Prevalence of Low Bone Mineral Density and Associated Risk Factors in Korean Puerperal Women

Although pregnancy is a medical condition that contributes to bone loss, little information is available regarding bone mineral density (BMD) in puerperal women. This cross sectional study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of low BMD in puerperal women and to identify associated risk factors. We surveyed all puerperal women who had BMD measurements taken 4–6 weeks after delivery in a tertiary university hospital, and did not have any bone loss-related comorbidities. Among the 1,561 Korean puerperal women, 566 (36.3%) had low BMD at the lumbar spine, total hip, femoral neck, and/or trochanter. Multivariate analysis revealed that underweight women had a significantly higher risk of low BMD compared with obese women at pre-pregnancy (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 3.21; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.83–5.63). Also, women with inadequate gestational weight gain (GWG) were 1.4 times more likely to have low BMD than women with excessive GWG (aOR, 1.42; 95% CI, 1.04–1.94). One-way ANOVA showed that BMDs at the lumbar spine and total hip were significantly different between the 4 BMI groups (both P < 0.001) and also between the 3 GWG groups (both P < 0.001). In conclusion, this study identifies a high prevalence of low BMD in puerperal women and thus suggests the need for further evaluation about the change of BMD in pregnancy and postpartum period.
새로운 유기반응에 관한 연구 유기초음파화학. S-NH_2NH_2을 이용한 방향족 니트로 화합물의 환원반응에서 초음파 효과

히드라진이나 일수화 히드라진을 유기합성에 이용하기 시작한 이후 이에 관한 많은 연구가 이루어졌다. 예를 들어 Wolff-Kishner반응, 올레핀의 수소화반응, 알킨에서 cis-알켄화반응, 니트로기의 환원반응, 질소에 결합되어 있는 carbomethoxy제거반응, ethylenethioketal의 탈황반응, 에스케르기의 deblocking 반응, stilbene dibromide의 환원반응, levulinyl nucleoside 분해반응, 니트로소, 이소니트로소기의 환원반응, 등이 있다. 한편, 황을 이용한 유기반응에슨 paraaldehyde의 브롬화 반응. hydroaromatic compounds의 탈수소화반응, 톨루엔의 염소화반응, 벤조니트릴에서 테트라진의 합성 등이 알려져 있으나, 황-히드라진쌍이 유기작용기의 변환에 응용된 연구는 알려진 예가 없다. 최근 본 연구자는 히드라진이 montmorillonite, graphite, Fe-C^27, activated Zn-Cu^28, Zn-C^29, NaNO_3 또는 KNO_3^30, activated Ni-Zn^31등에 분해되면서 방향족 니트로 화합물을 아미노 화합물로의 환원반응과 activated Ni-Zn-Zn(NO_3)_2을 이용한 니트로벤젠과 그 유도체의 azoxy 화합물 합성, activated CU-Zn-Zn(NO_3)_2을 이용한 벤조니트릴과 그 유도체의 테트라진의 합성 등에 관한 연구를 수행해오고 있다.

Products such as mobile and display are mostly shipped with a protective film in order to prevent the product from external impacts or scratches. If pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) for a protective film are solvent- or thermosetting types, it may cause non-uniform adhesive force or remain residue on a surface as the PSA film is removed. In this research, we studied on UV-curable adhesive formulation with a high cohesive property made through formation of cross-linking by adding various cross-linkers and metal chelates and found a correlation between formulation and adhesive properties. It was confirmed that the PSA having double cross-linking structure exhibited low peel strength, high shear strength/holding time and was smoothly removable from a surface without residues. As a result of analysis of the UV curing behavior utilizing the rheometer, additionally, the adhesive formulation is quickly cured under UV irradiation, which is suitable for high-speed adhesive process.
