        현대 패션에 나타난 브레이딩 헤어스타일

          The expectation and hope for the New Millenium appears in the contemporary fashion too. The angle of view, which have focussed on the functionalism and rationalism, is now turning its direction toward the new model. The new model is not the simple revival of the past but the recreation, that is the new conceptional handicraft.<BR>  The purpose of this treatise is the re-illumination and the research of Braiding hair style, which has been handed down to us, closely connected with human life since the dawn of history.<BR>  The following is the conclusion of my research. First, braiding ,worked by hand without special instrument, can be easily applied to the moulding expression of free line and free face of hair design. And it gives the feeling of relief. So it means that we can present a creative and individual image breaking from uniformity caused by the development of mechanic civilization by introducing handcraft technique to hair design.<BR>  Second, braiding can express the hair style cubically because it makes the three-dimensional makeup possible on the real hair.<BR>  Third, today"s trend is the mixed use of two more techniques and various materials, and it expresses more effectively. In the same way, braiding technique present more various image using mixed with many materials (for example, a partial wig, a ribbon, strings etc.)<BR>  As we can see above conclusion, braiding hair style have the merit that an artist can express one"s creative personality.<BR>  Although braiding hair technique is settled in our daily life, the practical use is limited to three unit braiding. So, through this research I expect that various kinds of braiding technique extend its territory that have a new value in the hair style of contemporary fashion.

        헤어스타일에 있어 Yellow 이미지와 활용(活用)

        The various colors are used in our whole life as much as the modern society is called “the age of colors”. The colors in the hair style express the individual taste, personality and the psychological condition, and play an important role as a visual language. The western people, who has thought that the blonde hair is a symbol of beautiful woman from the ancient times, has tried to get the blonde hair continuously even though they had not the technique of hair dyeing. On the other hand, the korean people whose hair color is usually dark brown or black, enjoy a various hair color due to the development of dyeing and decoloration technique. In this study, I deal with the yellow hair style, the most prevalent color which is an important means of communication in the our times.

        대학 교양영어 교과목에서 온라인 매체 활용이 학습 성과에 미치는 영향

          The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a practical English program for college students which had been administered both on- and off-line. After over 1,400 freshmen took two TOEIC-based courses consecutively, questionnaires were administered to measure the students’ satisfaction of the program and their perceived usefulness of on-line learning. The effectiveness of the English program was measured through the improvement in the students’ TOEIC scores, their perceived usefulness of online learning, and their satisfaction with the program. The results showed a statistically significant increase in the students’ TOEIC scores in both semesters, with greater improvement in the second semester as compared to the first. Although the students’ overall perception of the usefulness of e-learning was in the middle on the scale, those who perceived online learning as useful were shown to have spent more time studying for the courses outside class, thereby improving their TOEIC scores and enhancing their level of satisfaction with the program. Pedagogical and research implications are suggested.

        배경지식, 시간압박, 관여도가 한국 대학생들의 영어 읽기 이해에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of the current study was to explore the effects of background knowledge, time pressure, and involvement on reading comprehension. One hundred and twenty college students read three passages and answered comprehension questions in eight different experimental conditions: activated vs inactivated background knowledge, with vs without time pressure, and high vs low involvement. The results showed main effects of background knowledge and involvement on reading comprehension, indicating essential roles of background knowledge in facilitating the processes of reading comprehension in Korea's EFL educational contexts. In addition, the study found an interaction effect of background knowledge and time pressure on reading comprehension. Pedagogical implications are suggested.

        교실 외 활동을 활용한 대학 교양영어 회화프로그램의 학습자 만족도 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a university English conversation program which had employed on-line homework and outside-class interviews with native English instructors. After over 1,200 sophomores took the conversation course for a semester, questionnaires were administered to measure the students' satisfaction for the program and their perceived usefulness and effectiveness of the in- and outside-class activities. The results showed: first, students perceived the in-class lessons and outside-class interviews with the native English instructors as useful, but not the on-line conversation practice; secondly, the students' perceived usefulness, affective effects, and content evaluation of each activity were shown to have significant effects on their perceived effectiveness of the outside-class activities. Lastly, significant differences were not found by the different groups of proficiency level in their perceptions of the usefulness, affective effects, and content evaluation of the outside-class activities. However, different proficient groups showed different amount of study efforts and preference for activities.

        영화 CD-ROM이 영어 학습에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구

        Research has shown that using multimedia teaching materials such as movie videos and CD-ROMs in foreign language classrooms has been effective. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effects of using a movie CD-ROM in English classrooms as a way of improving English language skills and enhancing students’ positive perception of learning English. Sixty 10th-grade students in a commercial high school participated in the study which lasted 10 weeks. One group used the movie Big, while the other group used the conventional method of listening to a tape that accompanied a textbook. The data, which were analyzed statistically using the SPSS, showed the following results: 1) Even though the experimental group’s level of interest and confidence increased by using the movie CD-ROM, the increase was not statistically significant. The same can be said for the control group. 2) The experimental group showed a statistically significant improvement in vocabulary building, while the control group did not. 3) Neither group showed significant improvement in terms of listening ability.

        관학 협력을 통한 방과후 원어민 영어교실의 운영 및 성과

        The purpose of this study was to explore the operation and effects of after-school English programs for elementary students in Korea that are supported by the local government. Questionnaire were administered to 317 after-school elementary students, 50 after-school English program teachers, and 87 parents. In addition, the local government employees who were in charge of program support and those in charge of after-school program operation were interviewed. The results showed 1) at the end of 2011, of the 25 district offices in Seoul, 18 offices supported after-school English programs for elementary students, which were operated by universities and elementary schools in the district and other educational institutes selected through bidding; 2) the student, the teacher, and the parent groups all showed positive perceptions and relatively high level of satisfaction with the effect of after-school programs; and 3) students' interests in the class and the degree of their study efforts were shown to affect their perceptions on their English improvement, which in turn affect the degree of their satisfaction.

        명시적 설명 및 참여적 학습 활동을 활용한 대학 영문법 수업의 효과에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of explicit grammar teaching and student participation through production practice in English grammar class for college students. After 24 college students took a semester of a grammar class, making group presentations on grammar and generating example sentences, a grammar test and questionnaires were administered. The effectiveness of the class was measured through the improvement in the students’ grammar test scores, their level of satisfaction with the class, and changes in their perceptions and methods of grammar study. The results showed a statistically significant increase in the students’ grammar scores and high level of their satisfaction with the class. Of the students’ perceptions of grammar, their interest and confidence in grammar study improved significantly through the class. The students’ methods of grammar study were shown to have changed over the semester from memorizing to understanding and applying grammar rules. Pedagogical and research implications are suggested.
