        A 14-year-old male pomeranian was present with swollen left ear. The swelling occurred from base to apex of pinna. Otitis externa persisted for two years. Hematological and serum biochemistry values were not remarkable. The surgery treatment was the most appropriate method among indwelling drain, surgical, and steroid treatment in the aural hematoma because the dog was very sensitive to touching pinna and the size of aural hematoma. Longitudinal incision was applied after general anesthesia. Cefovecin was injected to prevent secondary infection. The outcome of surgery was good. There was no evidence of recurrence for one year.

      • 과학 탐구의 3 차원 평가틀에 의한 평가 목표 분류 및 진술

        The purpose of this study is to classify and state of evaluating objectives using three-dimensional assessment framework of science inquiry. The first, as an attempt to provide a theoretical base for developing an assessment framework taxonomies and classificatory schemes of educational objectives were analyzed Bloom's taxonomy, Klopfer's specification, NAEP(National Assessment of Educational Progress), and APU(Assessment of Performance Unit) framework. The second, three-dimensional assessment framework use in this study has formed a clear definition of three-dimensional matrix. These three dimensions consists of content, context and process. The third, the model of three-dimensional taxonomy of science inquiry developed in this study is presented. In addition, an example of classification and statement of evaluating objectives based on the model is presented.

        구순구개열환자에서 자기늑골을 이용한 일차성 골이식

        Alveolar bone grafting is an essential component of successful surgical rehabilitation in many common cleft deformities. Primary alveolar bone grafting is defined as alveolar bone grafting which takes place before eruption of the primary dentition or before 1 years of age. The major objective in primary alveolar bone grafting is to prevent significant maxillary segmental collapse and arch disturbances. If severe, this can make secondary rehabilitation difficult, costly, and protracted. Such early stabilization may eliminate or, at least, decrease the amount of orthodontic arch expansion required during the transitional dentition period. Furthermore, early obliteration of alveolus fistulae improves speech and dental hygiene. It is critical that abutting maxillary segmental alignment be achieved(generally when the patient is 8 to 10 months of age) before grafting. Otherwise, the amount of dissection necessary to develop mucosal flaps for bone graft coverage will be more extensive, thus risking increased scar formation with potential adverse effects on growth. We report a preliminary result of 4 cases of primary alveolar bone graft using rib bone, performed by limited dissection and onlay graft technique at 8 to 10 months of age. They showed satisfactory clinical results especially in terms of growth up to now.

      • 미생물 포괄 고정화방식을 이용한 수산물 가공공장 폐수처리

        Feasibility of simultaneous removal of organic and nitrogen is evaluated as applying microbial entrapping method to treat fish processing wastewater. Treatability test is conducted immobilizing activated sludge from municipal sewage treatment plant to gel matrix made of cellulose triacetate. Stable operation can be possible when applying organic and nitrogen loading rate increasingly to wastewater treatment system composed of anoxic and oxic tank. Organic loading rate and nitrogen loading rate are applied 0.65-1.72kg COD/㎥/d and 0.119-0.317kg T-N/㎥/d, respectively. In case of wastewater from fish processing plant used in this study, it is evaluated that 0.3kg T- N/㎥/d is upper limit of applicable space loading rate because effluent T-N concentration is exceed 60mg/L, legal effluent dishargeable limit of T-N concentration in Korea, when space loading rate is exceed 0.3kg T-N/㎥/d. It is evaluated that nitrification of system is performed efficiently regardless fo variation of applied loading rate because removal efficiency of NH_(4)^(+)-N is relatively constant when the applied NH_(4)^(+)-N loading rate is increased gradually, while decrease of T-N removal efficiency is apparent when the applied loading rate is increased gradually. Nitrate removal efficiency in this study is varied from 98.62% to 99.51% depending on applied loading rate, while nitrification efficiency of oxic reactor is varied from 94.0% to 96.9%. It is showed that COD removal efficiency is varied from 94.2% to 96.6% and T-N removal efficiency is varied from 73.4% to 83.4% depending on loading rate applied in this study.

      • 외부 긴장재에 의해 프리스트레스가 도입된 프리캐스트 콘크리트 상판의 극한하중

        프리캐스트 콘크리트 상판은 시공이 용이하기 때문에 교량 건설에 대한 적용이 늘고 있다. 프리캐스트 콘크리트 상판을 사용할 경우 횡방향 조인트에 인한 상판의 구조적 불연속 때문에 내부 긴장재를 이용하여 상판에 프리스트레스를 도입하기가 어렵다. 외부 긴장재를 사용할 경우 프리스트레스의 도입과 이후에 있을 상판의 보수 작업이 용이해 지기 때문에 외부 긴장재(external cable)를 이용하여 프리스트레스를 도입하는 방법이 실용적이다. 본 연구에서는 강재 거더에 정착을 시킨 외부 긴장재에 의해 프리스트레스가 도입된 세 개의 강합성교 시험체를 실험실에서 제작하여, 프리텐션과 포스트텐션의 두 가지 방법을 이용하여 시험체에 도입된 프리스트레스의 효과를 실험적으로 증명하였다. 외부 긴장재를 이용한 프리텐션과 포스트텐션의 효과를 하중 재하실험을 통하여 검증하였으며. 프리스트레스의 도입이 횡방향 조인트와 프리캐스트 상판의 극한강도에 미치는 영향도 검토하였다. Precast R.C. slabs are gaining an acceptance for the construction of bridge structures because of simplicity in their construction processes. One of the frequently encountered difficulties with precast slabs is an introducion of prestress. Deployment of internal tendons is not practical because of the existence of transverse joints between each precast slab. However, usage of the external tendons facilitates introduction of prestress on the precast slabs. Three steel-concrete composite bridge specimens, which are prestressed with the external cables, are constructed in the laboratory. Both pre-tension and post-tension methods are used to introduce prestress on the precast concrete slab. In this paper, prestressing methods using external cables are introduced and their effects in improving the ultimate loading capacity of the precast slabs and transverse joints are also reported.

      • Fluoranthene 독성에 기인하는 비정상적 어류행동의 신경생화학적 분석

        Fluoranthene, a common polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), exhibits phototoxicity which may affect aquatic organisms, The eventual goal of this study is to develop a biomarker of Japanese medaka (Oryzias iatipes) used in monitoring hazardous chemicals in the ecosystem. In this study we investigated neural toxicity of fluoranthene in Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) along with comparative analysis of corresponding behavioral responses. The untreated individuals showed normal behavioral characteristics (i.e' smooth and linear movements). The treated fish, however, showed stopping and abrupt change of orientation (100 ppb), and severely reduced locomotive activity and enhanced surfacing activity (1,000ppb). Treatment of the medaka fish with fluoranthene caused a significant suppression of acetylcholine esterase (AChE) activities in the body portion but not in the head portion. When fish were exposed to 1,000pph of fluoranthene for 24hr, the body AChE activities decreased from 126.±31.89 (nmoles substrate hydrolyzed per min per mg protein) 10 49.51 ± 11.99. Expressions of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) protein in the different organs from both head and body portions were comparatively analyzed using an immunohistochemical technique. Five organs of the medaka fish showing a strong TH protein expression were the olfactory bulb, hypothalamus, optic lobe, pons and myelencephalon regions. This study provides molecular and neurobehavioral bases of a biomonitoring system for toxic chemicals using fish as a model organism.

      • 정신질환자 수용시설환자의 정신과적 입원치료 경험 유무에 따른 비교연구

        We have visited the asylums in Chollapukdo for two months since March of 1985. We conducted a comparative study between the patients who has been previously hospitalized and who has not been hospitalized for psychiatric problems. We individually interviewed 489 patients using the interview schedule. The results are shown as follows: 1. The group who were young, single and highly educated have been more hospitalized than the groups who were old, married and little educated. However, no significant difference was made by sex and districts. 2. The group who lived alone or were deserted from the family has been rarely hospitalized. 3. The group, who has been entered the asylum by the family or who explained the reason as treatment, has been more hospitalized previously than the group entered by the others or who said that they came due to alcohol. 4. While the group who has been hospitalized showed tendency to accept having their psychiatric disorders, but the group who has not been hospitalized showed tendency to deny having their disorders. 5. The group who named their disorders psychoses or schizophrenia has been more hospitalized than the group who named them alcoholics. 6. The group hospitalized previously has been also treated in other ways besides psychiatric treatment, and chronic patients with the duration of more than three years has been relatively hospitalized previously. 7. While the group who has been previously hospitalized was relatively indicated for hospitalization, but the other group was not relatively indicated.

      • 능동자기베어링 시스템의 제어기 설계 및 불균형 진동 분석

        Active magnetic bearings (AMB's) have become practical in many industrial fields and numbers of studies for magnetic bearing systems have been reported. However, AMB systems are open-loop unstable and thus require feedback control for robust stabilization and performance. In this paper, first, a rotation of the rotor around the inertial axis is considered and a rigorous modeling of a magnetic bearing system in which the rotation of the rotor is on its axis of inertia is developed. Next, to stabilize the AMB system a PID controller is used and experimentally analyze its rotational response.

      • 형상기억합금 기반 공구 클램핑장치의 자동 공구교환 시스템 개발

        This study developed an auto tool change system of the SMA-based tool clamping device for applications of micro-machine tools. This paper first introduces clamping/unclamping mechanisms of the auto tool change system and its basic configuration. In addition, it shows experimental results of times needed for clamping/unclamping operations of a prototype of the auto tool change system. The average values were estimated to 7.2(s) and 2.6(s) respectively. These results confirm that the auto tool change system is feasible.

      • 양방향성 형상기억합금을 이용한 초소형 공작물 클램핑 장치 개념설계

        In this paper, a micro workpiece clamping device, which is possible to be applied in micro machine-tools, based on a shape memory alloy is introduced. Especially, the train procedure to transform a commercial one-way shape memory alloy into a two-way shape memory alloy is described. Also, it is experimentally verified that through the train procedure, the applied shape memory alloy ring exhibits two-way shape memory behavior of 220㎛ deformation. In addition, a conceptual design and a basic configuration of the work-piece clamping device using the two-way type shape memory alloy are suggested.
