통섭(統攝)의 관점에 따른 교육공학 접근 방법의 재조명

통섭(統攝)은 진리를 향한 하나의 새로운 방법론으로 부각되면서 제학문의 연구에 있어 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 이러한 통섭이라는 개념과 이에 근거한 방법론이 교육공학이라는 학문 연구에 의미하는 것은 과연 무엇일까? 통섭의 관점은 다양성을 인정한다는 점에서 교육공학의 개념 및 연구영역에 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 이에 근거하여 교육공학은 단순한 학제간 (Inter-disciplinary) 연구를 뛰어 넘어 각 학문이 가지고 있는 기본적인 원리와 개념을 이해하고 이를 통해 서로 다른 학문의 개념과 방법론들이 녹아 새로운 것을 만들어내는 범학문적 연구(trans-disciplinary study)를 지향하여야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교육공학의 개념 및 연구영역을 통섭적 개념에 근거하여 재탐색하였다. 교육공학이 타학문들과 적당한 수준에서 혼합 활용될 경우, 특히 문제해결 도구 및 기술로 인식될 때 교육공학은 학문으로서의 정체를 밝힐 수 없으며, 더 이상 발전하지 못할 수 있고 이러한 문제점은 통섭적 관점에 근거하여 교육공학의 내부적 통섭과 외부적 통섭을 추구할 때 극복될 수 있다. 교육공학이라는 이론적?실천적 목적 해결을 위해서는 외부적으로는 다양한 학문 영역의 본질적 작동원리를 이해하고 이를 통해 주어진 연구문제를 파악해나가고, 내부적으로는 동일한 분야에서의 영역 간의 상호보완과 통합적으로 파악하려는 시도, 즉, 외부적 그리고 내부적 통섭의 관점이 필요한 시기이다. As consilience emerges as a new method to seek after the truth, it draws considerable attentions for studying all related subjects. Then, what does the concept of consilience and the method based on this concept imply in terms of Educational Technology? It can have an influence on the concepts and there research areas of Educational Technology in that consilience perspective acknowledges the diversity. Thus, Educational Technology should be heading to understanding the basic principle and concept of each discipline beyond simple inter-disciplinary research, through which it should be intended to pursue trans-disciplinary study developing new ideas by blending them. Accordingly, In this thesis, we studied the concepts and research areas of Educational Technology from consilience perspective. Educational Technology cannot only establish its identity as the discipline, but also limit its development in case that Educational Technology is blended with other disciplines and applied just at the proper level and especially that it is considered as one of problem-solving tools and techniques. These problems will be resolved when Educational Technology expands a view from internal and external consilience perspective. To achieve theoretical and practical purposes of Educational Technology, it is the time that externally needs to understand the fundamental principals of various disciplines and grasp the research subjects and that internally needs experiments to support and comprehend boundaries in the same field. That is the perspective of internal and external consilience.
