Objective: To determine the predictive value of the qualitative fetal fibronectin test from cervicovaginal discharge for histologic chorioamnionitis in patients with preterm labor and intact membranes Methods: This retrospective cohort study included consecutive singleton pregnancies who had been hospitalized for uterine contractions before 37 weeks of gestation from August 2017 to May 2020. All patients underwent the qualitative fetal fibronectin test from cervicovaginal discharge, cervical length measurement by transvaginal ultrasonography, and blood test for C-reactive protein. Those who delivered at term gestation were excluded for the analysis. The primary outcome was the presence of histologic chorioamnionitis. Results: (1) The proportion of histologic chorioamnionitis was higher in the group with positive fetal fibronectin results than that with negative results (62% vs. 18%, P<0.001); (2) The positive fetal fibronectin was significantly associated with histologic chorioamnionitis (relative risk 4.6, 95% confidence interval 1.3-16.0, P=0.017) in multivariate logistic regression analysis even after adjustment of gestational age at delivery; (3) The sensitivity to predict histologic chorioamnionitis of qualitative positive fetal fibronectin test was 87%. Conclusion: The qualitative fetal fibronectin test from cervicovaginal discharge is independently associated with the presence of histologic chorioamnionitis.
미미크리 놀이를 적용한 게임 캐릭터의 커스터마이징 디자인에 관한 연구 - 조형 제작과 유희성 중심으로

본 연구는 게임학부 학생들을 대상으로 한 미미크리 프로젝트를 통해 하위 징아와 카이와가 제시한 놀이의 유희성을 교육 현장에서 실험하였다. 연구 자는 코스프레의 대체 개념으로 카이와의 미미크리 이론을 적용하였으며, 학생들은 각자 선호하는 게임 캐릭터를 선정해 무기·방어구·소품을 직접 제 작하고 스킬 동작과 명대사를 재현하였다. 이 과정은 비언어적·언어적 미미 크리로 확장되며 자발성과 창의성을 촉진하였다. 특히 수작업 기반 제작, SNS 공유, 상호작용을 통한 챌린지 문화 형성은 놀이가 학습과 문화적 경 험으로 확장될 수 있음을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 하위징아와 카이와의 놀이 이론을 토대로 미미크리 개념을 적용함으로써, 대학 교육에서 놀이적 학습 이 지닌 가능성과 교육적 의의를 실증적으로 확인하였다. This study explored a Mimicry Projectconducted with undergraduate students in the Department of Game Graphic Design, applying the play theories of Huizinga and Caillois. The students selected game characters of their choice and hand-crafted related items such as weapons, armor, and props, while reenacting major skill motions and signature lines. These activities expanded into both nonverbal and verbal forms of mimicry, fostering voluntary participation and creativity. The process demonstrated that mimicry can move beyond simple imitation to provide immersive and playful learning experiences. Handcraft-based production, social media sharing, and interactive challenges further revealed how play can extend into cultural and educational practices. By integrating the concept of mimicry with established theories of play, this study highlights the pedagogical significance and potential of playful learning in higher education.
Berberine Ameliorates Allodynia Induced by Chronic Constriction Injury of the Sciatic Nerve in Rats

The objective of this study was to investigate whether berberine could ameliorate allodynia induced by chronic constriction injury (CCI) of the sciatic nerve in rats. After inducement of CCI, significant increases in the number of paw lifts from a cold plate test (cold allodynia) and decreased paw withdrawal threshold in the von Frey hair stimulation test (mechanical allodynia) were observed. However, these cold and mechanical allodynia were markedly alleviated by berberine administration in a dose-dependent manner. Sciatic nerve myeloperoxidase and malondialdehyde activities were also attenuated by berberine administration. Continuous injection for 7 days induced no development of tolerance. The antiallodynic effect of 20 mg/kg berberine was comparable to that of amitriptyline 10 mg/kg. This study demonstrated that berberine could mitigate allodynia induced by CCI, a neuropathic pain model, and it suggested that the anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties of berberine contributed to the antiallodynic effect in the CCI model.

Medication counseling improves patients' compliance, which enhances the effectiveness of treatment and reduces the medical cost consequently. Since separation of dispensary from medical practice took place, most patients have had to go to pharmacy after receiving prescription from hospital. The importance of medication counseling in pharmacy thus has been emphasized. To study the present conditions of medication counseling from the pharmacists and the patients satisfaction with them, we conducted a survey with questionnaires. The subjects were 146 outpatients and 55 pharmacies located in Yeongdeungpo-gu. The research showed that 69.9% of the outpatients had received medication counseling and only 35.5% of them were satisfied with it. The main reason for their unsatisfaction was insufficiency of explanation. A number of patients(75.3%) were thinking that medication counseling from the pharmacists is necessary for appropriate administration and optimal efficacy of the medicine. Among 55 pharmacies involved in the research, 17 of them(30.9%) answered that they have been giving patients medication counseling, which were mostly verbally done. Only 8 of them(l4.5%) were providing medication information sheets for some specific drugs. The pharmacists referred to a few problems disturbing optimal medication counseling like these: 1) Lack of time, 2) insufficient information, 3) inappropriate counseling skills. To improve these problems, they hope to get more information about prescription and specific medicines from pharmacy in hospital. If hospital decides to hold the lectures on medication counseling, about 80% of the pharmacists tend to take part in them.
진정법을 이용한 치과치료 시 편도선의 크기가 행동에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 진정법을 이용한 치과치료에서 소아환자의 편도선 크기가 진정법 중 환자의 행동에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 진정법으로 치과치료를 받은 소아환자 35명의 진정기록지를 분석하였다. 진정법은 chloral hydrate 50 mg/kg, hydroxyzine 1 mg/kg를 경구투여하고, 치료 중 50% 아산화질소-산소 흡입 진정 및 필요에 따라 midazolam의 점막하투여(0~0.3 mg/kg)를 병행하는 방법으로 시행되었으며, 편도선의 크기는 Brodsky 분류법을 이용하여 4그룹으로 분류하였다. 환자의 진정 기록지를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 진정법 중 행동 반응은 수면, 움직임, 울음, 전반적 행동 모두에서 편도선 크기가 클수록 낮은 지수(negative behavior)를 보였다(p<0.05). 2. 편도선의 크기는 진정법 중 구호흡과 유의한 연관성을 보였으나(p<0.05), 진정법 중 코골이, 기침과는 유의한 연관성을 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). 3. 편도선의 크기가 큰 환자일수록 midazolam의 점막하투여량이 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of children's tonsil size on the behavior during pediatric dental sedation. The sedation records of thirty five children were examined in this study. All the sedations had been performed using chloral hydrate/hydroxyzine, nitrous oxide/oxygen or/and submucosal midazolam, and the subjects were divided into 4 groups according to their tonsil size using Brodsky's tonsil classification. The results were as follows: 1. The patients with enlarged tonsils showed negative behaviors in all behavior rating aspects(sleep, movement, crying, overall behavior) during sedation than those with normal tonsils(p<0.05). 2. Enlarged tonsils were correlated with mouth breathing(p<0.05) but not with snoring and coughing(p>0.05) during sedation. 3. For the patients with enlarged tonsils, significantly higher doses of midazolam were administered during sedation than for those with normal tonsils(p<0.05).

본 연구는 의류매장 쇼윈도를 연구대상으로 하여 바람직한 의류매장 쇼윈도의 조명환경을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 실제 쇼윈도 크기 모형내에서 조명조건의 질적인 측면에 주목하여 조명이 전시효과에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 그 결과 평균크기 쇼위도내에서 본 실험조건 중에서"변화성"을 중시하는 경우에는 위치 45[cm], 각도 $0^{\circ}$, 광원용량 500[W], 전반조명을 사용했을 때, "명시성"을 중시할 경우에는 위치 180[cm], 각도 $45^{\circ}$, 광원용량 500[W], 전반조명을 사용했을 때, "정서성"을 중시할 경우에는 위치 180[cm], 각도 $-45^{\circ}$, 광원용량 500[W], 전반조명을 사용했을 때의 조명환경을 만들어 주면 가장 평가가 높다는 사실을 밝혔다.경을 만들어 주면 가장 평가가 높다는 사실을 밝혔다.

Background and Objectives : Vocal fold paresis is a clinical condition and considered as a continuum of neurologic dysfunction encompassing partial denervation and variable degrees and patterns of reinnervation. Its incidence, clinical presentation, significance are incompletely understood and still debated. This study describes the clinical, electromyographic findings in patients who presented with complaints of dysphonia and whose laryngoscopic finding revealed vocal fold paresis. Materials and Method : 47 patients (male : 25, female : 22) who referred to Ewha Womans University Medical Center Voice clinic for evaluation of vocal complaints were enrolled in this study. All patients had undergone a through history and physical examination including strobovideoscopic and laryngoscopic examination. Patients with in the history and/or laryngoscopic examination suggestive of vocal fold paresis were evaluated by laryngeal electromyography (LEMG). Results : Of these patients, 23 (48.9%) were found to have evidence of neuropathy on LEMG. There was no significant difference in voice symptoms and laryngoscopic findings between two groups of patients with evidence of neuropathy and who show normal findings on LEMG. Conclusion : LEMG can clinically help to guide the evaluation and management of vocal fold paresis. Due to some limitations of LEMG, laryngoscopic findings and clinical correlations should also be considered when diagnosing the vocal fold paresis.
Chemical Compositional Characterization on Five Samples for Development of Artificial Bee Feed

The western honey bee, Apis mellifera L. is an essential pollinator for high yield in agriculture and provides products of economic values. Recently, the sudden decline of the bee population by numerous causes has occurred, which is called colony collapse disorder (CCD). One of the reasons in CCD, the limited nutrition in colonies declines brood rearing and shortens the lifespan of adult workers. Beekeepers need to provide artificial bee feed regularly to maintain health colony and continuity of bee-related products on apiculture. This study focuses on development of artificial bee feed, through investigation of different contents in nutritional components on five samples, namely canola pollen, mixed pollen, bee bread, MegaBee, and Test A. Among them, Test A was developed as artificial bee feed and was compared with other samples. The five samples were analyzed on free sugar, organic acid and amino acid. Sucrose content showed the largest amounts with 46.15% and 59.60% on Megabee and Test A, respectively. The Test A showed the largest account for citric acid with 92.33%. A total of 21 amino acids were detected on five samples. Among the detected 21 amino acids, proline was accounted the highest content in canola pollen, mixed pollen and bee bread with 1159.21 mg/L, 998.90 mg/L and 783.73 mg/L, respectively. Among the five samples, Test A showed the highest amount of lysine with 471.30 mg/L. Nutritional content, balance and efficiency needs to be considered for the development of artificial bee feed. This study will contribute to provide future directions on development of artificial bee feed.
