        Esterification of Cellulose Nanofibers with Valeric Acid and Hexanoic Acid

        Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) have received considerable attention as reinforcing fillers due to their excellent and versatile properties, including physical, morphological, and chemical features. Despite many advantages of CNFs, the hydrophilic nature of CNFs significantly limits their use as fillers. In this study, CNFs were modified by esterification with two kinds of carboxylic acids: valeric acid (VA) and hexanoic acid (HA). The degree of substitutions (DS) of VA-CNF and HA-CNF was 2.78 ± 0.04 and 2.61 ± 0.02, respectively. The dispersibility in an isopropanol solvent showed the controlled hydrophilicity of the modified CNFs. Moreover, the water contact angles of VA-CNF and HA-CNF were 79.2 ± 3.1° and 85.0 ± 1.7°, respectively, while the neat CNF was just 18.9 ± 1.6°. The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed that the modified CNFs have much better thermal stability than the neat CNFs. Also, the CNF films showed uniform-sized nano-porous structures after the modifications of CNFs. Combined with well-improved hydrophobicity, these multi-faceted results suggest that our esterification technique of CNFs can be applied in a wide range of eco-friendly materials applications.

        귀환'과 '정착' 사이에서 - 해방기 소설 속 전재민 서사를 둘러싼 역학 -

        This article surpasses the existing “return narrative” and investigates how the core topic of the discourse surrounding the “settlement” issue in South Korean society during the liberation period after returning to their homeland, including Jeon Jae-min, was narrated in the literary works of the time. The main target texts are Eom Heung-seop’s “Development,” Chae Man-sik’s “Boys Grow Up,” Hwang Soon-won’s “While Smoking a Cigarette,” and Kim Gwang-ju’s “Evil Night.” Based on the historical conditions of the disintegration of the imperial order and the establishment of a new nation-state in 1945, the act of “return” in the literature of this period was investigated. It was explored in connection with the discursive proposition of the creation of Korean national and national identity. Conversely, some scholars consider the cases of return that cannot be explained by the national nationalist framework alone in the process of return, capturing the unstable situation of returnees who are constantly floating between the spectrum of citizens and refugees and the dynamic aspect of their subjective desires. However, the return of these overseas returnees to Korea did not mean that they could be immediately incorporated and integrated into the Korean people. “Return” was not simply an abstract country, national identity, or ideology, but a problem related to the arrangement and liquidation of the past experiences of the returning subject, and the adaptation and re-establishment of social relations in the new Joseon Dynasty. It must have been a decision based on the logic of realistic survival or livelihood, such as actual settlement or self-reliance. Accordingly, this thesis, as an extension of the existing research, considers the lives of returnees after “returning” to the new Joseon Dynasty, and the phenomena that appear in the process of settling in South Korean society during the liberation period. In particular, in a situation in which the ideology of inclusive domination and discourse on brotherly love for the war victims of the time was excessive. Meanwhile, various cleavage phenomena revealed in the practical aspect intersect with each other, and in a situation in which the war victims were “integrated” or “in the liberation period of South Korean society,” I aim to examine how the problem of “settling” is reproduced. Accordingly, by critically examining the literary narratives about the war victims during the liberation period, it was intended to explore the (impossibility) of settlement in South Korean society during the liberation period after they returned to their homeland.

        시노폰 시각으로 ‘중국’을 재사유하기 - 『시각과 정체성-태평양을 넘어서는 시노폰 언술』(2021)에 대한 서평

        본고는 2021년에 출간된 미국학계에서 시니폰 연구를 주창하는 대표적 학자인 스수메이(史書美)의 저작 『시각과 정체성—태평양을 넘어서는 시노폰 언술』에 대한 서평이다. 우선 이 글은 기존 중국 중심으로 하는 중국연구에서 소수자의 위치에서 중심과 길항하는 시노폰 연구로의 패러다임 전회 과정과 그 방법론을 간략히 정리한다. 다음으로 이 책을 기존의 시노폰 연구에서의 계보를 위치 짓고 『시각과 정체성』이 책에서 수록되는 여섯 개의 장을 크게 '시노폰의 언어황단적 실천'과 ‘양안삼지(兩岸三地) 사이에서의 시노폰 언술'이라는 두 가지 방향으로 나누어서 집중적으로 검토한다. 마지막으로 이 책에서 펼친 논점들을 단지 한국의 중문학계에만 한정짓는 것이 아니라 한국문학, 문화의 맥락과 접점도 함께 모색한다. This paper is a review of the work “Vision and Identity—Sinophone Speech Beyond the Pacific” by Shu-mei Shih (史書美), a representative scholar who advocates Sinophone studies in American academia, published in 2021. First of all, this article briefly summarizes the process and methodology of the paradigm shift from Chinese studies centered on existing China to Sinophone research, which is in opposition to the center from a minority position. Next, this book is based on the genealogy of existing Sinophone studies, and the six chapters included in this book, ≪Visuality and Identity≫, are broadly divided into ‘Sinophone's Linguistic Abnormal Practices’ and ‘Between the Two Seas and Three Lands’. ‘Sinophone speech in’ is divided into two points and examined intensively. Lastly, the issues raised in this book are not limited to the Chinese literature world in Korea, but also explore the context and points of contact with Korean literature and culture.

        유아교사의 디지털 리터러시 진단 도구 개발 및 타당화

        본 연구의 목적은 유아교사의 업무수행에 필요한 디지털 리터러시의 진단을 위해 변화하는 정보기술을 반영한 도구를 개발하고, 그 타당성을 검증하는 것이다. 디지털 리터러시 진단도구 문항은 유아교육기관에서 이용이 가능한 매체를 기반으로 컴퓨터를 다루는 기술에서 부터 웹상에서 의사소통할 수 있는 능력까지를 모두 포함하는 통합적인 개념으로 계획수립, 문항 개발, 예비조사 및 본 조사 등 연구자가 설정한 진단도구 개발 모형 절차를 거쳐 총 64문항이 개발되었다. 또한 본 도구는 구성요인에 따라 컴퓨터 리터러시, 정보 리터러시, 지식 리터러시 등 3개의 하위영역으로 분류하였으며, 학급경영 및 사무 영역, 유아지도 영역, 전문성 개발 영역 등 3개 직무 영역에서 유아교사들이 주로 수행하는 디지털 리터러시 관련 업무들을 반영하였다. 연구 결과, 전체 신뢰도 계수는 .989로 매우 높았으며, 각 요인 및 문항에 있어 내적 일관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 교차 타당도, 재검사 신뢰도 등을 통해 진단도구로서 매우 안정성이 높은 것으로 판단되었으므로 본 연구에서 개발한 도구는 향후 유아교사의 디지털 리터러시를 측정하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이며 유아교육기관 내 정보격차를 해소하기 위한 디지털 리터러시 현황 파악에도 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. This study reports on the development and validation of an instrument for diagnosing the scope of digital literacy required of early childhood educators. In order to accommodate the constant changes in information technology in the validity assessment of the instrument, the literacy diagnosis items cover a comprehensive range of abilities from computer use, based on the medias available in the early childhood education institutions, to the ability to communicate through various web programs. From the developmental model procedures, the researchers devised 64 items under the headings of planning and establishment, development of items, preliminary survey, and survey. The instrument can also be categorized into 3 subcategories of computer literacy, information literacy, and knowledge literacy, depending on the component factors, and this categorization takes into account the main digital literacy-related work that early childhood educators carry out in 3 work domains of 1) class management and office work, 2) child guidance, and 3) professional development. The validation findings reveal that the overall Cronbach's Alpha is very high, at .989, and internal consistency was found to exist in each factor and item. Also, the instrument was found to be very stable as a diagnostic instrument through cross validity and test-retest reliability tests. In sum, the validation process finds the instrument useful for assessing the digital literacy of early childhood educators and of assessing the current state of digital literacy in individual early childhood education institutions, thereby, where necessary, prompting specific steps to be taken in reducing the digital divide among education institutions.
