Effect of Agricultural Organic Materials Using Sulfur and Oil on Insect Control in Pepper and Tomato

This experiment was carried out to determine the optimal concentration of agricultural organic materials using sulfur and oil for the insect pest control in pepper and cherry tomato cultivation. The control value of aphids and Oriental tobacco budworm (OTB) was examined one day after spraying with sulfur preparation (SP) (0.33~0.17%), oil preparations (OP) (2.00~0.33%), SP+OP, OP+ginkgo leaf extracts (GLE), SP+OP+GLE on the "Super Manidaa"pepper. The aphid control in pepper was complete by applications of SP+OP (0.25+1.00%) in the early growth stage and the control value was above 98.1% by the application of OP+GLE (1.00+1.00 %), SP+OP+GLE (0.25+1.0+1%), SP+OP+GLE (0.25+1.0+0.5%) in the middle to late growth stage while showing 0% in the control treatment. The OTB was completely controlled by the 3 times application with the high concentration of SP+OP (0.25+1.00%) in pepper cultivation. This result indicates that the oil and the sulfur preparations should be applied at low concentration before insect pests do not appeared, and then sprayed at the high concentration after they appear at pepper plant. The greenhouse whitefly in 'Minichal' tomatoes was completely controlled by three times application of SP (0.25~0.33), OP (1.0~2.00%). and all the treatment of SP+OP. However, continuous control with intervals of 1~3 days was considered favorable in the tomato plant. By the periodical control with agricultural organic materials using sulfur and oil, the greenhouse whitefly, which is a high-temperature insect pest, several moths of OTB did not occur at all. In conclusion, SP+OP (0.17%+0.33%) treatment was the most economical combination to control the aphid, OTB, and greenhouse whitefly in pepper and tomato cultivation when considering operating cost. In addition, we recommend that SP should not be sprayed on the plant shoots during the day time from July to August because of high temperature.
멀칭재료와 GA<sub>3</sub>처리에 따른 유색칼라(Zantedeschia elliottiana cv. 'Black Magic')의 생육 및 개화반응

This experiment had been conducted to determine optimal culture conditions for the growth and cut flowers of Calla (Zantedeschia 'Black Magic' 'Golden Affair') in highlands. Tubers of calla 'Black Magic' was treated with 0, 100, and $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ concentration of $GA_3$. ABA content in tubers and roots were twice higher ($20-25pmol{\cdot}mL^{-1}$) in control than in $GA_3$ treated tubers and roots. ABA contents in tubers was not consistent but ABA contents in roots increased with increasing $GA_3$ concentration. However ABA is in inverse proportion to GA. It was mean that GA of high contents was ABA of low contents. Calla 'Golden Affair' was treated with different mulching materials (Control, black PE, Reflective film, Rice hull) and $GA_3$ concentrations (0, 50, 100 and $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$). It was largest in the length of flower at mulching of reflective film, Rice hull and it was greatest in the number of cut flowers at the treated with $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ $GA_3$, Therefore the proper condition was at $200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ $GA_3$ with reflective film mulching.

본 논문은 조선 후기 학자 이만부의『四書講目』을 연구하는 일환으로,『大學講目』을 연구하는 과정에, 그 중 가장 핵심이라 할 수 있는 <格物說>을 고찰한 것이다. 息山은 옛 사람이 비록 이미 말하였으나 유독 내가 먹고 음미하여 느낀 것을 말하여 스스로 보는 것이 불가한가? 라고 하였고, 의리는 무궁하니 진실로 옳다면 비록 주자의 설이 아니라도 從違에 인색해서는 안 된다고 하면서 자신의 견해를 뚜렷이 밝히고 있다. 집주설을 맹신하기보다는 집주설이 옳다고 여겨지는 부분은 그대로 수용하여 부연설명을 더하였고, 나아가서는 창의적 해설을 하기도 하였다. 첫째. 식산은 기존학자들이 경문의 본뜻과 주자가 주석한 본래의 의도를 올바르게 파악하지 못하고 있다고 판단하여 자신의 입장을 논리적이고 체계적으로 설명하여 단독의 <格物說>을 세웠다. 둘째. 事와 物의 인식에서 事와 物을 體와 用의 관계에서 파악하여 物은 事의 體, 事는 物의 用으로 분명하게 구별하여 격물의 대상에 대하여 구체적으로 인식하고 있다. 셋째. 식산은 주자의 ‘格 至也’의 설을 고수하면서, ‘至’는 ‘이르다’, ‘窮至’는 ‘끝까지 이르다’로 이해하고 있다. 넷째. 식산은 物到說과 我到說중 물도설을 지지하며, 물도설 중 퇴계의 理自到說을 인정하고 있다. 그러나 많은 학자들이 퇴계의 설을 '理가 내 마음에 인식된다.' 는 것으로 잘못 이해하고 있는것을 바로잡았다. 다섯째. 格物의 현토에서, ‘物에(厓)격홈’으로 현토하면서 장구를 환문하여 ‘事物之理竆至欲其極處 無不到’로 설명하고 있다. 物格에 있어, ‘神之格思’의 格으로 ‘物格’의 格을 증명하고 있다. This thesis is part of research of 『Saseogangmok』 by Man-Bu Lee, a scholar in late joseon dynasty. In the process of researching 《Daehakgangmok》, 「Theory of Gyeokmul」, which may be the core of it, was chosen for consideration. Siksan said, "Though ancient people mentioned it, isn't it impossible for me to speak and see what I myself eat, appreciate and feel?". He defined his position clearly saying, "Loyalty is infinite, so if it is real true, you don't be stingy about whether or not to forgive though it is not a theory of Chu Hsi." Rather than believing blindly in the theory of Jipju, he accepted what seemed right in the theory while adding further explanation, moreover, he added a creative exposition. First, Siksan esplained his position logically and systematically and established his own 「Theory of Gyeokmul」 by judging that the existing scholars did not grasp the orininal meaning of the scripture and the original intention of Chu Hsi's annotation as it is. Second, he grasped incident(事) and object(物) in the relationsgip between substance(體) and action (用) in the recognition of incident(事) and object(物). He clearly distinguished that object(物) is substance(體) of incident(事), and incident(事) is action(用) of object(物). As such he reached to a concrete recognition about the object of Gyeokmul(the study of things and nature). Third, Siksan kept ot the theory of 'Gyeok Jiya' by Chu Hsi, understanding 'Ji(至)‘ as 'to reach' and '궁지(窮至)’ as 'to reach to the end'. Fourth, out of the theory of Muldo and the theory of Ado, Siksan supported the theory of Muldo and out of the theory of Muldo, he acknowledged the theory of Ijado by Toigye. He, however, corrected what lots of scholars misunderstood the Toigye's theory as 'principle(理) is perceived in my mind'. Lastly, in Korean endings of Gyeokmul, he added Korean endings as '物에 (厓)격홈’. In case of long sentence, he presented as ‘事物之理竆至欲其極處 無不到’. In Mulgyeok, he proved the standing of 'Mulgyeok' with the standing of 'Sinjigyeoksa'.
수확시기와 야간온도가 유색칼라(Zantedeschia)의 구근생산에 미치는 영향

This experiment was carried out to determine optimal culture conditions for the production of tubers of Calla (Zantedeschia elliottiana ‘Golden Affair’ and ‘Black Magic’) in Korea highland. In vitro produced plantlets and tuberlets of Calla ‘Golden Affair’ and ‘Black Magic’ were planted plastic film greenhouse and grown for 100, 120, 140 days, with different night temperature treatments (0~10℃ : no heating, 10, 15℃). In both cultivars, tuber size(tuber diameter, tuber height) and tuber weight increased with increasing cultivation period when the night temperature was maintained at 10℃. The largest tuber diameter in vitro produced plantlets was 5.8cm in ‘Black Magic’ and 3.2cm in ‘Golden Affair’, and daily tuber growth rate was 1.110g in ‘Black Magic’ and 0.092g in ‘Golden Affair’ under the culture conditions. Consequently we think that tuber harvest date was Oct. 30 and night temperature was 10℃ and no heating that was proper method of tuber production. However we had selection of 10℃ treatment for tuber production because it appeared freezing damage occasionally in highland late in October.
