This study was a descriptive correlational study to examine the relationships among moral sensitivity, attitude, and nursing practices for older people among nurses in long term care hospitals. Data collection was performed from June 30 to September 15, 2012 using a self-administered questionnaire from 208 nurses. The instruments used for this study were the moral sensitivity questionnaire, the scale for attitudes toward age groups, and the nursing practices tool. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics Win 19.0 program. The mean score of the moral sensitivity was 5.10 out of 7 point scale and the mean score of the attitude toward older people was 3.05 out of 5 point scale. On a 4 point scale, the mean score of the nursing practices was 3.78. There was a significant positive correlation between moral sensitivity and nursing practices. These results showed that the moral sensitivity was the important factor of nursing practices among nurses in long term care hospitals. Therefore, it is necessary to develop on-the-job training programs focused on improvement of moral sensitivity and positive attitudes toward older people in order to high quality of nursing care in long term care hospitals.

반딧불이의 발광유전자는 루시퍼라제는 유전자인데 이 유전자를 최근 생명과학 분야의 연구에 많이 활용되고 있다. 반딧불이의 발광 유전자의 유용성은 현재 cell-based assay 방법으로 개발하여 많은 리포터 유전자 시스템으로 사용되어 발현벡터로서 상용화되고 있다. 본 논문은 발광유전자를 이용하여 전사활성 및 그 이외의 생리적 활성을 측정하는 분자생물학적 연구의 유용성에 관하여 알아본다.

Transgenic mouse model system을 위한 BATF knock out vector를 이용한 ES cell의 transfaction

Transgenic vector that is knocked out of exon 111 of BATF was transfected to ES cells to investigate the function of leucine zipper of BATF transcription factor. The ES cells that was transfected by transgenic vector was selected from grown in the selected medium. The DNA from ES cells that was selected from selected medium was performed PCR and the product was analyzed by 1% agarose gel to get positive clone. The probe for southern blot was prepared to analyze for transgenic mouse model system. 전사인자 BATF의 leucine zipper 기능을 알기위하여 이를 encode 한다고 알려져 있는 exon 111 부분을 knock out 시킨 transgenic vector를 ES cell에 transfection 시켰다. 그 후 transgenic vector를 가진 ES cell은 선택적인 medium에서 선택되었다. 선택되어진 ES cell의 DNA을 이용한 PCR product는 1% agarose gel에서 분석되어 졌으며 positive clone을 확인 하였다. 또한 knock out mouse를 확인할 수 있도록 Southern blot를 위한 probe를 만들었다.

Lectins are glycoproteins that have the ability to specifically combine with particular carbohydrate moieties of cell membrane. These characteristics have made them valuable analytical tools for studying structure-function relationships. The pectin gene of 825bp from Dolichos biflorus is subcloned from the cloning vector to the expression vector pHX233-2. The expression vector contains the highly expressed trc promoter, the lacZ ribosome binding site and ATG initiation codon. The double digestion of the cloned pDB58-HY1 confirmed that the clones contain the DH58 pectin gene with a right orientation in pkk233-2.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the performance of infection control and associated factors among 119 rescue crews. Methods: Using convenience sampling methods, 119 rescue crews in Gwangju were selected. General characteristics, infection-related factors, awareness and performance of infection control were collected using self-reported questionnaires. Descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were performed to determine the performance of infection control and associated factors. Results: The mean score of infection control performance was 4.17±0.47. Of all 7 performance domains, mean score of personal protection domain was the lowest. In multiple regression analysis, performance score was significantly low in level 2 EMT (β=-0.177, p=0.049). On the other hand, infection control performance were significantly high in subjects with experience of infection prevention education (β=0.145, p=0.032) and with higher awareness score of infection control (β=0.472, p<0.001). Conclusion: Mean performance scores of infection control were high (>3) for all performance domain. And it was associated with license type, education experience and awareness of infection control. Appropriate education and improving of infection control awareness can be helpful in increasing the performance of infection control.
