Nobiletin attenuates neurotoxic mitochondrial calcium overload through K+ influx and ΔΨm across mitochondrial inner membrane

Mitochondrial calcium overload is a crucial event in determining the fate of neuronal cell survival and death, implicated in pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases. One of the driving forces of calcium influx into mitochondria is mitochondria membrane potential (ΔΨm). Therefore, pharmacological manipulation of ΔΨm can be a promising strategy to prevent neuronal cell death against brain insults. Based on these issues, we investigated here whether nobiletin, a Citrus polymethoxylated flavone, prevents neurotoxic neuronal calcium overload and cell death via regulating basal ΔΨm against neuronal insult in primary cortical neurons and pure brain mitochondria isolated from rat cortices. Results demonstrated that nobiletin treatment significantly increased cell viability against glutamate toxicity (100 μM, 20 min) in primary cortical neurons. Real-time imaging-based fluorometry data reveal that nobiletin evokes partial mitochondrial depolarization in these neurons. Nobiletin markedly attenuated mitochondrial calcium overload and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in glutamate (100 μM)-stimulated cortical neurons and isolated pure mitochondria exposed to high concentration of Ca2+ (5 μM). Nobiletininduced partial mitochondrial depolarization in intact neurons was confirmed in isolated brain mitochondria using a fluorescence microplate reader. Nobiletin effects on basal ΔΨm were completely abolished in K+-free medium on pure isolated mitochondria. Taken together, results demonstrate that K+ influx into mitochondria is critically involved in partial mitochondrial depolarization–related neuroprotective effect of nobiletin. Nobiletin-induced mitochondrial K+ influx is probably mediated, at least in part, by activation of mitochondrial K+ channels. However, further detailed studies should be conducted to determine exact molecular targets of nobiletin in mitochondria.

일본 마이너리티문학 연구의 현재와 과제 ― 내셔널리즘, 우생사상 그리고 궁극의 문학 ―

본 논문은 국내 일본마이너리티문학 연구 성과와 결핍을 개관하고 결핍을 보완할 새로운 가능성의 마이너리티문학으로서 한센병문학과 동성애문학에 대해 검토해 보았다. 검토의 전제조건으로 마이너리티 및 마이너리티문학을 각각 ‘차별당하는 약자’와 ‘차별당하는 약자의 문학’으로서 유동적·포괄적으로 정의하였다. ‘마이너리티문학’이 곧 ‘마이너리티의 문학’으로 등치될 수는 없지만, ‘마이너리티의 문학’은 적어도 ‘마이너리티문학’이 포섭해야 함이 마땅하다 여겼기 때문이다. 기존 연구에서 상대적으로 풍성한 결실을 보인 영역은 재일코리언문학과 페미니즘문학이었다. 전자는 ‘재일코리언’이라는 내셔널·에스닉 마이너리티가 탈식민주의 및 디아스포라 연구와 맞물려 더욱 활성화된 측면이 인정되며, 후자는 페미니즘 문제의식이 더러 철저하지 못한 경우에도 섹슈얼 마이너리티인 여성작가 및 작품 연구에 대한 관심이 최근 더욱 고조되고 있기 때문임을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 양자 모두 ‘마이너리티문학’이라는 시좌를 적극적으로 표방하는 것과는 다소 거리가 있었으며, 그렇기에 본고에서는 ‘마이너 신체성’으로 인해 차별·소외받는 ‘체재 내부의 타자’로서의 한센병자와 동성애자 그리고 양자의 문학에 관심을 기울였다. 근대 내셔널리즘은 국민 역할의 분담에 따른 공간 창출과 분할을 통해 근대적 신체를 억압·격리하고 정신을 관리하였다. 그 핵심 논리의 하나로 기능했던 것이 우생사상이었다. 우생사상에 기초해 열성 종인 한센병자는 격리·단종되었고, 공동체의 생물학적 재생산이라는 국민의 의무를 다할 수 없는 동성애자는 혐오·차별의 대상이 되었다. 그렇기에 그들은 마이너리티 중의 마이너리티, 즉 궁극의 마이너리티인 것이다. 한센병자의 가시적 마이너성과 동성애자의 잠재적 마이너성이라는 차이에도 불구하고 양자의 문학이 긴밀히 연관되어 함께 논의되어야만 하는 필연성이 여기에 있다. This purpose of this thesis was to review of the literature pertaining to Hansen’s disease (also known as leprosy) and homosexuality as minority literature with the view of improving and supplementing results and addressing the insufficiency of domestic Japanese minority literature. As a precondition of review, minority and minority literature were fluidly and comprehensively defined as the “discriminated minority” and “literature of discriminated minority”, respectively. Although “minority literature” cannot be equivalent to “literature by minority”, there is a degree of overlap, because the “minority literature” embraces all the “literature by minority.”The research field with the most abundant relative outcome in conventional studies was the literature relating to ethnic Koreans in Japan and feminism. The former of these two research fields was designated as active, because the national and ethnic minority referred to as “ethnic Koreans in Japan” was accentuated along with post-colonialism and diaspora studies, whereas the latter field was acknowledged because of the recent upsurge in studies concerning female writers, or the sexual minority, and work was stressed even though the critical mind of feminism is not thorough. However, these two research fields differed in the way they advocated attendance of “minority literature”. Thus, this report concentrated on patients with Hansen’s disease and homosexuals, who are discriminated against and outcast as a result of their “minor bodily characteristics”, and their literature. Modern nationalism suppressed and isolated modern physical bodies and managed minds through the creation and division of space under the allocation of roles. One of these core logics was Eugenic Ideas. Based on Eugenic Ideas, Hansen’s disease patients, or those with recessive genes, were isolated and discontinued, and homosexuals, who are not able to fulfill their duty towards the community in terms of biological reproduction, became subjects of abomination and discrimination. Therefore, they form a minority of minorities, or the ultimate minority. Even the difference created between the visible minority of Hansen’s disease patients, on the one hand, and the potential, less obvious, minority of homosexuals, on the other hand, the two types of literature were found to be closely connected, and this is where the inevitability of being discussed together lies.

우생학, 한센병 그리고 한일 한센병소설 - 동아시아를 이동하는 역사적 신체의 문학표상 -

근대국가 일본은 우생사상에 기초에 국민의 신체와 정신을 관리해 장악하려 했다. 그 실현을 위해 우생정책이 시행되었고, 한센병정책 또한 그 일환으로 집행되었다. 표적 한센 병정책은 한센병자의 요양소 ‘격리’와 ‘단종’이다. 식민지 조선의 우생정책과 한센병정책은 다소의 시차를 두고 일본을 좇아가는 형태로 시행되었다. 그래서 식민지 조선의 지식인들이 민족개량을 지향하는 방책으로 잡지 『우생』에 대거 참여한 것은 의미심장하다. 한센병문학은 한센병자의 고통과 불굴의 생의 기록이다. 호조 다미오와 한하운은 일본과 한국을 표하는 한센병문학자다. 그들의 신체는 제국과 식민지의 경계를 넘어 동아시아를 부유한다. 호조 다미오 문학의 궁극의 자기응시와 한하운 문학의 자기소외는 대비된 다. 그 차이야말로 제국 일본과 식민지 조선의 메울 수 없는 간극이라 할 수 있다. 그 간극 을 일본 한센병소설에 묘사된 이중의 마이너리티, 조선인 한센병자의 실상을 통해 확인할 수 있다. 그 속에서 조선인 등장인물은 다양하면서도 전형성을 띠는 양면가치적 성격의 캐 릭터로 조형된다. 피식민자로서 조선인의 가혹한 삶의 현실이 조선인 한센병자의 고난을 통해 표상된다. 이렇게 해협을 넘은 우생학과 한센병문학의 내실은 뒤틀어진 근대의 본질을 한센병자의 신체에 담아 여실히 폭로한다. The modern nation Japan tried to control the body and spirit of the people based on eugenics. To achieve the goal, eugenic policy was implemented and enforced leprosy(Hansen's disease) policy. A typical policy is isolation and sterilization. Eugenics policy and leprosy policy in the Colonial Chosun was strongly influenced by Japan's policy a little later. Therefore, it is meaningful that many intellectuals in the Colonial Chosun aimed to improve the nation by participating in the magazine Eugenics. Leprosy literature is the record of the pain and indomitable life of leprosy's disease. Hojo Tamio and Han Haun are writers who represent Japan and Korea in leprosy literature. The image of their body was wandering in the Asia beyond the boundaries of empire and colonialism. Feature of Hojo Tamio's work is self-contemplation. Han Haun's work is self-alienation. These differences mean that there is a huge and unbridgeable gap between the Empire of Japan and the Colonial Chosun. We can identify this gap through Japanese leprosy novels which show the reality of Chosun's leprosy patient, who had double minority. In the novels, the character of the Korean people is various and typical and ambivalent. As a colonist, Korean people's life was harsh, and their suffering was expressed in leprosy literary works. Eugenics and leprosy literature in Japan and the Colonial Chosun revealed distortion which was the essence of modernity.

2000년대 후반 이후 기술진화, 이용자 수요, 기업전략이 결합하여 IT 전 영역에서 스마트화가 전개되고 있으며,와해적 혁신을 바탕으로 등장한 스마트폰은 스마트 IT패러다임을 주도하고 있다. 스마트폰은 경쟁우위 변천, 기업관계재설정, 생태계 변화를 통해 새로운 산업질서를 창출하고 있으며 기업에게 새로운 비즈니스 기회를 제공하고 있다. 특히 스마트폰을 기반으로 하는 기업과 개인과의 상거래(B2C)가 부각되고 있으며 향후 현 인터넷 기반 전자상거래 시장을 능가할 것으로 평가되고 있다. 이러한 가능성을 지닌 스마트폰 기반 B2C 시장은 기술과 시장, 이용자 측면에서 발전시켜야 할 기회와 해결해야 할 제약요인이 존재하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 콘텐츠, 플랫폼, 네트워크, 단말의 가치사슬(CPNT) 관점에서 스마트폰 B2C 기술동향을 파악하고, B2C 세부 서비스별 시장잠재력과 잠재이용자 특성을분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 국내 스마트폰 B2C 발전방향을 결론으로 제언하였다.

협력적 거버넌스에 관한 성공 요인 분석: 서울시 ‘찾아가는 동주민센터’를 중심으로

복잡하고 다양해지는 사회환경 속에서 효율적인 공공복지서비스전달의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 서울시의 공공복지서비스전달체계 개편사업인 ‘찾아가는 동주민센터’의 시행과정에서 나타난 협력적 거버넌스 구축과 성공 요인을 Ansell & Gash(2007)의 협력적 거버넌스 모형을 적용하여 분석함으로써 새로운 이론의 가능성을 탐색하고 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 사례 분석결과, 현재 시행되고 있는 ‘찾아가는 동주민센터’ 사업은 Ansell & Gash가 제시한 협력적 거버넌스의 조건과 모형을 구성하는 변수의 구성요소를 대부분 갖추고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 초기조건과 결과가 상호적 영향을 미치는 점, 리더십이 협력의 초기조건에도 영향을 미치는 점, 그리고 중개자의 역할이 협력과정에서 중요한 역할을 했다는 점 등 기존 모형이 제시하고 있는 변수들과는 다른 특징들이 발견되었다. 또한, 본 연구는 이해관계자들이 협력의 중요성에 대해 인식할 수 있는 우호적인 환경 마련의 필요성, 리더의 존재와 역할 중요성, 정부나 지자체, 그리고 민간 영역 등을 통한 인력과 재정에 대한 충분한 지원과 이에 대한 노력이 필요하다는 정책적 함의를 도출하였다.
