Background : The incidence of tetanus in adults and neonatal tetanus have been markedly reduced by world-wide use of DTP vaccines. But, tetanus is still one kind of major health problems in many developing countries, and several serosurvey stduies in developed ountries revealed that substantial proportions of adult opulation may lack immunity against tetanus and imunity level against tetanus is continuously decreasing by age. In Korea, tetanus outbreaks have been disappeared since the 1980s by high acceptant DTaP vaccination rates. Annually, few tetanus patient has been reported since 1990s. But, there knave been no seroepide-miological studies to tetanus, no trials to assess tetanuts immunizations. And we do not use Td vaccine in adults for maintaning tetanus immunity. In this aspect, we conducted age related survey of immunity to tetanus and indirectly assessed the immunogenecity of tetanus vaccines, used in Korea. Methods : For the evaluation of age related sero-survey of tetanus immunity in Korean population, study subjects were classified into 16 groups (A∼J group; below 10 years with one year interval, K∼O group; 11~60 yrs with 10 years interval, p group; over 60 yrs). The numbers of each group were 100, and sex distributions of each group were almostly equal. And far the indirect assessment of tetanus immunization in Korean children, children under 15 years old age were classified into 6 groups (I∼VI) according to the status of DTaP vaccination. The numbers of this each group were 50, and sex ratio was almostly equal. Specific IgG antibody to tetanus toxin were detected by ELISA. And the ANOVA repeated t-test was used to compare antibody levels in study groups. Results : In age related groups, the antibody levels to tetanus toxin were well maintained until 20 years old age group (L group), but thereafter the titers abruptly decreased below 0.1 IU/mL and over 75% populations among the groups over 30 years old age needed maintenance of protective immunity to tetanus. The antibody level of male was statistically higher than that of female in P group. In the groups related DTaP vaccination status, the antibody titer was very low in pre-vaccination group (I), but the titers after primary vaccinations were sharply increased and highly maintained until 15 years. Conclusion : The results of our study revealed that the immunity to tetanus was dramatically decreased in age groups over 30 years old. This result indicates that Td vaccination program in adults should be considered for maintenance of immunity to tetanus. And our study indicate that DtaP vaccination programs and vaccines, used in Korea, are effective for acquisition and maintenance of tetanus immunity in Korean children. In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

<P>PIN diodes for digital X-ray detection as a single photon counting sensor were fabricated on a floating-zone (FZ) n-type (111), high resistivity (5-10 kΩcm) silicon substrates (500μm thickness). Its electrical properties such as the leakage current and the breakdown voltage were characterized. The size of pixels was 100μm×100μm. The p<SUP>+</SUP> guard-ring was formed around the active area to reduce the leakage current. After the p<SUP>+</SUP> active area and guard-ring were fabricated by the ion-implantation, the extrinsic-gettering on the wafer backside was performed to reduce the leakage current by n<SUP>+</SUP> ion-implantation. PECVD oxide was deposited as an IMD layer on front side and then, metal lines were formed on both sides of wafers. The leakage current of detectors was significantly reduced with a guard-ring when compared with that without a guard ring. The leakage current showed the strong dependency on the gap distance between the active area and the guard ring. It was possible to achieve the leakage current lower than 0.2nA/cm<SUP>2</SUP>.</P>

한국형발사체용 엔진 개발을 위한 엔진시스템 개발 시험이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 진행되고 있는 액체산소/케로신을 추진제로 하는 가스발생기 사이클 엔진의 성능 평가 방법에 대해 소개하였다. 엔진 개발 시험에서의 주요 측정 변수와 이를 이용한 엔진시스템 및 엔진 구성품의 주요 성능변수를 기술하였다. Development tests of the LOx/Kerosene liquid rocket engine for KSLV-II are going on. This paper introduces the performance evaluation techniques for the firing test of LOx/Kerosene gas generator cycle liquid rocket engine system under the KSLV-II program. Major measurement parameters and major performance parameters based on the parameters measured during engine development tests are described.

현재 우리들은 인터넷 및 각종 매체들을 통하여 많은 정보를 얻고 있다. 이중 많은 정보들이 쉬운 이해력을 위하여 이미지화, 동영상화 되고 있다. 현재 이런 이미지화된 정보들은 사용자의 정보력을 더욱 강화시키기 위하여 점차 몰입화, 입체화되는 추세이다. 본 논문에서 구현하고자 하는 것은 이미지 기반의 3차원 식물 정보 검색 시스템을 구축하는 것이다. VR기법을 이용한 3D 식물 정보 시스템은 기존의 단편적인 2차원 이미지를 탈피하여 대상 식물을 3차원의 입체적인 모습으로 보여줌으로써 대상물에 대한 좀더 사실적인 표현과 대상물 자체의 독특한 특징들을 효율적으로 보여줄 수 있으므로 정보검색을 이용하는 사용자 측면에서 보다 현실적인 정보이용이 가능하다.
An ecological study of wild mushrooms in Yuchi recreational forests of Jangheung county

Many Wild Mushrooms were collected at Yuchi recreational Forests areas for 1 day in July 2010 and 3 days in August 2010. They were identified and examined with references. According to the result, Species diversities are 1 division, 2 classes, 3 subclasses, 5 orders, 13 familys, 20 genera and 28 species. Dominant famillie are Tricholomataceae. Dominant genus are Amanita. Dominant species are Amanita verna (Bull. : Fr.) Roques and Coriolus versicolor (L. : r.) Quel. Resources of Wild Mushrooms were 2 species in edibility, 3 species in clulture, 12 species in toxine, 5 species in medicine, 2 species in anticancer, 11 species in ectomycorrizahe and 4 species in rotten wood.

β-glucan is a safe and highly potent biological response modifier that nutritionally activates the immune response through the Macrophage, Dendritic and additional immune cells to yield various therapeutic effects. Shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes) contanining β-glucans may be beneficial for human health; they have been used in the treatment of cancer, hypertension, and high cholesterol levels. The effect of different substrates and various developmental stages (mycelium growth, primordium appearance, and fruiting-body formation) on β-glucan production in the edible mushroom L. edodes was studied. The cap of the mature mushroom showed the highest β-glucan activity, and β-glucan activity seemed to be influenced somewhat by some well-known inducers or sawdust. In this study, we utilized five strains (JMI 10022, 10036, 10077, 10079, 10080) of L. edodes regardless of origin and growth conditions. This experiment showed that the expression of β-glucan was induced by glucose bond, and increased with the growing of L. edodes. Quantitatively, reverse transcription PCR utilized pairs of primers specific for β-glucan gene expression shows that expressed genes were most commonly indentified during the process of fruiting-body formation. We suggest that the results will provide valuable information to assist L. edodes industry.
