It is important to operate a limited number of interceptors effectively to counter ballistic missile threats. The existing interceptor operating method determines the number of interceptors according to the level of TBM (Theater Ballistic Missile) engagement effectiveness applied to a defended asset. It can cause either excessive interceptor waste compared to the intercept probability or the intercept probability decrease. Thus, interceptor operating method must be decided considering the number of ballistic missiles, intercept probability and cost. This study proposes a mathematical model to improve the existing interceptor operating method. In addition, the efficiency indicator is proposed for trade-off between intercept probability and cost. As a result of the simulations, the mathematical model-based interceptor operating method can achieve better results than the existing interceptor operating method.

This essay focused on direct investigation of content of Seosarok by Lee, SangRyong. His awareness on Korea history was based on Manchuria Centered cognition. Therefore, he realized a stemma as legitimated from Dangun Chosun pass through Northern Buyeo, Eastern Buyeo, Jolbon Buyeo pass through Goguryeo to Balhae, even though existing historical awareness was based on another line from Dangun Chosun pass through Gija Chosun pass through Three Kingdoms of Korea to Shilla. Furthermore, he had defined Yodong as a historical stage of Chinese lineage and strongly distinguished from ‘Korea Histroy’ based on Manchuria and Korea peninsula region. He had adapted history cognition of Daejonggyo partially by close relationship with members of the religion. As a result, he had set Dangun as center of history and then sublimated this viewpoint into nationalism. His effort to figure wide domain of ancient nation in Manchuria was linked to the point of view.

Currently, local regulations, such as KS Code, do not clearly specify how to calculate the range of hazardous area, so the dispersion modeling program should be used to select dispersion. The purpose of this study is to present a methodology of determining the range of hazardous area which is simpler and more reasonable than modelling by using representative materials and process conditions. Based on domestic and overseas regulations that are currently in effect, variables affecting distance to LFL(Lower Flammable Limit) were selected. A total of 16 flammable substances were modelled for substance variables, process conditions variables, and weather conditions variables, and the statistical analysis selected the variables that affect them. Using the selected variables, a three-step classification method was prepared to select the range of locations subject to explosion hazard.

This paper deals with the response of the American Holiness movement to Charles Darwin`s theory of evolution. Darwin`s theory of evolution had a huge impact on the American scientific circles and society in the 19th century. In particular, its basic premise was a great challenge to Christianity and its main doctrines. In response, American Christianity accepted, or completely rejected the theory of evolution. The American Holiness movement that also started at a similar time, was inevitably encountered Darwin`s theory of evolution and had no choice but to respond to it. According to the author’s research, the response of the Holiness movement to the theory of evolution has several characteristics: First, the Holiness movement was actually indifferent to the theory of evolution, although it externally stood firmly in the creationism camp which was completely opposed to the theory of evolution. Second, the Holiness movement as a member of the bellicose fundamentalism in the 20th century, only focused on conflict rather than dialogue with the theory of evolution. Lastly, the Holiness movement failed to track the theory of evolution (as studies or worldview) and racism (as ideology) which was widely popular among scholars at the time. Based on the above historical facts, the author dares to conclude that the relationship between the two corresponds to ‘the indifference model’. Why, then, did the Holiness movement respond the theory of evolution so indifferently? The author analyzes that the reason is due to the apathetic and dualistic attitude of the Holiness movement to the world (or science in a narrow sense) and, more precisely, the lack of Christian worldview which seeks to see the world from the Christian viewpoint.
연약점토지반에 설치된 IER 지주식 흙막이의 효과적인 수평변위억제 방법에 관한 연구

A self-supported temporary excavation method called Inclined Earth Retaining structure (IER) has been developed by improving an existing excavation method. The stability of the IER was proved with both model tests and field tests. Especially, the results of the model tests proved that the lateral displacement of a model retaining wall was significantly reduced in clay. In this study, the applicability of the IER installed in the soft clay ground is estimated by analyzing survey data collected in the construction field. The results of FE analysis show that the lateral displacement of the IER decreased by 70.9% of that of a single row, self-supported retaining wall using the same number of H-piles. Thus, using the IER method in the soft clay ground will increase the stability of the excavated ground with the effect restraining its lateral displacement. Furthermore, using Deep Cement Mixing (DCM) to the upper half embedded depth of front support is recommended as a subsidiary method of reducing the lateral displacement of IER in the soft clay ground based on FE analysis results.
