Purpose To determine the optimal levels of thyroidstimulating hormone (TSH) levels after administration of recombinant human TSH (rhTSH) to patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), we have analyzed the clinical parameters that affected the degree of the increase in serum levels of TSH. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 276 patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), post-thyroidectomy and remnant ablation. Pearson’s correlation coefficient test was used to evaluate the correlation between serum levels of TSH after rhTSH stimulation and various clinical factors, including age, sex, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), body surface area (BSA), serum blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, and estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Linear regression analysis was used to determine the predictors of the degree of increase in serum TSH level after rhTSH stimulation. Results After the rhTSH injections, all subjects achieved TSH levels of >30 μU/mL, with a mean of 203.8±83.4 μU/mL. On univariate analysis, age (r=0.255) and serum creatinine (r= 0.169) level were positive predictors for higher levels of serum TSH after rhTSH stimulation, while weight (r=–0.239), BMI (r=–0.223), BSA (r=–0.217), and estimated GFR (r=– 0.199) were negative predictors. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that serum creatinine was the most powerful independent predictor for serum levels of TSH, followed by age, BSA, and BMI. Conclusions An increment in serum TSH after rhTSH stimulation was significantly affected by age, BSA, BMI, and creatinine, with creatinine being the most powerful predictor. By understanding the difference in the increased levels of TSH in various subjects, their dose of rhTSH can be adjusted during scheduling for radioiodine ablation, or during follow-up (recurrence surveillance) after surgery and ablation.
국내 건설기업의 규모별 안전분위기 인식 수준 비교 연구

In order to reduce the accident rate of construction in South Korea, governments and its affiliates have been tried to establish a safety culture, however they reached the limit. In addition, researchers recently have conducted regarding the safety climate and concluded that safety climate effect on the safety performance. Although organizational culture and enterprise types are different based on business size, they generalized the level of safety climate with a group only. Therefore, in order to solve this issue, the objective of this study is to analyze the safety climate level of construction company depending on business size in South Korea. In addition, the improvements are suggested on the level of safety climate after problems are drawn from considering organizational culture, enterprise type and construction industry in South Korea. In the future, this study will be used as a baseline for the effects ofthe safety climate on the safety performance in construction site based on business size. 정부 및 산하기관들은 건설업의 산업재해율을 감소시키기 위해 안전문화를 정착하고자 하였지만 한계에 도달하였다. 이에, 많은 연구자들은 안전분위기라는 개념을 도입하고 있으며 안전분위기가 안전성과에 영향을 미친다고 보고하였다. 하지만, 기업 규모에 따라 조직문화, 기업유형이 다름에도 불구하고 하나의 규모만으로 안전 분위기 수준을 일반화 하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 건설 기업 규모별 안전 분위기 인식 수준을 분석하고자 한다. 또한, 개별문항 평가 분석과 조직이론, 기업유형, 한국 건설업의 실태를 고찰하여 문제점을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 건설 기업 규모별 안전 분위기와 안전행동의 상관관계에 대한 연구의 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

Background and Objectives: The level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)-stimulated thyroglobulin (Tg) after thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW) is the most sensitive marker for detecting recurrence of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). In DTC, Tg production is regulated by TSH; however, TSH values after THW are never identical, even in the same patient. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of TSH on Tg levels after THW. Materials and Methods: TSH and Tg concentrations were measured twice at 2 and 3 weeks after THW in 309 patients with DTC. TSH and Tg levels at these time points were compared. The percent change in TSH (ΔTSH) and change in Tg level (%ΔTg) from 2 to 3 weeks after THW were calculated, and Pearson's correlation coefficients were calculated to determine whether ΔTSH could affect %ΔTg. Tg cutoff value for diagnostic imaging was 2 ng/mL. Results: The TSH and Tg values at 3 weeks were significantly higher than those at 2 weeks after THW. Tg values increased significantly to >2 ng/mL after 1 week in 38.5% of the patients with Tg values of 0.2-2 ng/mL at 2 weeks after THW. In patients with Tg values ≥2 ng/mL at 2 weeks after THW, Tg values increased significantly after an additional week of THW. ΔTSH correlated significantly with %ΔTg. Conclusion: TSH values differed according to time after THW, and Tg values differed significantly according to TSH values. Therefore, TSH values should be considered carefully when interpreting the meaning of Tg levels in patients with DTC.
지속가능발전교육(ESD) 교직교양과목 운영을 통해 살펴본 중등예비교사들의 지속가능발전교육 경험 분석

The purpose of this study was to develop and implement an ESD course at a College of Education. The participants were 23 pre-service teachers who enrolled in this course. The materials for data analysis were reflective weekly journals, the final reports, self-evaluation reports, and interviews after classes. We analyzed these data using qualitative methods based on the Ground theory of Strauss and Corbin (1998). The results of this study produced 164 concepts, 28 sub-categories, and 6 categories. The core competencies were the background knowledge about the content and components of the class, knowledge about ESD, systems thinking, sensibility, ethics and values, and action and practice. The results of this study identified the necessary competencies required to prepare re-service teachers to teach ESD contents and apply appropriate methods in the classroom. 본 연구는 다양한 전공의 예비교사에게 지속가능발전교육을 가르치기 위한 수업을 개발하고 운영하여 지속가능발전교육에 대한 인식과 규명하고 있는 역량을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 참여자는 2012년 2학기와 2013년 2학기에 지속가능발전교육수업을 수강한 23명의 예비교사이며 연구 자료는 성찰일지, 최종보고서, 인터뷰, 소감문이다. 본 연구는 ESD의 역량에 해당하는 ‘지식’, ‘시스템 사고’, ‘감성’, ‘윤리와 가치’, ‘행동과 실천’을 큰 축으로 두고 Strauss와 Corbin(1998)이 제시한 근거이론 접근 방법에 기반을 두어 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 지속가능발전교육 수업 과정에서 나타나는 예비교사들의 경험은 총 164개의 개념과 28개의 하위범주로 구분되었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 지속가능발전과 관련하여 예비교사들이 갖추고 있는 역량을 확인하고 지속가능발전교육을 학교교육현장에 적용시키기 위하여 예비교사들에게 필요한 역량은 무엇인지, 교수되어야 할 부분이 어떤 내용인지 살펴보았다. 나아가 지속가능발전교육 영역의 주제와 이슈를 중심으로 통합교육과정을 계획하고 실행을 연습함으로 역량을 가지고 통합적으로 가르칠 수 있는 실제적 방안을 제안하였다.
