Background: Various shapes and designs of the gluteal artery perforator flap have been used for treating sacral pressure sores and reconstructing breasts. To establish the ideal fasciocutaneous flap design for use in the gluteal area, the soft tissue thickness distribution was measured. Methods: Twenty-one buttocks of adult Korean cadavers were analyzed through rectangular subfascial dissection. Each buttock was divided horizontally into 10 sections and vertically into 10 sections, and then, the thickness at the corners of the sections was measured. For the sake of comparison and statistical verification with living bodies, computed tomography (CT) images of 120 buttocks of patients were randomly selected. Five horizontal sections and 4 vertical sections were made, and the thickness at each corner was recorded. Results: According to the dissection and the CT images, the area with the thinnest soft tissues in the buttock was around the posterior superior iliac spine, close to the sacral area. The thickest area was the superolateral area of the buttock, which was 3.24 times and 2.15 times thicker than the thinnest area in the studies on cadaver anatomy and the CT images, respectively. Conclusions: The thickness of the soft tissues in the buttocks differed by area. The superolateral area had the thickest soft tissues, and the superomedial area had the thinnest. This study includes information on the distribution of the thickness of the gluteal soft tissues of Koreans. The outcome of this study may contribute to the design of effective local flaps for pressure sore reconstruction and free flaps for breast reconstruction.
문어(Octopus vulgaris) 자숙액을 활용한 조미김(Pyropia yezoensis)의 관능 및 영양 특성

This study aimed to compare on sensory and nutritional characteristics between seasoned Laver Pyropia yezoensis with concentrates of octopus Octopus vulgaris cooking effluent (SL-COCE) and commercial seasoned laver (C-SL). Proximate composition of SL-COCE was significantly higher in moisture and ash, lower in lipid than those of C-SL. However, there was no differences in protein between seasoned lavers (P<0.05). The SL-COCE was stronger in sensory appearance, taste, flavor and texture than the C-SL. The SL-COCE was higher in mineral (Ca, P, K, Fe and Zn) than the C-SL. Total amino acid content of SL-COCE was slightly higher than that of C-SL. The major amino acids of SL-COCE were aspartic acid, glutamic acid and alanine. Mineral content based on the 100 g of SL-COCE was 272.3 mg in calcium, 392.2 mg in phosphorus, 1,025.8 mg in potassium, 10.6 mg in iron, 4.4 mg in zinc, which was higher than C-SL. Total content of fatty acid per the 100 g of SL-COCE was 35,098 mg, which was lower than C-SL (39,679 mg). The major fatty acids of SL-COCE were 16:0, 18:1n-9 and 18:2n-6.

Side collisions (or side crash) account for 51.6% of all car to car accidents occurred in 2010. It is necessary to analyze those vehicles' structure deformation and passengers' injuries in the side collisions. A moving barrier (950kg) is currently used in the KNCAP side impact test. However, in order to enhance a passengers' safety in the side collisions, we introduce an AE-MDB (1500kg) which provides more severe conditions for this test. In this study, the test results using both barriers are compared and analyzed.

본 연구에서는 ZnO 박막을 성장하기 위한 plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy (PAMBE)에 장착된 플라즈마건에 13.56 MHz의 rf 전력을 인가하였을 때 발생되는 산소 플라즈마의 발광 스펙트럼을 광발광 분광기(optical emission spectroscopy: OES)를 이용하여 조사하였다. 실험은 산소 가스 유량을 1 sccm에서 20 sccm, rf 전력을 25W에서 250 W 범위에서 플라즈마건의 오리피스의 직경을 각각 3 mm 와 5 mm로 달리하여 행해졌다. 산소 플라즈마를 발생시켰을 때 오리피스의 직경에 상관없이 전형적인 산소 플라즈마의 발광 스펙트럼이 관측되었다. 특히 776.8 nm와 843.9 nm에서 $3p^{5}P-3s^{5}S^{0}$, $3p^{3}P-3s^{3}S^{0}$ 천이에 기인하는 강한 산소 원자 발광선이 관측되었다. 산소 유량과 rf 파워가 증가함에 따라 776.8 nm와 843.9 nm의 발광 세기는 증가하였고, 776.8 nm의 스펙트럼 발광 세기의 증가율이 843.9 nm의 스펙트럼 발광 세기 증가율보다 컸다. 또한 오리피스 직경이 3 mm일 때가 5 mm일 때보다 산소 플라즈마가 더 안정적으로 발생하였다. We investigated optical emission of oxygen plasma discharged by 13.56 MHz radio frequency (rf) by using optical emission spectroscopy (OES). Experimental measurement is done at a range of oxygen flow rate of 1$\sim$20 seem, rf power of 25$\sim$250 W, and orifice 3 and 5 mm in diameter. When oxygen plasma was generated, typical emission spectra for oxygen plasma were observed regardless of diameter of orifice. Strong atomic emission lines are observe at 776.8 an 843.9 nm, corresponding to the $3p^{5}P-3s^{5}S^{0}$ and $3p^{3}P-3s^{3}S^{0}$ transitions, respectively. The emission intensity of line at 776.8 and 843.9 nm increased with increasing the oxygen flow rate and rf power. The increasing rate of emission intensity of 776.8 nm line was larger than that of 843.9 nm line. When the diameter of orifice was 3 mm, the oxygen plasma was more stably generated than orifice 5 mm in diameter.
