장애인의 장애수용척도(Disability Acceptance Scale)에 대한 라쉬 분석(Rasch Analysis)의 적용

In this study, Rasch analysis was applied to the 12-item disability acceptance scale used by the Korea Disability Development Institute’s Disability Life Panel Survey for Korean people with disabilities. This study analyzed a random sample of 300 people using the 5th (2022) survey data, the most recent data available from the panel. The disability acceptance scale analyzed in this study was found to have adequate reliability and validity, indicating its suitability as an assessment tool for understanding the degree of disability acceptance among Korean people with disabilities. Through Rasch residual principal component analysis, we verified that the 11-item scale with item 7 removed satisfied the unidimensionality and regional independence of the Rasch model, which means that the scale validly measures what it is intended to measure. In addition, the scaling analysis for the 4-point Likert scale showed that the extrapolation indices, mean measures, and step corrections all met the criteria. The graph of the 4-point Likert scale also confirmed that the visual distribution was even. There was no differential item functioning by gender, and only one item functioned differentially by primary disability. There were no ceiling and floor effects, indicating adequate interpretability of the scale, high internal consistency, good levels of respondent separation reliability, and high levels of item separation reliability. This study is significant in that it concluded that the 11-item disability acceptance scale can quickly and accurately measure the degree of disability acceptance of people with disabilities through effective validation by Rasch analysis based on item response theory. It is hoped that the scale recommended in this study can be used in the future to closely understand the degree of disability acceptance of people with disabilities and to identify the mechanisms and influencing factors of disability acceptance based on the results.
고령 지체장애인의 장애수용과 생활만족도의 변화-장애기간별 차이

This study examines whether and to what extent the life satisfaction of elderly people with physical disabilities changes according to their acceptance of disabilities. In particular, special attention is paid to how the influence of disability acceptance varies depending on the period of disability. For the analysis, data from the 2nd Wave (1-6th year) of the Employment Panel Survey for the Disabled were used, and people with physical disabilities over the age of 50 were examined. A latent growth model (unconditional model and conditional model) analysis was conducted, and a multi-group comparison analysis was conducted by dividing the disabled by the period of disability. As a result of unconditional model analysis, the level of disability acceptance tended to gradually decrease over time in the group with less than 20 years of disability, but no statistically significant trend was found in the group over 20 years. Life satisfaction tended to increase over time in both groups. The initial value of disability acceptance turned out to increase the initial level of life satisfaction for both groups. Nonetheless, such effect of the initial value of disability acceptance is greater in those with more than 20 years of disability. In terms of the rate of change in life satisfaction, the difference between the two groups was clear. For those with less than 20 years of disability period, the effect of the initial value of disability acceptance on the rate of change in life satisfaction was not significant, but in the case of more than 20 years, the influence was clear. In addition, the effect of the rate of change in disability acceptance on the rate of change in life satisfaction was significant in both groups for less than 20 years of disability and more than 20 years. The above analysis results require strategies to improve their disability acceptance for elderly people with short disabilities, and furthermore, strategies to improve life satisfaction based on improving disability acceptance. It also raises the need to consider differentiation according to the period of disability in the process of seeking intervention strategies.
후천적 신체 장애인의 장애기간에 따른 장애수용도의 변화와 장애 정도의 조절효과

The present study aims to explore the influences of the length of disability and the degree of disability severity on the acceptance of disability among persons with a physical disability. Drawing on the stage theory of grief, we hypothesize the association between the length of disability and the acceptance of disability as well as the moderating role of the degree of disability severity (i.e., mild vs. severe) in facilitating the acceptance of disability after controlling for demographic information, socioeconomic factors, and subjective health satisfaction. Using a sample of 2,264 individuals with a physical disability earned after the age of 15 in the 2nd wave of the PSED (Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled) collected in 2020, our multiple regression analysis shows that the direct effect of the length of disability on the level of acceptance of disability is not significant while the severity of the disability is significantly associated with the level of acceptance of disability. In terms of the interaction effect of the degree of severity between the length of disability and the level of acceptance of disability is significant, which means that the level of acceptance of disability increases as the length of disability increases among severely impaired disabled but not among mildly impaired disables. These findings support the argument of the stage theory of grief claiming that people who experience critical loss tend to go through the stage of psychological changes in the direction of accepting their loss instead of staying in acute emotion. Our findings suggest the importance of the differential influence of psychological factors such as the perceived degree of disability severity in the mental health of disabled people. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
장애 발생 시기가 장애인의 취업에 미치는 영향: 장애수용의 매개효과를 중심으로

The objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of disability onset on employment among workers with disabilities, taking into account the mediating effects of disability acceptance. The author adopted the approach used by Baron & Kenny (1986) to estimate three different regression equations. The data used are from the 4th Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (2011). In the first equation, the dependent variable (employment) was regressed on the independent variable (disability onset); in the second, the mediator (disability acceptance) was regressed on disability onset; and in the third equation, employment was regressed on disability onset and disability acceptance. The author found that the later the onset of disability, the lower the probability of employment. Also, later onset of disability was associated with lower disability acceptance. After controlling disability onset, disability acceptance affected employment significantly. Also, the effect of disability onset on employment was less in the 3rd equation than in the 1st equation. The findings suggest that disability acceptance has partial mediating effects on the relationship between disability onset and employment. Overall, the results point to the need for increased government support especially for people with late disability onset so that they can gain acceptance of their disability and increase the chance of their employment.
발달장애 자녀의 주 양육자가 인식하는 가족탄력성이 우울에 미치는 영향: 장애수용의 매개효과를 중심으로

This study aims to verify the mediating effects of disability acceptance on the impact of family resilience, as perceived by primary caregivers of children with developmental disabilities, on depression. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 391 primary caregivers in households with children with developmental disabilities. Data were collected through the use of a questionnaire, and hierarchical regression analysis was performed using Baron & Kenny's (1986) three-step method to examine the mediating effects of disability acceptance on the relationship between family resilience and depression. The analysis results confirmed that disability acceptance has a mediating effect on the relationship between family resilience and depression. Subsequent validation through the Sobel Test confirmed the significance of the mediating effect of disability acceptance. Additionally, the results of verifying the mediating effects of disability acceptance in the relationship between family resilience sub-factors (belief system, organizational type, communication process) and depression indicated that the mediating effects of disability acceptance were confirmed in all these factors. The study suggests, firstly, the need for educational support on disability acceptance in families with children with developmental disabilities and emphasizes the necessity for fundamental reflection on whether genuine disability acceptance is achievable. Secondly, it underscores the importance of developing policies and practical programs that can reduce depression in families with developmental disabilities and primary caregivers. Lastly, the study proposes the implementation of substantial support for disability acceptance not only for primary caregivers but for the entire family.
고용관련 환경요인이 장애당사자의 장애수용에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 장애인의 인구사회학적 요인, 장애관련 요인과 더불어 고용과 관련된 요인 이 장애수용에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 한국장애인고용공단에서 2008년부터 2010년까지 실시한 1차~3차 장애 인고용패널조사에서 한 번도 누락하지 않고 계속 응답한 패널 총 4,450명이다. 신뢰도 분석, 빈도분석, 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하여 장애수용에 대한 영향력을 분석 하였다. 그 결과 인구사회학적 특성에서는 연령, 결혼상태, 학력이 장애수용에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 장애관련 특성에서는 장애유형, 장애등급, 중증여부, 현재 장애 상태, 만성적 질병보유여부가 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다. 마지막으로 인구사회학적 특성과 장애관련 특성의 영향을 고려한 상태에서도 고용관련 특성은 장애수용 변화에 유의한 설명력을 가졌다. 즉 취업여부, 고용서비스 이용경험, 차별경험, 일의 교육수준 적합 도, 일자리의 지식·기술의 유용성 그리고 일자리 만족도가 장애수용에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 특히 선행연구들에서 장애수용에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 구명된 인구사회적 특성과 장애관련 특성 보다 취업여부와 일자리만족, 차별경험은 장애수용에 더 큰 영향력을 보이는 변수로 밝혀졌다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the environmental factors regarding employment affecting acceptance of disabilities of people with disabilities. The data analyzed was extracted from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED). Research is based on 4,450 panels who have given complete responses in 4,450 panels who have given complete responses in PSED performed by Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled from 2008 to 2010. This study analyzes the effect on acceptance of disabilities people with disabilities by confidence analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis and hierarchial regression analysis. The result showed that demographic factors such as age, marriage status and level of education affected on acceptance of disabilities. Factors related disability such as disability types, degree of disability, significancy of disability, current disability status and chronic illness affected on acceptance of disability significantly. And finally, factors related employment had meaningful explanation on change of acceptance disability even under the consideration of demographic factors and the factors related disability. This means, whether who has a job, experience of employment service use and experience of discrimination or not affected on acceptance of disability. And the suitability of level of difficulty of job for their level of education, the usefulness of one's own knowledge or skill at workplace and the job satisfaction had significant effect on disability acceptance. Especially, whether who has a job or not, the job satisfaction and experience of discrimination were identified as more effective factors on disability acceptance than the demographic factors and the factors related disability which have been found as significant factors in the previous research.
장애인의 자존감과 스트레스의 관계에서 장애수용도의 매개효과

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the longitudinal relationship between self-esteem, disability acceptance, and stress of the disabled. Method: The participant sample was taken from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED). Descriptive statistics, Correlation analysis, Latent Growth Model(LGM) and Sobel test were analyzed in the period between 2nd and 4th of 2nd wave of the data. Results: The trajectories of disability acceptance tend to decrease over time but stress showed a constant pattern irrespective of time change. Both variables had individual differences in terms of initial value. Also the rates of change in disability acceptance had it. The higher the self-esteem, the higher the disability acceptance and stress level at the same time, and the higher the disability acceptability, the lower the stress level at the same time. Furthermore, The initial value of disability acceptance was shown to mediate the effects of self-esteem on stress. Conclusion: The longitudinal characteristics of disability acceptance and stress were clarified, and the mediating effect of disability acceptance was confirmed in the relationship between self-esteem and stress. 연구문제: 본 연구는 장애인의 자존감과 장애수용도, 스트레스 변인 간의 종단적 관계를 살펴보기위해 수행되었다. 연구방법: 장애인고용패널조사 2차 웨이브의 2차-4차 데이터를 대상으로 기술통계, 상관분석, 잠재성장모형, sobel test를 진행하였다. 연구결과: 장애수용도는 시간에 따라 감소하는 양상을 보였고, 스트레스는 시간의 변화와 무관하게 일정한 양상을 보였다. 초기 시점의 장애수용도와 스트레스, 장애수용도의 변화양상 모두에서 개인차가 확인되었다. 자존감이 높을수록 동 시점의 장애수용도 및 스트레스 수준이 높았으며, 장애수용도가 높을수록 동 시점의 스트레스 수준은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 장애수용도는 자존감과 스트레스 사이를 매개하였고, 자존감이 높을수록 장애수용도가 높아 궁극적으로는 동 시점의 스트레스 수준을 완화하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 장애수용도 및 스트레스 변인의 종단적 특성을 밝혔으며, 자존감과 스트레스의 관계에서 장애수용도의 매개효과를 확인하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the longitudinal, reciprocal effects between disability acceptance, self-efficacy, and interpersonal ability and to discuss implications for persons with disability. For this purpose, we used the third (2018–2020) raw data of the second Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED), implemented by the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disability. We used an autoregressive cross-lagged model to test reciprocal effects, and 4420 persons with disability responded to the three above-mentioned waves of the PSED. The findings were as follows. First, disability acceptance, self-efficacy, and interpersonal ability had significant effects on disability acceptance, self-efficacy, and interpersonal ability in the third, fourth, and fifth waves. Second, there was a statistically significant longitudinal, reciprocal relationship between disability acceptance and self-efficacy. In addition, self-efficacy had a significant longitudinal, reciprocal relationship with interpersonal ability. However, interpersonal ability had a statistically significant longitudinal effect on disability acceptance, but not vice versa. Based on these results, we provided suggestions regarding how to improve disability acceptance, self-efficacy, and interpersonal ability among persons with disability.

The propose of this paper is to study the relationship between the acceptance of disability and adaptation of college life and to suggest rudimentary souse to establish support program for disabled students. To fill the necessity and the propose of this study, we proposed several study subjects as follows: 1. Does level of the acceptance of disability and adaptation of college life have a significant meaning to general item as features of individuals? 2. Is there meaning relationship between the acceptance of disability and adaptation of college life? 3. How much do affect the acceptance of disability and adaptation of college life?The research for this study has been resulted as follows: the level of student's the acceptance of disability influened a lot to adaptation of college life. Students who have high the acceptance of disability's sore showed high adaptation of college life. It is indicate that various support program for the acceptance of disability should be established for more effective adaptation of college life.

The study intends to discover variables that affect mothers’ acceptance of disability of their children and examine the process of accepting disability of children by their mothers. Subjects included 36 mothers of children with disabilties aged two to 12 who were receiving treatment services in four treatment centers for children with disabilities in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province. The findings are as follows. Variables such as gender, age, and disability type of children did not affect mothers’ acceptance of disability of their children. No significant difference was found in each variable. Variables that affected mothers’ acceptance of disability of their children included age, religion, and mental health characteristic of mothers. First, younger mothers felt a higher degree of guilt for disability of their children. Second, mothers having no region showed a higher level of overprotection for their children with disabilities. Third, mothers with a lower level of parenting stress, depression, and anxiety showed a higher level of acceptance of disability of their children. The qualitative analysis of the interviews with three mothers with a higher degree of acceptance and another three mothers with a lower degree of acceptance found that existence of emotional supporters had an effect on the degree of acceptance of disability of children.
