        Factors Associated with Low Awareness of Heart Failure in the General Population of Korea

        Background and Objectives: Factors associated with low heart failure (HF) awareness have not been well-evaluated. This study was conducted to find out which demographic features would be associated with low HF awareness in the general population of Korea. Methods: A telephone interview was conducted with 1,032 adults (58 years and 50.6% were male) across the country. Based on answer to 15 questions about HF, we scored from 0 to 15 points (mean, 7.53±2.75; median, 8; interquartile range, 6–9). A score of <8 was defined as low HF awareness, and a score of ≥8 was defined as high HF awareness. Results: A total of 478 subjects (46.3%) had low HF awareness. HF awareness scores were 5.18±1.85 and 9.55±1.50 in subjects of low and high HF awareness groups, respectively. Subjects with low HF awareness were older, more female-dominant, more diabetic, lower educational and house hold income levels, and more frequently living in rural areas, compared to those with high HF awareness (p<0.05 for each). In multivariable logistic regression analyses, older age (≥67 years: odds ratio [OR], 1.61; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.16–2.19; p=0.004), female sex (OR, 1.33; 95% CI, 1.02–1.73; p=0.034) and low educational level (high school graduate or less vs. college graduate: OR, 2.38; 95% CI, 1.75–3.22; p<0.001) were significantly associated with low HF awareness even after controlling for potential confounders. Conclusions: Older age, female sex, and lower level of education were independently associated with low HF awareness in the general Korean population. More attention and education are needed for these vulnerable groups to improve HF awareness.

        메이크업 브랜드와 아트와의 콜라보레이션 상호비교 연구

        본 연구에서는 메이크업 브랜드와 예술작품과의 콜라보레이션에 대한 인지도, 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도 및 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치 간의 영향관계를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 실증분석의 경우 소비자 및 에이크업 아티스트 260명을 대상으로 하였으며, 설문지를 통해 수집된 자료들을 SPSS 24.0프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 먼저, 콜라보레이션에 대한 인지도, 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도 및 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치 간의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 Pearson의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 다음으로, 콜라보레이션에 대한 인지도가 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도 및 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 콜라보레이션에 인지도 요인인 콜라보레이션의 개념에 대한 인지도 요인과 콜라보레이션의 예술 가치에 대한 인지도 요인 모두 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 콜라보레이션의 예술 가치에 대한 인지도의 영향력이 가장 크게 나타났다. 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도가 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도는 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 콜라보레이션에 대한 인지도가 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 콜라보레이션에 인지도 요인인 콜라보레이션의 개념에 대한 인지도 요인과 콜라보레이션의 예술 가치에 대한 인지도 요인 모두 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 콜라보레이션의 예술 가치에 대한 인지도의 영향력이 가장 크게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 콜라보레이션에 대한 호감도 및 콜라보레이션 이미지에 대한 가치 향상을 위해서는 콜라보레이션의 예술 가치에 대한 인지도를 높이는 것이 가장 중요한 요인임을 확인하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects among the collaboration awareness, collaboration favor, and collaboration image value between makeup brand and art. The the collaboration awareness, collaboration favor, and collaboration image value were measured for 260 consumers and makeup artists. The data collected through questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS 24.0 application. Pearson`s correlation analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship among the collaboration awareness, collaboration favor, and collaboration image value. Multiple regression analysis and simple regression analysis were conducted to investigate the effects among the collaboration awareness, collaboration favor, and collaboration image value. It was found that the factors of the collaboration awareness for conceptual awareness and art-valued awareness had significant positive effects on collaboration favor, the relative impact of collaboration awareness for art-valued awareness was higher than collaboration awareness for conceptual awareness. It was also found that collaboration favor had significant positive effects on collaboration image value. It was revealed that the factors of the collaboration awareness for conceptual awareness and art-valued awareness had significant positive effects on collaboration image value, the relative impact of collaboration awareness for art-valued awareness was higher than collaboration awareness for conceptual awareness. From the results, it was confirmed that the collaboration awareness for art-valued awareness is most important factor to improve collaboration favor and collaboration image value between makeup brand and art.

        Role of Phonological and Morphological Awareness in Korean Sixth-Grade Students’ English Vocabulary Knowledge and Reading Comprehension

        The present study examined the roles of phonological and morphological awareness in Korean elementary school students’ vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension. A total of 98 Korean sixth-grade students participated in this study and took phonological awareness (i.e., rhyme and phoneme awareness), morphological awareness (i.e., compounding, inflectional, and derivational awareness), vocabulary knowledge, and reading comprehension tests. The results revealed that phonological and morphological awareness predicted 10% and 4% of the total variance in vocabulary knowledge, respectively, and, 11.4% and 25% of the total variance in reading comprehension after controlling for vocabulary knowledge. Among the three types of morphological awareness, inflectional awareness was the strongest predictor explaining the variances in vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension, whereas derivational awareness did not explain any variance in either outcome. Such findings indicate that, for the Korean sixth-graders, the role of phonological and morphological awareness in their English vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension overlap, but morphological awareness benefits their text-level comprehension more than their phonological awareness. Several pedagogical implications are also discussed

      • 골프산업인식이 골프산업정책 만족에 미치는 영향

        The purposes of this study were to identify awareness differences of golf industry policy to investigate how golf industry policy satisfaction is affected by golf industry awareness, to investigate how golf industry policy satisfaction is affected by demographic variable and golf industry awareness through golf industry awareness and golf industry policy satisfaction. 890 were analyzed questionnaires for residence lived in Seoul, 2006. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Scheffe post-test, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used fulfill the purposes of this study. The result of this study were as follows: First, in awareness of golf industry according to demographic variable, significant differences were observed according to gender, age, income, golf career. Second, there were significant differences economic and environment variable in an infra construction aspect, economic, social, culture and environment variable in an information technology development aspect and economic, social, international exchange and environment variable in a market extend and investment inducement aspect, in golf industry policy satisfaction is affected by golf industry awareness. Third, there were, in an infra construction aspect that golf industry policy satisfaction is affected by demographic variable and golf industry awareness, significant differences age, income and golf use frequency in demographic variable, environment variable in golf industry awareness. There were, in an information technology development aspect that golf industry policy satisfaction is affected by demographic variable and golf industry awareness, significant differences gender, age, income and golf career in demographic variable, social variable and culture variable in golf industry awareness. There were in a market extend and investment inducement aspect that golf industry policy satisfaction is affected by demographic variable and golf industry awareness, significant differences gender and golf use frequency in demographic variable, economic variable, social variable, culture variable and environment variable in golf industry awareness.

        노인의 참여인식, 복지의식, 사회적 자본 간의 관계 연구

        The purpose of this study is to understand how variously our social welfare programs are being supplied to the public, how the participation awareness and social capital affect the welfare awareness, and how the social capital mediate the participation awareness and welfare awareness of the elderly job and social activity support project which is one of the welfare services provided to the elderly. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted on 560 participants of the elderly job and social activity support project by random sampling method. As a result, 464 copies were collected and 419 copies were analyzed. In order to identify the characteristics of the elderly job and social activity support project and the degree of welfare awareness affected by participation awareness, we have set up a research model by organizing the theoretical basis for the selection of research topics, backgrounds and major variables based on the literature data. These results of survey were used for empirical analysis of the research model that was set, and this was used for statistical analysis. The results showed that participation awareness of the elderly job and social activity support project participants had a significant influence on welfare awareness and social capital, and social capital mediated the relationship between these two variables. As a result of analyzing the survey results based on the purpose of this study, implications were deduced in 3 aspects. First, it is meaningful as a research through empirical analysis of the differences of participation awareness, welfare awareness, and social capital according to the participation characteristics of participants. This survey can suggest future tasks and directions for the elderly job and social activity support project. Second, it is meaningful to establish an opportunity to recognize the necessity and importance of social capital as a mechanism to enhance the participation awareness and welfare awareness, having discrimination from existing researches as a study in which the social capital of the participant demonstrates the mediating effect between participation awareness and welfare awareness. Third, we expect to provide useful information to the elderly practitioners of the government and private institutions. It is meaningful to provide concrete data so that related policies and welfare policies of the elderly job and social activity support project could be set up. 우리나라의 사회복지 프로그램은 국민들에게 다양하게 공급되고 있으며 그중 노인들에게 제공되는 복지서비스의 하나인 노인 일자리 및 사회활동 지원사업에 대하여 참여자의 참여인식과 사회적자본이 복지의식에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 사회적자본이 참여자의 참여인식과 복지의식에 매개하는지 파악하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 하고 있다. 노인 일자리 및 사회활동 지원사업의 특성과 참여인식 정도가 복지인식에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 문헌자료를 중심으로 연구주제 선정, 배경 및 주요변수들에 대한 이론적 근거를 정리하고 연구모형을 설정하였다. 설정된 연구모형의 실증적 분석을 위해 설문조사를 활용하고 이를 근거 자료로 통계분석에 활용하였으며 그 결과는 노인 일자리 및 사회활동 지원사업 참여자의 참여인식은 복지의식과 사회적자본에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었고 사회적자본은 이들 두 변수들의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 목적에 따른 조사결과를 종합하여 분석한 결과 첫째, 참여자의 참여특성에 따라 참여인식, 복지의식, 사회적자본의 차이에 대하여 실증조사 분석을 통해 노인 일자리 및 사회활동 지원사업에 대한 개선과제와 향후 지향점을 찾을 수 있다. 둘째, 참여자의 사회적자본이 참여인식과 복지의식 간의 매개효과가 있을을 밝힘으로서 사회적자본은 참여인식과 복지의식을 높여줄 수 있는 기제로서 사회적자본의 필요성과 중요성을 인식하는 계기를 마련하는데 의의가 있다. 셋째, 본 연구결과는 정부와 민간기관의 노인관련 실무자들에게 유용한 정보로 제공되기를 기대한다. 노인 일자리 및 사회활동 지원사업의 관련 정책이나 복지정책 관련 세부사항을 설정할 수 있도록 구체적 자료로 제공하였다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

        초기 노안의 노화인식과 눈 건강관리 인식 조사

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness levels of aging perception and eye health care in individuals with presbyopia. Methods : An online survey was used targeting 171 middle-aged adults in their 40’s or older suffering from early presbyopia, and the 6 questions on aging awareness and 11 questions on eye health care awareness ranged from 'not at all' to 'very much'. Responses were made on a 5-point scale. Independent t-tests and ANOVA analysis were performed to examine the differences in aging perception and eye health care awareness based on age groups (early, mid, and late 40‘s) and gender. Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between aging perception and eye health care awareness. Results : The average age of the subjects was 43.92±2.42 years, and 95 were male (55.6%) and 96 were female (44.4%). There was no difference in the degree of aging awareness and eye health care awareness according to age group. In aging perception, it was found that males (3.40±0.97) showed significantly higher aging awareness than females (3.87±0.93) in one question (question no. 4). In eye health care awareness, it was found that women had higher health care awareness than men in three questions (questions 1, 6, and 7) (female: 4.05±0.67, male: 3.52±0.81, female: 3.83±0.77, male: 3.51±0.99, female: 4.01±0.70, male: 3.77±0.83). The higher the aging awareness, the higher the eye health care awareness(r=0.161, p=0.035). Conclusion : There were differences in aging awareness and eye health care awareness based on gender, and higher levels of aging perception were associated with higher levels of eye health care awareness. 목적 : 초기 노안에서 노화인식과 눈 건강관리의 인식 정도를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 : 초기 노안을 겪는 40대 이상의 중년 성인 171명을 대상으로 온라인 설문 조사를 이용하여 노화 인식에대한 설문 6문항과 눈 건강관리 인식에 대한 설문 11문항에 대해 ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’에서 ‘매우 그렇다’까지 5점척도로 응답하게 하였다. 독립표본 t-검정과 ANOVA 분석으로 노화 인식 정도와 눈 건강관리 인식의 연령대(40 대 초반, 중반, 후반)와 성별에 따른 차이를 알아보고, pearson의 상관분석을 시행하여 노화인식과 눈 건강관리인식의 상관성을 평가하였다. 결과 : 대상자들의 평균나이는 43.92±2.42세로 남자는 95명(55.6%), 여자는 96명(44.4%)이었다. 연령대에 따라노화 인식 정도와 눈 건강관리 인식은 차이를 보이지 않았다. 노화인식의 경우 한 가지 문항(문항 4번)에서 남자(3.40±0.97)가 여자(3.87±0.93)에 비해 유의하게 높은 노화인식을 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 눈 건강관리 인식은세 가지 문항(문항 1, 6, 7번)에서 여자가 남자에 비해 높은 건강관리 인식을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다(각각여: 4.05±0.67, 남: 3.52±0.81, 여: 3.83±0.77, 남: 3.51±0.99, 여: 4.01±0.70, 남: 3.77±0.83). 노화인식도가 높을수록 눈 건강관리 인식정도가 유의하게 높았다(r=0.161, p=0.035). 결론 : 성별에 따라 노화인식과 눈 건강관리 인식은 차이를 보였고, 노화 인식도가 높을수록 눈 건강관리 인식정도가 높았다.

        부모의 단어지도가 유아의 수용어휘 크기에 미치는 영향: 단어인식의 매개효과

        Objectives: Word awareness is an important factor in word instruction for children in late preschool. This study aimed to verify whether parents’ word instruction promotes the growth of preschoolers’ receptive vocabulary size and whether the relation between the two variables is mediated by preschoolers’ word awareness. Methods: The study recruited 200 pairs of five to six-year-old preschoolers and their parents from 14 childcare centers in Sejong and Daejeon, South Korea. Experimenters asked the preschoolers to answer questions on word unit awareness, word arbitrariness awareness, word morphology awareness, word type awareness, and receptive vocabulary size from experimenters and videos. Parents were asked to answer the items on word instruction. Results: First, parents’ word instruction, preschoolers’ word awareness and receptive vocabulary size were positively correlated. Second, parents’ word instruction had a direct effect on preschoolers’ receptive vocabulary size and an indirect effect via preschoolers’ word awareness. Lastly, the partial mediating effects of word unit awareness, word arbitrariness awareness, word morphology awareness, and word type awareness on the relation between parents’ word instruction and receptive vocabulary size were all significant. Conclusion: This study revealed the importance of parents’ word instruction to enhance preschoolers’ awareness of various aspects of words. The present results offer useful information for developing vocabulary instruction programs for preschoolers and parents.

        유아의 상위언어능력과 모국어 및 외국어 어휘력간의 관계

        본 연구는 5-6세 유아의 상위언어능력과 모국어와 외국어 어휘력간의 관계를 알아보았으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 5-6세 유아들도 상위언어능력을 갖고 있었으며, 통사자각능력은 6세 유아가 5세 유아보다 높았다. 둘째, 유아의 상위언어능력은 외국어 어휘력 뿐만 아니라 외국어 어휘력과도 의미있는 상관이 있었다. 셋째, 모국어 능력은 외국어 어휘력과 의미있는 상관이 있었으나, 상위언어능력을 통제한 후의 모국어 어휘력과 외국어 어휘력간의 편상관계수는 현저하게 낮아졌다. 이 결과를 EFL 상황에서 5-6세 유아들에게 외국어교육을 시키는 상황에서 유아의 모국어 및 외국어 어휘력과 상위언어능력의 관계와 관련하여 논의하였다. This study explores the metalinguistic awareness of 5 and 6 year old Korean preschoolers. It investigates the relationships among first language and foreign language vocabulary, and metalinguistic awareness. Receptive vocabulary was tested to measure first language vocabulary. Foreign language vocabulary was measured by a test of receptive and expressive vocabulary and story recall following student participation in activities related to two storybooks. Metalinguistic awareness is here defined as phonological awareness, word awareness, and semantic and syntactic awareness. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, the five and six year old preschoolers demonstrated some metalinguistic awareness. They also had phonemic awareness of English. Six year olds were more aware of syntax and English phonemes than five year old children. Second, significant relationships were found between metalinguistic awareness and Korean receptive vocabulary. This finding supports the hypothesis of an interaction between metalinguistic awareness and language development. The relationship between metalinguistic awareness and foreign language abilities also had a significant positive correlation. Third, Korean receptive vocabulary was positively correlated with English vocabulary. Partial correlations between Korean and English vocabulary as control factors for metalinguistic awareness were found to be insignificant. This latter finding is discussed in terms of the effect of metalinguistic awareness acting on the vocabulary of both languages.

        기능적 조음음운장애아동과 일반아동의 음운인식과 읽기능력의 비교 및 상관

        배경 및 목적: 기능적 조음음운장애아동에게 음운인식적 치료접근을 통해 조음에 개선이 있다는 주장은 있으나 조음음운장애아동이 일반아동에 비해 음운인식이 낮은지, 그리고 음운인식과 읽기능력 및 조음능력이 서로 상관이 있는지에 관한 연구는 없다. 따라서 본 연구는 기능적조음장애아동과 일반아동 간의 음운인식능력 및 읽기능력이 차이가 있는지, 음운인식능력,읽기능력, 조음능력 간에는 유의미한 상관이 있는지 알아보기 위한 것이다. 방법: 학령전기인만 5세에서 6세 사이의 기능적 조음음운장애아동 20명과, 말과 언어발달이 정상적인 일반아동20명, 총 40명을 대상으로 음운인식과 읽기능력을 평가하였다. 음운인식은 음소와 음절수준에서 탈락, 합성, 분절과제를 통해 측정하였다. 읽기는 37개 낱말을 글자로 제시하고 재인에성공한 확률로 평가하였다. 결과: 첫째, 기능적 조음음운장애아동 집단은 일반아동 집단과 비 교했을 때 음절인식과 읽기능력에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 두 집단 간에 음소인식은 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 기능적 조음음운장애아동에게 있어 음운인식과 읽기능력, 그리고음운인식과 조음능력 간에는 유의미한 상관을 보였다. 그러나 조음능력과 읽기능력은 상관이없었다. 일반아동에게 있어서도 음운인식과 읽기만이 유의미한 상관이 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 기능적 조음음운장애아동들이 음절인식과 낱말재인을 통해 본 읽기과제에서 일반아동에비해 유의미하게 낮은 수행을 보이는 사실은 주목할 만하다. 기존의 연구결과들은 낮은 음운인식능력이 읽기문제를 야기할 수 있는 것으로 보고되고 있지만, 조음장애와의 관련성에 대해서는 결과가 분분하였었는데 이 연구결과는 어느 정도 조음장애와 음운인식 및 읽기문제가관련이 있음을 보여주었다. 이 결과는 중재계획을 수립할 때 음운인식이 지체된 조음음운장애아동에 대해서는 음운인식과 읽기발달 측면도 주의 깊게 살펴야 함을 시사한다. Background & Objectives: Our understanding of how phonological awareness and the articulation ability are related to the reading ability has been somewhat vague. The purpose of this study, first of all, is to find out whether differences in phonological awareness and reading skills exist between the children with functional articulation phonological disorder and age matched children without articulation disorder. Secondly the study examines whether any meaningful correlation exists between phonological awareness, reading skills, and articulation capabilities. Methods: To this end, the study evaluated the phonological awareness-phonemic and syllable levels- and reading skillsword recognition- of 40 children, from ages 5 to 6, half of whom suffered from functional articulation phonological disorder, the other half had normal articulation. Results: First, the group of children with functional articulation phonological disorder showed meaningful differences in syllable awareness and reading skills compared to the children with normal articulation. However, the two groups were indifferent regarding phonemic awareness, which neither group had yet to sufficiently develop. Second, the study showed that phonological awareness had a meaningful correlation with reading and articulation skills in functional phonological disorders. The reading skill was explained by phonetic awareness with 64% accuracy in functional phonological disorders(R2=.64). In the group of normal articulation, the phonological awareness had a meaningful correlation with only reading skills. Discussion & Conclusion: It is noteworthy that children with articulation phonological disorder performed well below than normal children in phonological awareness(syllable level) and reading disciplines. While existing research had shown that low phonological awareness could cause reading problems, its correlation with articulation disorder remained inconclusive showing inconsistent results. However, the results of this study show that articulation disorder and phonological awareness are indeed correlated to a certain degree. This study indicates that both phonological awareness and reading development should be taken into consideration when treating preschool children with articulation phonological disorder and low phonological awareness
