        작은노란대구멍장이버섯 균사체 배양액의 항염증 활성

        Polyporus parvovarius is a species of fungus in the genus Polyporus. Recently, studies are shown that Polyporus has been evaluated to have anti-bacterial and anti-tumor. However, Anti-inflammatory effect of P. parvovarius mycelial culture filtrate (Pp) has not reported yet. Therefore, in this study, the lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 inflammation model was used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of Pp cultured in four types of culture media. As a result, Pp_DY inhibited nitric oxide, prostaglandin E2, and inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, interleukin-1β at non-toxic concentrations. In addition, Pp_DY significantly inhibited inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 on lipopolysaccharidetreated RAW 264.7 macrophages. In conclusion, it was suggested that Pp_DY has the potential to be used as a mushroom resources with anti-inflammatory.

        Validation of the Korean Version Health Consciousness Scale

        As a wide range of health-related attitudes and behaviors is affected by health consciousness level, scholars have considered it a significant mental aspect of one’s health. However, due to its conceptual complexity and ambiguity, its measures have been inconsistent across studies and often integrated with measuring overt health behaviors. In this regard, this study aimed to propose and validate the Korean version health consciousness (HC) scale, focusing on the psychological dimensions. The scale, which was originally developed and tested in the U.S. context, was translated into Korean and used to measure one’s level of health consciousness among 525 college students in South Korea. Overall, the results of item analysis showed the potency of the scale as a statistically valid and reliable measure of health consciousness and provided significant correlations with attitudinal and behavioral variables regarding physical activity. Based on the results and discussion, we expect the scale to be useful in predicting many health-promoting behaviors and relevant attitudes and in helping to develop effective health promotion programs in the post-COVID-19 era.

        LPS로 유도된 RAW 264.7 세포에 대한 조록나무 잎 Biorenovation 추출물의 항염증 활성

        Biorenovation is a microbial enzyme-based structural modification of component compounds in natural products and synthetic compounds including plant extracts with the potential benefits of improved biological activities compared with its reaction substrates. In this study, we investigated the antiinflammatory activity of Distylium racemosum leaf extract and D. racemosum leaf biorenovation extract (DLB). As a result, DLB inhibited nitric oxide, prostaglandin E2, and inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, interleukin-1β at non-toxic concentrations. In addition, DLB significantly inhibited inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 on LPS-treated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Based on these results, we suggest that the DLB could be used as a potent anti-inflammatory agents. It also suggests that the application of biological evolution has potential usefulness to increase the practical value of natural products. 조록나무는 제주도 및 일본 혼슈 이남, 중국 동남부, 타이완 등에 분포하는 조록나무과의 상록 교목으로, 항산화 및 tyrosinase, elastase의 억제에 효과적인 것으로 알려져 있지만 NO에 대한억제 효능은 미미한 것으로 보고되었다. 이에 본 연구는 조록나무 잎 추출물(DL)에 biorenovation 생물 전환 기법을 적용하여 항 염증 활성을 증진 시키고자 수행되었다. 이들의 활성은LPS로 자극된 RAW264.7 염증 모델에서 평가 되었으며 NO, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX- 2) 및 전 염증성 사이토카인에 대한 억제 실험이 수행되었다. 그 결과, biorenovation을 적용한 조록나무 잎 추출물(DLB)는 독성이 없는 농도에서 DL대비 향상된 NO와 prostaglandin E2 억제효능을 나타내었으며, 이들의 합성 효소인 iNOS 및 COX-2의발현에도 유의한 억제 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 대표적인 전 염증성 사이토 카인인 tumor necrosis factor-α, Interleukin 6, Interleukin-1β 에서도 향상된 억제 효능을 확인 하였다. 이러한결과를 근거로 우리는 biorenovation을 통해 DL의 항염증 효능이 개선될 수 있으며, DLB가 효과적인 천연 항염증 소재로 적용될 수 있음을 제시한다.

        Biorenovation 기법 적용 제주상사화 callus의 항염증 활성

        Callus cultivation is a method for producing a large amount of tissue of a plant in the laboratory, regardless of the environment. Lycoris chejuensis, a plant species native to jeju island, is a member of the Lycoris family has been used as a traditional medicine for the treatment of diverse diseases. In this study, we evaluated anti-inflammatory effect of biorenovated Lycoris chejuensis callus (LCB) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- induced RAW264.7 cells. As a result, LCB was less toxic to the cells in the concentration range of 25, 50, and 100 μg/mL as shown by the improved viability of LCB treated cells than compared to Lycoris chejuensis callus (LC) treatment. In addition, LCB inhibited the generation of NO and prostaglandin E2 through the suppression of inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase- 2 protein expression. LCB also attenuated the expression of interleukin-1β, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α induced by LPS. The results suggest that LCB has antiinflammatory activity on the LPS-induced inflammatory response and may be suitable for the development of potent functional cosmetic material.

      • Drowning-out 결정화 분리 공정에서 L(+)-calcium lactate의 침상 결정 입자크기 제어 연구

        L-calcium lactate is important chemicals of lactic acid industry. It is widely used as nutrient in food and medicine for lack of calcium and is a key chemical in drugs, food, health and chemical industry. Recently, L-lactic acid has been emphasized as it is utilized by human body and its polymer is biodegradable. In this study, the control of needle crystal size of L( + )-calcium lactate by using drowning-out crystallization is investigated. The supersaturation and agitation have an influence on the crystal size. When supersaturation is so high, the nucleation is created so fast and the amount of nucleation is so much. and agitation results in the breakage of crystal.

        여드름균에 의해 유도된 RAW264.7 세포에서 생물 전환된 비자나무 추출물의 항염증 효과

        The most common skin disease, acne, often occurs in adolescence, but it is also detected/observed in adults due to air pollution and drug abuse. One of the causative agents of acne, Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) plays a role in the development of skin acne by inducing inflammatory mediators. Torreya nucifera (TN) is an evergreen tree of the family Taxaceae, having well reported antioxidant, anti-proliferative, liver protection, and nerve protection properties. Improvement of these bioactive properties of natural products is one of the purposes of natural product chemistry and pharmaceuticals. We believe biorenovation could be one improvement strategy that utilizes microbial metabolism to produce unique derivatives having enhanced bioactivity. Therefore, in this study, the C. acnes-induced RAW264.7 inflammation model was used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of the biorenovated Torreya nucifera product (TNB). The results showed improved viability of TNB-treated cells compared to TN-treated cells in the concentration range of 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL. At non-toxic concentrations, TNB inhibited the production of nitric oxide and prostaglandin E2 by suppression of inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression. TNB also attenuated the expression of interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, interleukin-8, and tumor necrosis factor-α induced by C. acnes. Furthermore, TNB inhibited the nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway, a transcription factor known to regulate inflammatory mediators. Based on these results, this study suggests the potential of using TNB as natural material for the treatment of acnes and thus, supporting our postulation of biorenovation as an bioactivity improvement strategy.

        겨울구멍장이버섯 균사체 배양액의 항염증 활성

        In this study, the anti-inflammatory effect of Polyporus brumalis (Pb) mycelium culture extract was evaluated in RAW264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. Pb mycelium was grown in liquid media such as DY broth, MY broth, Malt extract broth, and Potato dextrose broth. During the entire experiment period, increased nitric oxide was most significantly suppressed by Pb cultured in DY broth (Pb_DY). And, Pb_DY significantly inhibited prostaglandin E2, and inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, and interleukin-1β. In addition, Pb_DY inhibited LPS-induced inducible nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase-2 expression in RAW264.7 cells. These results suggest that the Pb mycelium culture extract could be used as a potent anti-inflammatory material. These findings provide novel insights regarding mushroom resources.
