of antimicrobial drug products have a times led to confusion and frustration on the part of both applicants and division of these drug products reviewers. The FDA published guidance on desing clinical protocols, implementing, and analyzing data from clinical trials for antimicrobial drug products has been presented and additional companion guidances introduced specific issues to individual infections. This document provides applicants and reviewers with minimal information appropriate for the clinical development of routine antimicrobial drug products and identifies issues common to many antimicrobial drug applications. The agency can use the kind of information to determine whether the antimicrobial drug product under study is safe and effective in the treatment of the specific infection studied.

Recently, the information exchange through a communication network has been increased rapidly. When the sensitive information being sent or stored, the cryptographic technique can be employed in order to prevent it from being exposed or modified by the illegal third party. To implement public key encryption systems based on the integer factorization and the discrete logaritm problem, an efficient exponential arithmetic is mandatory due to large numbers involved. In this paper, the general analysis about the highspeed implementation of primality testing and exponentiations are investigated as well as implementing RSA publickey system. The publickey cryptosystem can be applied to any applications which need both the privacy and the authentication. Finally, suing the software package named MIRACL which provides the basic number theoretic routines for cryptographic software developers. we have implemented the RSA encryption and decryption with BlumGoldwasser probabilistic algorithm under various key and message size.

Background/Aims: Retroperitoneal fibrosis is a fibrosing disease process which frequently develops ureteral obstruction. Malignant retroperitoneal fibrosis has been reported that various types of cancer including cancer of the breast, stomach, prostate, lung, cervix, uteri, colon, pancreas, ovary, and even Hodgkin's disease. While the pathogenesis remains obscure, small foci of metastatic neoplasm in the retroperitoneal space can elicit a desmoplastic reaction in secondary form to malignancy. Methods: Recently we experienced 7 cases of retroperitoneal fibrosis with advanced gastric cancer. So, we report 7 cases of retroperitoneal fibrosis with clinical and radiologic characteristics. Results: The most common signs and symptoms were related irreversible renal dysfunction. The urologic finding noted medial deviation of the involved ureters and hydronephrosis Conclusions: Clinical manifestations are abdominal pain, back pain, hydronephrosis, and uremia. When sudden back pain and hydronephrosis develop in advanced malignancy, physicians should be considerd for retroperitoneal fibrosis.

Purpose: Ultrasound is most effective study for evaluating thyroid nodules. In this review, we discuss that sonographic findings to differentiate benign from malignant nodules and suggest recommendations for indications of fine needle aspiration biopsy and thyroid nodule management. Methods: Sonographic scans of 206 thyroid nodules in 164 patients were candidated for this study. We evaluated sonographic findings by shape, calcification, margin, and echogenicity, retrospectively. Sonographic findings that suggested malignancy included microcalcifications, a speculated margin, marked hypoechogenicity and a shape that was taller than wide. The final diagnosis of lesion as benign (n=180) or malignant (n=26) was confirmed by fine needle aspiration biopsy and follow-up (>6 months). We demonstrated the difference of the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy. Results: Of 206 thyroid nodules, 26 were malignant. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy based on our sonographic classification method were 84.6%, 73.9%, 31.9%, 97.0% and 75.2%. Conclusion: Sonography can be helpful for making the differentiation between and malignant nodules. So, when well trained surgeon find thyroid nodules on sonography, we can make correct diagnosis of malignant nodules. (Korean J Endocrine Surg 2010;10:224-228)

Recycling nutrient solutions in closed hydroponic production systems is usually accompanied by an imbalance of nutrient solutions when concentration is controlled according to electrical conductivity (EC) levels. This study investigated whether it was possible to automatically control the concentrations of five essential elements nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) using only N, K and Ca ion sensors. N, P, K, Ca, and Mg uptake was measured in the nutrient solution, and relationships between absorbed ions were analyzed through twice-repeated experiments in lettuce. Results confirmed that the pattern of PO₄ ion uptake was similar that of N, and the pattern of Mg ion uptake was similar that of Ca. PO₄ ion uptake was most highly correlated with N, and Mg was most highly correlated with Ca. Regression coefficients of N and PO₄ were significantly different at 1.04 and 0.55, respectively, but were similar between Ca and Mg at 0.35 and 0.40, respectively. Additional experiments were conducted to measure nutrient uptake in pak choi and rose plants, both to confirm the results from the first experiment in lettuce, and to assess possible application to other crops. Coefficients of determination both for N and PO₄, and Ca and Mg were considerably high (R² = 0.86) in cultured pak choi, and similar results were observed in cultured rose (R² = 0.87 and 0.73, respectively). Regression coefficients for cultured pak choi were 0.56 and 0.24, respectively, and for rose were 0.51 and 0.16, respectively. Although the results obtained for N and PO₄ were not consistent between the lettuce experiments, N and PO₄ have similar regression coefficients for all crops. No common coefficient was found between Ca and Mg.

Under a perspective of developing a representative Korean corpus, a critical review was made on the existing Korean and foreign corpora and two survey studies, one for corpus-related knowledgeable sources and another for general population, were performed to provide selection criteria of texts for the Korean word frequency count. In the critical review, practical values of a corpus for such diverse areas as lexicography, language education, psychology, computational linguistics, and information sciences in general were introduced and merits and demerits of the existing Korean corpus developed by the Ministry of Education in 1956 were discussed together with the suggestions on the appropriate directions of corpus development on the basis of desirable features of many examplary foreign corpora. In the survey study with corpus-related knowledgeable sources opinions were asked about the inclusion of textbooks and translated texts of foreign books in the Korean corpus and the appropriateness of a priori selected 19 categories of reading materials as the target categories of text selection for the Korean corpus. The knowledgeable sources showed and agreement in favor of the inclusion of textbooks but were ambivalent for the inclusion of translated texts. They also chose only 16 out of 19 a priori selected categories as the appropriate categories for the Korean corpus, dropping the categories of government and industry reports and documents, academic texts and articles, and Bibles. In the survey study with general population a set of questionnaires designed to estimate relative amounts of reading in terms of comparative judgment and reading time were addressed with the 16 text categories selected by the knowledgeable sources. Results of the two survey studies were linearly combined in order to obtain estimates of sampling proportion far each of the 16 categories of tents as the selection criteria of Korean corpus. From the estimations, the proportion of reading newspapers(consisting of 4 subcategories) fumed out to be the largest(33%) followed by, in proportional order, magazines with 4 subcategories(20%), novels and essays with 3 subcategories(18%), hobbies and general arts with 2 subcategories(10%), biographies and true stories with 2 subcategories(9%), textbooks with 4 subcategories(5%), and finally TV and radio broadcasting scripts(5%).
