      • 各種 胃手術이 經口的 糖負荷試驗에 미치는 影響에 關한 實驗的 硏究

        Adult mongrel dogs were divided into 5 groups, control, pyloroplasty, vagotomy, vagotomy with pyloroplasty and subtotal gastrectomy. Each group consisted of 5dogs, and blood samples were taken 9 times from each dog, including fasting and at intervals of 15 minutes during the 1st hour, of 30 minutes during the 2nd hour, and of 60 minutes during the 3rd and 4th hours after glucose administration on the 60th postoperative day. Glucose was given through Levin tube into stomach in 20% solution, 1.5gm./㎏. of body weight. Results are as follows: 1. Postprandial blood sugar level was most markedly elevated in the group of pyloroplasty in which the peak value was 177.0±10.0㎎./100㎖., seen at 60 minutes after the ingestion of sugar. 2. In the vagotomized group, the peak blood sugar level was the lowest, the value being 118.0±5.4㎎./100㎖., at 60 minutes after sugar ingestion and sluggish lowering curve observed thereafter. 3. In the group of combined operation of vagotomy and pyloroplasty, the peak appeared most delayedly, seen at 120 minutes after sugar ingestion, the value being 129.4±13.2㎎./100㎖. 4. In subtotal gastrectomy group, the peak, 144.8±13.8㎎./100㎖., appeared at 30 minutes after sugar ingestion and at 60 minutes, to be steeply declined and the blood sugar showed the lowest value in this series of experiment. At 240 minutes, the level revealed to be 65. 6㎎./100㎖., even lower than the fasting level 78.4±3.9㎎./100㎖..

        Hysrocolloid류가 돈육 Patty의 이화학적.조직적.관능적 특성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 친수성 콜로이드의 첨가가 저지방 육제품에 품질에 미치는 영 향을 검토하였다. 생육, 가열육 및 배가열육 patty의 수분함량은 대구조가 낮은 반면 지방함 량은 높았다. 생육 및 재가육의 면도(L값)는 sodium alginate 첨가구가 다른 patty들에 비해 현저하게 낮았고, 황색도(b값)는 대조구가 현저하게 낮았다. 가열육 patty의 수율 및 최종수 율은 친수성 콜로이드 첨가구가 대조구보다 현저하게 높았다. 가열육 patty의 지방 보유율 은 대조구가 91.3%로서 친수성 콜로이드 첨가구보다 낮았으며, 재가열육patty의 자방 보유 율은 모든 patty가 89.7~93.1%사이였다. 가열육 및 재가열육 patty의 경도는 xanthan gum 첨가구가 현저히 낮았으며, 저작성은 대조구, CMC, sodium alginate 및 xanthan gum 순으 로 높았다. 보수력의 경우 친수성 콜로이드를 첨가한 가열육 및 재가열육 patty가 대구조보 다 현저하게 높았다. 관능검사 결과 향, 조직감 및 전체적인 기호성은 patty들 사이에 현저 한 차이가 없었으나, 다습성은 xanthan gum, sodium alginate, CMC 및 대조구 순으로 우수 하였다. 전체적인 결과 지방율 20%첨가한 대조구보다 지방 10% 및 물 10%에 친수성 콜로 이드를 각각 1%씩 물 10%에 친수선 콜로이드를 각각 1%씩 첨가한 patty가 조직적.관능 적 특성이 우수하였다. This study was conducted to investigate the effect on quality of low fat pork patties containing various hydrocoloids such as sodium alginate, carboxymethy1 cellulose (CMC) and zanthan gum. Moisture contents of raw, cooked and reheated patties of control patty (20% fat) were lower than those of the hydrocolloids-added patties, and fat content patties was higher than other patties. Colors of raw and reheated patties were not different among four kinds of patties, but L-value of cooked patty adding sodium alginate and b-value of control patty were low significantly in comparison with other patties. Cooking and final yield of hydrocolloids-added patties was high significantly in comparison with control patty. Fat retention of cooked control patty was lower than hydrocolloids-added patties, and fat retentions of retention four kinds of patties were 89.7~93.1%. Hardness of cooked and reheated patties adding xanthan gum was low significantly in comparison with other patties, and chewiness was high in theorder of control patty, CMC, sodium alginate and xanthan gum. In case of water holding capacity, cooked and reheated hydrocolloids-added patties, and juiciness was superior in the order of xanthan gum, sodium alginate, CMC and control patty. On the whole, textural and sensory characteristics of patties containing hydrocolloids were superior to control patty.

      • <아메바>性 肺膿瘍의 外傷性破裂 1例 : A Case Report

        Amebic liver abscess are due to spread of Endamoeba histolytica from intestinal lesions by way of the portal system. It is very rare in children and the right lobe in involved in 50 to 68 percent according to literature. The amebic liver abscess may rupture spontaneously into neighboring organs or cavities. We experienced a case of traumatic rupture of right amebic liver abscess into the abdominal cavity due to traffic accident in 8 year old school boy. At first, we misdiagnosed as traumatic liver laceration because of peritoneal irritation signs, anemia, rapid pulse, lowering of blood pressure and aspiration of dark red coloured fluid on paracentesis. We failed to demonstrate: amebae and it's cyst from the content of abscess and tissue specimen, But succeeded in stool examination. We could observe gas containing small cyst suspecting amebic lung abscess at the -posterior portion of right lower lobe on roentgenographically.

        Effects of Nitrogen Fertilization on Leaf Yield and Pyranocurmarine Accumulation in Angelica gigas Nakai

        Angelica gigas Nakai is one of the most widely used herbal medicines and is known to have many pharmaceutical effects including an anti-oxidant, anti-cancer etc. This study was carried out to investigate an effect of fertilization on leaf yield, production of dry-matter and accumulation of pyranocurmarine compounds such as decursin (DE) and decursinol angelate (DA) in Angelica gigas Nakai. Effect of fertilization was determined from response surface regression equation composing of 2 by 3 factorial arrangement of urea, sodium dihydrogen phosphate and potassium chloride. Yield of leaf in Angelica gigas Nakai significantly increased until 100 days after transplanting. Production of leaf also tended to increase with increasing nitrogen fertilization. Model of regression equation showed that leaf production depended upon nitrogen (Pr>|t| : 0.087, 0.256 and 0.079). Also, statistical results between nitrogen application level and production of dry-matter showed significant relationship (p<0.05) and contents of dry-matter was highest in 10 kg 10a-1 treatment on 24 Sep. Active compound isolated and purified from leaf and root of Angelica gigas Nakai was identified as DE and DA by gas chromatograph-mass spectrophotometry (GC-MS). Concentration of DA as prevalent compound in leaf was highest on 20 Aug. but decreased on 24 Sep. Amount of DE and DA accumulated in Angelica gigas Nakai significantly increased with growth stages and nitrogen level. The result of our investigation imply that nitrogen fertilization is important factor for production of leaf and accumulation of pyranocurmarine in Angelica gigas Nakai as a medicinal/food materials.

        42% Ca(NO₃)₂水溶液의 循環系中에서 發生한 DCuT₁-H의 腐蝕은 Brine의 不適正 pH, 異物質의 混入 및 水流速度 등등이 單獨 또는 複合的인 作用에 基因하였음을 實驗 및 硏究를 通하여 確認하고, 防蝕 方法으로서 Brine의 製造法改善, 適正 pH의 決定, 異物質의 分離除去 및 設計 流速 維持 등 諸方法中 異物質의 分離 除去法-化學的 處理法-이 가장 效果的이었고 Brine의 循環適正 pH가 가장 큰 影響을 미치는 要素임을 알았다.

        Human Acyl-CoA:Cholesterol Acyltransferase (hACAT)-inhibiting Triterpenes from Lythrum salicaria L.

        β-Sitosterol (1), betulinic acid (2), and 3β-hydroxy-20(29)-lupen-28-oic acid methyl ester (3) were isolated from the herbal parts of Lythrum salicaria. Compounds 2 and 3 were isolated for the first time from L. salicaria and they showed inhibitory activities on both hACAT1 and hACAT2. These results suggested that L. salicaria, which contains triterpenes 2 and 3, might be effective in the prevention and treatment of hypercholesterolemia or atherosclerosis due to its inhibitory effect on hACAT.

        Effects of Soil Water Potential and Nitrogen Fertilization on Characteristics of Photosynthesis and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Induction in Schisandra chinensis Baillon

        Management of soil water and fertilization is known to primarily affect physiological properties and yield in plant. The effect of soil water potential and nitrogen application on characteristics of photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence in Schisandra chinensis Baillon was investigated on a sandy loam soil. Net photosyntheis rate and transpiration rate increased as a photon flux density and was highest at –50kPa of soil water potential. Light compensation point (1.5 μmol m-1 s-1) and dark respiration (0.13 μmol CO2 m-1 s-1) was lowest at -50 kPa but maximum photosynthesis rate (13.10μmol CO2 m-1 s-1) and net apparent quantum yield (0.083 μmol CO2 m-1 s-1) was highest at -50 kPa. As results of chlorophyll fluorescence by OJIP analysis, maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) of photosystem II (PSII) and PIabs was higher in treatments of –50 kPa and -60 kPa respectively, which reflects the relative reduction state of PSII. But the relative activities per reaction center such as ABS/RC and DIo/RC were low with decreasing soil water potential. Net photosyntheis rate and transpiration rate were highest at treatment of soil testing 1.0 times (92 kg ha-1). Application of nitrogen resulted in high Fv/Fm, PIabs and low ABS/RC, DIo/RC. This result implies that -50 kPa of soil water potential and nitrogen fertilizer may improve the efficiency of photosynthesis through controlling a photosystem in Schisandra chinensis Baillon.
